Exactly my question! How can someone like Matthew Perry become a drug addict (so they say) without getting the help he badly needed? Maybe the help came so if it did why wasn’t he able to end it successfully? Where were his family, friends, organizations etc.? He died because his heart could no longer survived with the abuse from drugs etc. He could have lived till 80 instead he passed at 54…way too young. 😢😢😢

I think when his colon burst years ago it has just had such a knock on effect on his body. Sadly his substance abuse must have manifested itself eventually. I suspect this is why he has died so early in life. It must have shortened his life span 😢
I agree. Wish he could have had a grounding positive force and made better choices. He also struggled with acceptance issues. He knew he could make ppl laugh and that made him happy but never could feel the ❤ we ALL have and continue to have for him!

Yes it's hard to believe someone with everything, could turn to abusing drugs etc....., but you can't underestimate the pain he was feeling inside. It must have weighed Heavy. But he turned his pain into Helping others. He's a Good man. His Legacy lives on.......... ❤️

And then, I've noticed what you crave the most you become very talented in. For me, it's understanding. I can walk into a room and pick up on the energy. My saving grace is my beliefs and not wanting anyone else feel these dark feelings I have at times. Not the best at acceptance. It's a daily cross. I have gotten better. My ❤ breaks for him because it was only rare occasions that he allowed feeling in because of not wanting to be hurt. I do that too. I'm lucky I have a family that I love and adore so I can try to deal with my issues...it's been a LONG journey.
What a brilliant interview. Great interactions with them all, charming, funny and gracious. Never boring. I have watched so many of his old interviews past 2 weeks and he has such a way with people so personable and witty.

I agree. I saw the Friends reunion promo, along with interviews about the reunion,and then, I saw an interview he did with Jimmy Kimmel when Matthew was doing Go On. The differences between the interviews were night and day. With Jimmy, Matthew was lively, animated, expressive, and had a great rapport with Jimmy. His speech was clear and prosody was great. The Friends reunion interviews I didn't see any of that. He wasn't full of life and he wasn't as expressive as or as happy. Still, I pray for him. GOD bless.
Proud of Matthew for working at overcoming his issues. Saw a clip of him for an award with respect to drug court involvement aka like Martin sheen as a advocacy person. Watching Charlie sheen struggle is hard but proud of so many people Charlie's age down to mid 40s who at a minimum are living healthy lives and maximum are desiring work and being professional on set.
