- In this video I walk you through the best medical schools to look into if you want to go to an international medical school, what their requirements are, and where they are located. Most people don't know these schools exist until late into their pre-med careers and so I hope this video helps breaks things down into digestible chunks.

If I missed any MD Program you know of that is known for taking in US students, please comment below so others can see them! If you can include a bit of info about them, even better, cheers! đ
AMAZING video. Thank you so much for sharing your research. It was really helpful
Hi Frank! Great video. You did not mention anything about med schools in Mexico. Can you make a video about Med schools in Mexico? especially about UAG. Thanks!
Wow. I appreciate this man
Glad I could help đ
Thank you so much Extremely helpful information.
Thank you đ

One question :
Is the medical curriculum in these universities attested by an MD degree or a DO ?
Thnx!
@@Pln0710 all of the ones I listed are MD, I think DO schools are mainly only present in the US
@@frankmsimon Great ! Thank you much for your reply !
One of my nephews went to med school in France and very soon he will take the USMLE to be able to get a surgery fellowship in the US. He grew up in France but he is bilingual so he won't have any trouble. it is so much cheaper to become a doctor over there but it is very hard to get into med school. You need to pass a super tough exam after high school.
Very interesting video! As a Polish American, I certainly considered Jagiellonian in Krakow, but ended up studying at a U.S.-DO program. Acknowledging match metrics in your video was part of the reason why Iâm choosing to stay in the US, but do miss the chance of studying medicine abroad. Catch-22 situation :)
Try for an international rotation! Then you get the experience + have that US-based title đ
There are 6+ Schools in Poland that have Med School in English.
For being a nursing student in the ADN program (2year) I thinks itâs awesome that you include and amazing on the schools part that a bachelors is not needed. Gives me the opportunity to start taking medical school pre reqs courses instead of having to get my bsn then take pre req courses. My Top 1 choice is SGU and they state
âA bachelorâs degree (or its equivalent) is required, which includes all the required science coursework.â
Does that mean an associates + pre req science courses that could equal 90-120 hours is equivalent to a bachelors degree? And could be accepted?
I'm not really sure to be honest with you, best bet would be to contact them most likely, definitely an option though!
People dont want to hear this, but he 'best' IMG medical schools for the states are the established and prestigious schools that are NOT (frankly) diploma mills for unmatched American students. Those would be Oxford, Cambridge, Edinburgh... bar none. Yes, you will most likely be able to match somewhere from UQ or Sackler (they are good schools), but if you really want a top program/speciality you would practically need to be a real 'img.'
People got to IMG because they canât get into US units. Oxford would therefore be out of question cuz it is even harder to get into
This is the most dumbest thing I have ever heard. It would be analogous to a Russian kid who couldn't get into a Russian medical school and then someone suggesting to the kid to go to Harvard or Yale lmao
Thank you sooo much for your help. I am curious which international med school is best for getting into Gen Surg residency in the US after med school. Appreciate it.
Mainly depends on the individual from my perspective, the school can give you opportunities but itâs up to you in the end, Iâd say check out the match list for whatever school youâre looking at though
You forgot ELAM which is in cuba and is free
Iâm considering MUA-did you happen to find rotation spots where students go or any information for residency?
So for rotations at MUA I know students can go to either US or Canadian affiliated teaching hospitals (full list here under "hospital teaching sites": www.mua.edu/md-program/clinical-medicine). In terms of residency, I didn't do too much research there so I can't speak to that very well.
There are 6+ Schools in Poland that have Med School in English.
i want to go to argentina so muchhh
Is that tuition for the entire program or per year?đź
What about UAG?
Any plans to make a video on Carrebean vs Irrland med schools?
Not at the moment, I think itâll mostly be about my experience in UQ-Ochsner since Iâm here now
Why no med schools in mexico? There's a great one in Monterrey where my family is from.
He did not do a good job of researching. UAG in Mexico gets Financial Aid and is a top medical school in Mexico producing thousands of Md's for >50 years. Don't always believe everything you hear and do your own research!!
I've checked the UQ-Ochsner program online and it seems like they do require an undergraduate degree prior to entrance. Is this the case?
Yea, they ask for an undergraduate degree. They also have some specific prerequisite classes on their site I believe.
Thank you@@frankmsimon
Is your course at oshner accepting Canadian citizens
So for the UQ-Oschner program where we go back to the US for years 3/4 itâs only for US students, that being said thereâs a good amount of Canadians here at UQ Med but theyâre here for the full 4 years is the difference
What about National Universidad autĂłnoma de Guadalajara?!
I consider it the Harvard of Mexico. Organ based like US and accepts Financial Aid. Poorly made vid!!!
Do you know if any of these medical schools are pass/fail? Or are all grade-based?
Iâm not exactly sure, I can only speak for UQ-Ochsner for that where we have 2 classes P/F and 2 are graded
is there any US medical school in United Arab Emirates?
Mmm I know there are some programs that allow for med student rotations (because I was interested đ€) but not too sure about full on schools designed for students to come back to US tbh, if you find out Iâd love to know as well
sooo what if i wanna go med school in another country and stay in that country rather than coming back to the us? i have no desire to come back here
Meeeee
You could try UQ-O where Iâm at right now if youâre really interested, a few people stay in Australia every year since we have the option!
Be careful in your choice because these schools with a few exception do not guarantee you acceptance into a local internship or residency program which are reserved for their own citizens. They want your money but don't want you to stay. There are a few exceptions but very few. Internships and Residency programs are funded by the gov. for their citizens n most other countries.
Another option medical school of PĂ©cs itâs a tough curriculum but itâs in Europe and after your graduation you can work in every European country as long as you speak the language in that country
Is the tution cost per year or for entire program?
For the entire program
@@frankmsimon Thank you for making such a great video. Looking forward for more.
Why didnât any African university appear on the options?
If in English they were setup by the British and do not follow the American program approach. He seems to have narrowed it down that way because he is doing this for those who are primarily Americans and have to write the USMLE exams in a timely fashion.
I got accepted at RCSI, Trinity, Dublin University, KAU(Saudi)
All MBBS
and i chose kau for it's high ranking
KAU is the best school in the Middle east too idk why you didn't mention itđ it's ranked 1st in MENA and in both Medicne and as a whole
And 98 world wide
is it based in Jeddah? how much does it cost to study MEd at KAU?
which is best ? Joining SGU in Grenada or RCSI?
SGU
@@Spicytots5 can u specify why?
Depends what you want. SGU has no research of any consequence and is not a real university in the same sense as RCSI which has established research programs and is world ranked. Pass rates on USMLE exams are similar so you need to look into both and see if either are what you are looking for.
Just want to add the latest QS WUR ranks the RCSI in the top 200 medical schools in the world.
always go to ireland, its at least a real uni.
forgot about Ben Gurion in Israel
this university is in my hometown! Everyone in my hometown knows that ben gurion is a good university. As far as their med school is concerned, I would not really be able to provide much info except that they do have a good match rate.
forgot universidad de panama
@@gizmo38bit's program is not geared for US students in the way the schools mentioned are. Name me all the hospitals in the US it is affiliated with.
If you are residing in the US and want to practice medicine in US after becoming a physician. Stay away from International med schools.
