“Bang” had me the most genuinely sad. Snowball fight is objectively some of the best panels in manga, but the scene with Power smashed my balls in the feels and then proceeded to continue smashing them in with a sledgehammer before throwing them into a meat grinder. I miss Power.

@@rinneganfinder Makima's goal wasn't to kill Denji, it was to defeat Chainsaw Man. She knew she never stood a chance against him, so she controlled the hybrids to gain some advantage. But Chainsaw Man killed all of them over and over again with no effort, even in his weak form in the final battle when Makima thought she was fighting Denji.

NEAR END MANGA SPOILERS: After Aki dies, his body is possessed by the Gun Devil, making him the Gun Fiend. In this state he is basically hallucinating everything as the snowball fight he never got to have with his brother before he died, and is now having with kid versions of Denji and Power who correlate with their reality versions. He fights Denji while hallucinating it as a fun snowball fight between them, while in reality he is causing mass death and destruction throughout the city where they live. It is so sad because you see Aki's thoughts about the fight and how he finally moved past his family's death as he had now found a new family in Power and Denji, who he is ironically attempting to kill in reality while he thinks he is just playing a snowball fight with them as they are all kids, and that life had finally become fun again and that he finally had people who cared about him. Tragically, Aki was already dead before he became the fiend and was brought back, so Denji is left with no choice but to kill the Gun Fiend in order to save the innocent people he is killing in his rampage and for the first and only time in the series Denji cries. It is effectively the emotional peak of the whole series and the starting point of the climax and ending of it all.

The Snowball fight and it’s outcome makes me teary eyed every time I think about it. That is without a doubt one of the hardest moments to get through in all of media for me. Denji screaming his name over and over and over and over and trying to avoid the inevitable, only for you know who to notice him crying for the first time ever (especially poignant when you think about the hospital scene with Denji questioning if he’s even human or could cry) and then it cutting back to reality to show the outcome. God damn. And then it just keeps going downhill. Whenever I think about Part 1 there are three major chilling or depressing moments that stick out in my head 1. Snowball Fight 2. Bang! 3. Makima laughing to the point of tears (utterly bone chilling).

I think the fight between Denji and the Gun Fiend (a.k.a. Aki), was so well written. The way it switched between Aki and Denji having a snowball fight, and then back to Chainsaw Man vs the Gun Fiend was done perfectly! Aki was one of my favorite characters (if not my favorite character) in the whole manga, so seeing Denji try so hard to bring him back, and then having to kill him in the end, makes me wanna cry every time (just thinking about makes me sad😢)

When makima revealed her true intentions it was like she broke us down alongside denji. Making us have these connections to the characters just to take it away from denji(us). I think the fight between Denji and the Gun Fiend (a.k.a. Aki), was so well written. The way it switched between Aki and Denji having a snowball fight, and then back to Chainsaw Man vs the Gun Fiend was done perfectly! Aki was one of my favorite characters (if not my favorite character) in the whole manga, so seeing Denji try so hard to bring him back, and then having to kill him in the end, makes me wanna cry every time (just thinking about makes me sad😢)
