THANK YOU for not shooting a steel target for the test! So many channels will shoot at a steel target in suppressor videos and it defeats the whole purpose
Listen how quiet my can is! BONG BONG BONG. Like and subscribe for more!
Big difference with the polonium. Also thanks for testing with the same camera angle and not hitting steel haha
I hate videos of guns shooting steel, you completely miss the test and the video, I close the video right away
Good editing. No BS, straight to the point, with back to back section. Thumbs up bro
So happy I just purchased a Polonium K. I know it wasn't in this, but its performance vs size vs value is close to unbeatable at this moment.
Great Video!
I'm curious to get a K outdoors, but I think you made a good choice!
No personal experience with either the polo or polo k (yet) but from what I have read and from pew science testing, the k is noticeably less gassy while compromising sound performance
No excessive talking, and no steel targets. Perfect video. Thanks!
By far the greatest comparison test of different cans on YT
No bullshit video and an included back to back section to save on scrubbing through the video, appreciated
No fillers, has chapters to click on, OUTSTANDING!
This video dead ass helped me pick mines very helpful a straight to the point thinking bout that ocl waiting a year might be worth it
Great video. No filler. Straight to action.
great video, thank you. I have the SIerra 5 with the e brake on the end on a PWS mk111. absolutely no recoil.
I'm liking my Sierra 5 so far, no issues with it yet
This is such a good video. Thanks for making it!
It can be difficult to get a good idea on each can if they're fired on multiple firearms with different barrel lengths/components, love the idea of the comparison though!
We try to get close but some mounts, such as the AE brakes, are only set to fit on certain platforms. We may hot-swap muzzle devices on the range one of these days in order to keep the host the same.
Best video of suppressor comparisons hands down. Like someone else stated other channels shoot at steel which like come on, that’s dumb 😂
Very nice, I like the crispness of SOCOM’s!
Great job dude no bs just good content! Subscribed!
man, this would have been the perfect comparison video if the hosts were the same. thanks for doing it regardless.
It's hard to get all the same hosts. Maybe we'll get a setup where we can swap muzzle devices at the range. We've got a 20+ 5.56 host suppressor comparison video in the works.
Yes, we're planning a night video. All hosts will be a close as possible, probably 10.3-12.5. We're planning to capture shots with both a standard camera and behind a PVS14.
I came across this looking for a video on the OCL Polonium. And I have to say, for the price, it seems like a really great suppressor.
As much as I would love a Surefire, I cannot justify that price tag. My local shop has the OCL for $579, and I'm thinking that will do just fine.
Such a good video man
Great video man
Great video bro. Subbed
I was impressed with the polo and seirra 5. Considering the size of the seirra 5 makes it all the more impressive. If it wasn't for DAs qa debacle, that can would be getting a lot of love.
Size to sound ratio, the Sierra 5 definitely takes the win. Polonium also sounds very good, but is a bit larger.
@@joesrcool I want a Sierra 5 so but but they seem to keep turning into stamped maracas
Thanks for this!
Great video. Right to the point and no BS. 👍
I think the Dead Air Sierra 5 and OCM5 and Polonium all sounded really really good. The OCM5 was the quietest for sure. And it’s amazing seeing the Polonium hang with these other more expensive cans. I actually bought a Polonium.
For sure... convinced me to get a Polonium for myself.
They all sound the same...
The ocl and the dead air are about the same, both are extremely effective. Socom seems like a piece made for redhot gun battles.
OCL cans were definitely the quietest.
Awesome video. Straight to what everyone wants to see and hear. Not 15 minutes of bs and 15 minutes of chasing Ron Jeremy.
I absolutely love my Polonium, totally hearing safe with my personal testing when outdoors
The rifle with the OCM5 was the only one that wasn't super overgassed. I wouldn't have thought that the smaller cans would have added so much bolt velocity, but maybe the rifles were gassy beforehand (which is pretty common.)
You wouldn't believe how many people have commented about my guns throwing casings in the 3-5 o'clock range and said it was "inconsiderate." Though im guessing they're the same folks that shoot maybe 200 rounds per year and think that screwing a few pieces together & driving some pins qualifies as a "build." Eh, just need a little insight/education i suppose.
I appreciate the back-to-back comparison montage at the end though. I wish more folks would do that. But It's also virtually impossible to get a real sense of what each setup sounds like in a video (specifically with a camera/audio setup that levels the noise and compresses everything.) But there's not a lot you can do for that, unfortunately. I just enjoy this format. I think you may have gotten lucky that the wind was at your back so the gas was immediately blown away from your face. That shit sucks. There's nothing that can ruin a good time like your rifle making you feel like you're crying 😆😂
no bullshit video. earned my sub
That MK18 build is beautiful. The best combat setup in modern times. Specifically in the field of combat.
Damn those Surefire's are loud.
Well done
Away from the suppressor, amazing 🤩 rifles
Nice comparison. The Polo is such a great value. That mini mk12 with the ocm5 seemed l like the only rifle that wasn't horrifically over gassed. Was it tuned with an agb or brt ez tune?
It is not, just an H3 buffer. I was surprised on how well gassed that combo is. Criterion 12.5 with carbine length gas.
@@joesrcool Very nice! H3 is a lot of buffer! I would if it would be flatter shooting with a BRT EZ Tune and a lighter buffer. It's probably super reliable as is, though.
It runs so well the way it is, I'm planning on not messing with it. Now my LMT guns, they may be getting some BRT tubes. I put one in the 13.5in .308, and it's a whole new gun.
The wind made it a bit hard to tell, The longer suppressor was louder and the mini was louder I think... they type of sound was hard to pin down thou from the wind. they make different types of sounds like deeper vs shallow....
Im assuming thats a Warcomp on the Mk18? You can see it jetting gas out of the mount under the can once you shoot a few rapidly. I had to swap mine for a brake but it brought the sound down *VERY* noticeably
The ocm 5 was nice
Would be ideal if you had used the same rifle for all the cans as a control to rule out sound differences due to barrel length and gas system variabilties.
Yeah, I agree. I need to work on gathering spare mounts for each can and figuring something out for the more obscure stuff.
they're all loud. i think we should be comparing how much flash they make at night after a couple magazines.
Best recoil out of the group?
need to record from like 50m away
Man that sound of the both Socom sounds good 👍🏾
All the Surefires seemed louder.
polo sierra ocm sound exactly the same based on the video mic but unfortunately we cant have suppressors here in california bc this state sucks
between the polonium and ocl which sounds quieter? It seems almost the same in the video so I feel like the polonium is a much better choice in price and length and weight, the ocl is aesthetically pleasing though.
Purely subjective, the OCM5 sounded quieter to our ears
OCM5 for the win !
The two SOCOMS almost sound like they're unsuppressed.
I liked seeing the direction of the brass ejecting, which alludes to back pressure. A little disappointed to see how over-gassed Surefire cans make the gun. OTL for the best flow through win.
I wouldn't read too far into this, as each host was different. If we were to use the same rifle for all the cans, then you could make a better comparison. This is something we'll try to do in the future, we just need to select a host and acquire more mounts.
i was thinking the rc2 mini for my 14.5 ddm4v7
Definitely looks over gassed. Ejecting at 2pm. I'd drop an adjustable gas block or tune it with a buffer spring combo. I'm aware you can run a suppressed rifle at 2 o'clock and be fine, but it's not ideal. What's people's problem with steel? If your shooting a ISPC plate we at least know your not shooting 100 moa. Also the ding of steel doesn't take away from how quiet a suppressor can be. 50K rds down range to verify it. 223/556 can be quiet, but it still makes a bit of noise, unlike 220gr 300BO, or 165gr 9mm through a 7.5"- 10.5" barrel. Yes the 165gr 9mm round doesn't have the ballistics like 300BO or 556,but a 9mm can blow a lung completely out of your body. It's what Uncle Joey said. Hunter is the smartest guy he knows. Nice demonstration though.
Is that an 11.5 bcm with the polonium?
Yes, it is an 11.5
A really good video. But where's the decibel meter?
I've been shopping, but the good ones are $$$
@@joesrcool From what I understand, they're specialized equipment and very pricey. Most makers don't even list a dollar amount.
Yup. I've been browsing ebay. Then trying to find the right mics and calibration tools, let alone documentation on how to use it all.... It's been quite the endeavor.
The ocm5 test. What rail is on that rifle?
PRI Gen III Intermediate length handguard with Recce length top rail
This video is the fuckin standard of comparison videos…
OCL OCM5 seemed quietest
What hand guard is that on the 4th rifle?
PRI Gen III Intermediate Length, with the PRI Recce Length top rail... barrel is 12.5in
Polonium has the best tone to it.
Stock name on the rifle with OCL OCM5? thanks a lot!
ACE Socom stock
DAS 5 is king !
....as long as it doesn't blow. Regardless, I think it sounds better than anything else its size.
Is that 10 or 12 inch barrel?
Barrel lengths in order... 10.3, 11.5, 10.5, 12.5, and 10.3 again
❤️🔥🤙🏻🇺🇸
Question?
Was all the ammo the same as well as subsonic?
Has anyone out there ever done a decimal test with all the different ammo types/variations?
Suppose you have a barrel and a supressor that is pin and welded, does that make a difference in sound?
Has anyone done a sound test in relating to direct impingement vs gas piston driven?
Side question?
Does anyone know what the psi inside the barrel once the projectile is fired?
Is there a sound/psi relation?
This run used all the same ammo. We've run a suppressed night comparison with different ammo, but we were just looking at flash signature, not sound. Barrel length has been proven to change suppressed sound levels, Griffin does some good videos with different barrel lengths using the same can/ammo. I'm sure a DI/Piston comparison has been done. We have plenty of each at similar barrel lengths we could compare. Higher pressure rounds will likely make more sound. Some rifle cans are rated to support 4000ft/lbs of energy and higher.
Interesting?
Do you know why it wont cycle?
More details....

Why the suppressor reviewers are shooting from ejection port side?
Just trying different setups, but you are on to something. You do get more accurate suppressor audio from the non ejection port side, and that's likely where we'll place the camera/mic when doing sound comparisons going forward.
Surefires suck at sound suppression but are built like tanks.
Why is it that some of the brass gets ejected at the 1 o clock and on another rifle at the 5 o clock?
Different hosts and differing amounts of gas being introduced to the operating system. Traditionally, overhassed guns will show a more forward ejection pattern while a more properly gassed gun will show more neutral 3-4 o'clock ejection. As long as the brass is coming out and it's locking back when empty, I don't pay too much attention.
@@joesrcool thank you
Noticeable amount of gas leaking behind the Surefire muzzle devices. Everything else sounds the same
I noticed that too when editing. Muzzle device on that one was a SF 4-prong.
Surefire engineered them to leak gas bottom left of the back of the suppressor. Not sure why they want that gas bleed off like that but mine does it too.
Yankee hill?
Aero precision?
Unfortunately, neither myself nor my friends have any YHM or Aero cans. The new Turbo 3 looks interesting.
Its 556, what do you expect. Can't sub that round.
No love for the oil filter.
What’s the whitest from best to worse?
Whitest or quietest? They're all black except for one. Quietness from a bystander perspective: OCM5 > Polonium > Sierra 5 > Socom556 RC > SOCOM556-Mini2
ConcIusion: They are aII Ioud AS.
5.56 suppressors are not quite, this isnt the movies. Its more the round, its still going over 1000ft per second so its not gonna be silent.
@@easbreid9879 lt's actually 1,125 FPS and that's why l said they are aII LAF. Supposedly the new cat 5.56 cans ARE quiet with 5.56/.223 but l'll beIieve it when l hear it. So far l'm not that impressed. Either way the test in this video was basically a WOT.
@@Siragray yeah not to mention its really at the mercy of the quality of the microphone
@@Siragray to be honest i couldnt really tell the difference between any of them but my hearing is destroyed anyway
What barrel length for the first gun?
10.3in
@@joesrcool thank you sir.
Surfire Socom all day baybay
SOCOM is a solid can. Skip the Warcomp if you're running suppressed most of the time.
@@joesrcool Pew Science Agrees
What is your top 3 cans of them all and why , I need help picking a can but need a different opinion and perspective from someone who has real life experience with them
Just buy an OCL polonium. I’ve used them and they’re great
0:30 is that a DD Ar?
No, it's a mix of random parts. Pretty sure it's an 11.5 with a BCM handguard and ADM lower.
@@joesrcool Thanks! That helped. It looks dope
Would have been better if decibels included in each section
I agree, but finding reliable test equipment is pretty expensive. It is something I've been shopping for.
all on different guns. Moot.
We have so many mounts, it's hard to get them on the same host. We'll try...
All sound the same to me
Next time use the same rifle
We'll look at doing this in the future, need to acquire spare muzzle devices so we can swap them at the range
HUX Flow is the best.
S5 sounds the best
It's a great can for the size.... if they don't explode
@@joesrcool old news on old production cans. New ones are 🤌🏻
@@joesrcool Clearly you’re living under a rock. That’s 18 months ago SiCo is the new red headed step child with half their lineup on recall….. 🤣
polonium: 750 with tax stamp, rc2: 1200 with tax stamp.....
From here the o'clock and dead air were about equal and the surefire were loud as he'll almost like u were shooting super sonic with surefire and sub with the other 2.. wish there was a huxwrx to compare
Ocl not o'clock damn auto correct and why do only some videos let u edit a comment
C0c@ine's a hell of a drug, sir.
Shot with a guy using a Huxwrx the other night... as loud as a Sandman K and might as well be considered a flash enhancer, as there were massive first round fireballs. It may be low back pressure, but I was not impressed.
@joesrcool well I'm glad you saved me some money I was thinking I wanted a surefire or huxwrx, but that ocl seems the best, u promise u were using regular in the rest and sub sonics in the ocl?
Ha, yeah. All that ammo was the same. The Polonium shown in this video belongs to a buddy of mine. I was so impressed, I went ahead and picked up my own.
The ocem5 sounds the best. Its also the longest to so
Switching out guns makes it an irrelevant comparison.
Look at the brass ejection patterns to see which setup is actually running well.
Definitely shouldn’t be looking over your back right shoulder behind you seeing brass. Should be at your 2 or 3 oclock
Definitely trust fund
all the same shit
The mini 2 not worth
It's not made for a barrel that short. Fantastic on a 16in AR
Dead air was best imo
I think the the polonium and the siera 5 were the quitest
