  • Boston, the incredible Museum Of Bad Art (MOBA) in Boston, Massachusetts - a full tour, what to see! Let's travel to Boson and let's visit the very unique Museum Of Bad Art (MOBA) which is the world's only museum dedicated to the collection, preservation, exhibition and celebration of bad art in all its forms and which is located in Boston, Massachusetts in the USA. Since 1994, the Museum of Bad Art in Boston has been dedicated to bad art and its mission is to bring the worst of art to the widest of audiences. The exhibits at the Museum Of Bad Art (MOBA), at the time of my visit, were concentrating on bad portraits..
    Boston is Massachusetts’ capital and largest city. Founded in 1630, it’s one of the oldest cities in the U.S. The key role it played in the American Revolution is highlighted on the Freedom Trail, a 2.5-mile walking route of historic sites that tells the story of the nation’s founding. One stop, former meeting house Faneuil Hall, is a popular marketplace.

    That Marilyn Monroe painting is full of energy, exuberant joy and it's beautiful.

    That Rachelle Welsh painting is WAY better than any ugly Picasso. I find it much more interesting than boring, Nhilistic, deconstructionist Contemporary art.

    It's funny how these are considered bad art ... i find "bad art" infinitely more fascinating than any perfect hyper realistic painting out there ... goal of art imo is to be subjective to the author's perception of reality, not to be a photograph. Finding something universal in the individual, that's beauty.

    These look good! Why do people think art can be objectively bad?

    • @VicStefanu
      @VicStefanu  Před 2 lety

      As you said, it is an objective opinion as to what is bad art and what is good art... thank you for watching..

    (Cont'd) Then, again, Vic, my mind wanders back to the time I was first introduced to an art form developed in the Caribbean, namely, the Haitian Primitive, which pretty much follows the breakaway form you show us in video. Indeed, art has many expressions.

    Calling some of these work bad-art is upsetting to me. Wow.

    Do the painters know that their paintings being exhibited under ''bad art'' label and are subject of mockery of commons ?

    • @sissyrayself7508
      @sissyrayself7508 Před 6 lety +3

      NewbComboz yeah, sure they are..I'm sure there's nothing an artist likes better than being told the "experts": consider their art "bad".. yeah, sure..
      Other than the fact that most of these paintings are a hell of a lot less painful to look at than most of the Nhilistic, deconstruction-istic, Naked Emperor known as modern and post modern and contemporary art, the attitude of the museum itself does remind me if the way American Idol used to always be staged.
      I'm taking about how that show used to feature/ exploit developmentally delayed special needs people but the producers were always sure to show them "making new friends" during their audition.
      Modern Art, Post Modern Art, Contemporary Art, meh.. it's all about who you know and where you are. Pretentious bull crap.
      At least these artists put some human emotions, into their pieces. I honestly don't find any of Picossos periods to be "good" & in my opinion these so called "bad" artists show just as much skill level as any of the so called "good" modern, post modern and contemporary artists.
      The ONLY reason anyone thinks Picasso and those are came after him, are "good" is because we are trained from elementary school onwards to laud him, and other modern, post modern, and contemporary artists, and say they are "good".
      I can plainly see that this pushing in the public arena, to normalize Modern Art, and what came after it, is nothing more than proramming and propoganda.
      Therefore, I refuse to say that the Emperor's New Clothes in Art even actually exist, much less that they look good. It's not that I have no imagination, no sophistication, it's that I just hate lies.

    @VicStefanu...Thank you for something different, almost experimental, if you will, akin to that breakaway art form done by Andy Warhol. But from my perspective, as I watch your most interesting video unfold, an old saying comes to mind: de gustibus non est disputandum since art is a highly subjective expression. And thank you again, Vic.

    What i like about this is that is honest this people paint what they see in there on way the same is sound some people cant carry a tune in music that is what i think you cant teach art because regardless of teaching the basics rules of painting to a person the prospective and the way they see everything change with each individual don't forget some real good painters paint for money great balance great composition great movement but there paint sucks or is one more of millions no creativity so this is fany but is honest
