Rain always a part of the Rebild festival. Usually when we have attended, we have had raincoats, umbrellas and waterproof stuff to sit on along. Very fun.

My Dad's Mom , my Grand mother, when I was a Child , used to perform at Rebil Bakker , Jutland, on stage with her group off Danish Folk Dancing group. All in Folk Costumes. Years before I migrated to the U.S. , which she did not live to experience. Amazing.🇺🇸🌷🇩🇰😍🌅🙏

I have actually never been to the Rebild Festival, even my parents (and myself, when I was young) lived in Rebild from 1976 till 2022. In any case the area is beautiful, I I always looking forward to my next visit.

In the eighteenth century, a very large part of the Danish population immigrated to the United States. It has been quite challenging for these Danes to change culture and live far from home. And I think the three of you can totally relate to that. Moving your "fence posts" across the Atlantic is a feat. I think you are doing great!

I went to Rebildfest with my parents in 1969. I got to shake hands with then VP Hubert Humphrey. I was eleven and we traveled all around DK for ten weeks visiting my parents homeland and numerous family members.
(I also have a DK born cousin that lives here in CA who has been active on the Rebild committee. ) 🇩🇰🇺🇸

13:06 Actually Jacob Dinesen is not from that part of Denmark (Himmerland), but from Tønder in Sønderjylland near the Danish-German bordrer.
Btw. the full name of the Danish actor playing JFK in the movie Jackie is Caspar Phillipson.
Rebild Bakker is a Danish national park and very beautiful place to walk around in and also connected to Denmark's second largest forest area Rold Skov.

Hope you read about "Rebild National Park" (or Rebild Bakker as we call it) online. There used to be a log cabin, build of logs from all American states. Unfortunately it burned down 5-10 years ago - if I remember correctly.
There's a video on CZcams about Rebild Festival named "Richard Chamberlain Rebild 1990".
Or just search "rebild july 4").

From our perspective it looks and feels like it has become the divided states of America. When the media paints a picture of Americans, it is of the extremes. You have obviously experience with the ordinary American, do you feel like the way US Is described is correct?
Have your perspective In politics in the US changed in the last year's?

@@TravelinYoung It does'nt matter. We all make small mistakes, when we talk. So it was in no way, to bother you. You do it really well, and I see everything you do. It is enormously cozy and at the same time exciting to see ones country, through the eyes of others. It is especially a little strange, that Americans choose to live in Denmark, as many danes "look up" to Americans and we are major consumers of american culture, especially film and music. I, unfortunately, have only been to the us twice. Miami and New York. And then it is difficult to understand, that you choose to move to little small flat Denmark. I had probably chosen to move south in the US, to the sun. Whoops, I was not supposed to write an entire novel. But thank you for sharing your love for Denmark. Still, one can not help but be a little proud of the country and the culture that our ancestors have built. We have a duty to continue this, with respect for diversity, freedom and democracy ❤️🇺🇲🇩🇰

    • @m4ster_root
      @m4ster_root Před 2 lety

@PIRATEN I really wouldn't call Rebild an important part of Denmark. It's definitely noteworthy! But in the grand scheme of things it's not really that important. It's a small town that many Danes doesn't even know much about.
I assume the town - and especially the festival - means a lot more to Americans living in Denmark than it does to Danes - like me - with no personal relations to America.
Please don't complain about a foreigners pronunciation of a danish town/city name - especially considering the video is in English - it doesn't matter how long you've lived in Denmark, the word Copenhagen will still be Copenhagen in English. And here you are talking about respect...
From where in the video did you get "Re bound Festival"? The only issue I hear - from the perspective of a danish pronunciation - is that the 'e' in Rebild should sound more like the danish 'æ'. Taking 're' from the word 'rest' and adding 'bild' would make it a "more Danish" pronunciation. But then you still have the American 'r'... Why does it even matter?
I - a Dane from Jutland - won't even pronounce 'Kjøwenhavn' correctly... I Also fail to see how your feelings for British English and American English have anything to do with this. You clearly suck at basic English...
