  • Another video about my Humber Sceptre Mk 3.
Having had the brakes fixed by a local garage, it's now roadworthy again.
Here's a short video of part of the journey home from the garage plus some other things I've done since the last Humber video.

Your videos about your Humber are really great, and very well edited IMHO. I have a Sceptre myself, and I find brake binding through under-use can be a pain.
I am trying to think what the exterior paint would be offered with that sky blue vinyl on the door panels!

Thanks for your comment. Really appreciate it and glad you like them. I need to make sure I keep using the car and avoid brake problems again, including through the winter. The colour's Rootes midnight blue I believe. Hope you enjoy driving your Sceptre.

lovley video and car. I remember these well. I am more into the classic bikes and have a few but still fond of the cars!

I had one of these back in 1976 through to about 1980ish sold it for £40 when the front wings rotted and the gearbox needed a overhaul. Replaced it with a new 1.3L Escort.. urgh what a mistake that was!
I should have kept it and rebuilt the box and replaced the front wings, we live and learn.

That's a shame, but sometimes you just need something you can rely on. This had the front wings replaced 20-25 years ago. I can't remember if they had been replaced before or not. Apart from the syncromesh being a bit reluctant in 2nd when it's cold, I've not noticed anything nasty from the gear box, so hope it stays that way! Thanks for watching.
