- Joyce Meyer speaks to members of the media after her deposition in the Chris Coleman murder case. Meyer and her son Dan Meyer appeared at the Monroe County courthouse to give a taped deposition in the case against her former bodyguard Chris Coleman. Coleman is charged with killing his wife and two sons. Police theorize that Meyer discouraged divorce and Coleman feared he would lose his job if he divorced his wife. Coleman was having an affair with Tara Lintz his wife's high school friend.

When I was in prison I remember her church sent ALL of us there a gift package with soap shampoo sweets and other thing that were very helpful.To be honest I was truly surprised because her org. was one of the very few who remembered those who were truly last. That took alot of thought and money and love. Yeah she sent a really uplifting note reminding us that we were not forgotten by God. How many people now a days truly go see prisoners and widows???

I think it was about how if he was discovered committing adultery and getting a divorce he would lose his job. I live near that family about 11 miles he was caught from the get go driving and video and video at wal mart where he bought bought the rope and cleaning materal. Also seen on video by Jefferson Barracks bridge throwing the left over rope out the window of his car. He met a stripper in Florida and she was high maintenance for her. So he kill her so he won.t have to divorced her and the kids for the insurance money. Both Joyce and her husband travel the world giving food and water to those who are starving, and let's face it that costs money.
She has also earned a lot of money (and quite rightly so) from the considerable amount of books she has written and the DVDs she has made. No one is forced to buy these, just as no one is forced to give or send her donations. Her company has headquarters all over the world and obviously these cost money to run and staff.
She offers wise words and comfort to those who are suffering in one way or another and her videos are available on CZcams to watch completely free of charge.
In due respect, anyone who sends money to any Preacher asking for a 'miracle' is no more than a fool, as it is God who gives miracles and NOT the Preacher.
Ask God for help in the first instance, he will never ask for money.

Its sad when we don't read and get understanding from the word of god for ourselves. One thing I've have learned from reading the word is that, the pastors who teaches us sometimes make mistakes and they are not perfect, so reading the Bible for yourself is very important. When a teacher of the word teaches a sermon, you have to listen and go over what he have said.

I don't get it. Joyce Meyer herself was divorced in the past. I would believe she'd be more empathatic about a situation like this. I can see how she might discourage divorce, but not hold it against him or terminate his employment if it was the only solution. She has helped many people and I have learned much from her teachings. I do pray that God grants covering and healing to all parties involved in this tragedy.

I recall seeing an add of Joyce posing for a photo with a young orphan child, and holding up a bowl of rice. They both had on a big smile, and I remember thinking, ""With all her millions, and all she can offer is rice"?

Just because she has millions doesn’t mean she’s obligated to provide anything. The fact that she did is great. People act like millionaires have an obligation to help less fortunate people and when they do, people criticize what they’ve done as not being enough. I think that some people who are not millionaires are angry with those who are. Being a millionaire is not a sin. Joyce Meyer gave less fortunate people some rice and I would be willing to bet money that those who were on the receiving end of that rice were more appreciative of it than you appear to be.

Her angry, knee-jerk reaction to divorce comes from her own (to quote myself), gut-level fear of being cheated on and left alone. All her fame, fortune, and messages from above (including the Sermon on the Mount or the Book of Matthew) doesn't change that's where she's coming from.
