  • I ran into a fix problem when pre assembling the 1970 Revell Plymouth Roadrunner for the USACC group build.
    For the CZcams Algorithm: Revell AMT Johan Tamiya hasegawa aoshima 1/24 1/25 scale plastic model car kit
    If you haven’t gotten this far with your project I suggest watching this simple fix to make your body fit better over the chassis.
    I’ll be away for a couple weeks so we’ll resume this build in November.
    Take care,
    James

      Thanks Jeff for watching. I’ve received lots of positive feedback from this video series. I will do more like this. For the door handles, I drilled tiny holes in the center and then connected the dots with a hobby knife then smoothed it all out with sandpaper.

    I restart modeling since the covid after 20 years. I'm surprise to see many kit with this problem. Most of revell and Amt kit are old. Only reboxing or new decals over the years. This one originaly from 2000 and have reboxing recently.
    To solve a problem llike this we need to heat the frame or use krazy Glue.
    Im not sure revell with do something in the next few years to solve this problem.
    My opinion

      Hi Jay, thanks for watching and welcome back to the hobby. Yes this kit is an old one but wait till you see how it finishes! I’ll be done with it soon but cannot show it until 3/15.

  • @dwightatnorthernstar1820

    Thank you, almost every model I have had these similar fit issues, do you always use a white glue to do test fits? Nice looking car eh?

    • @ScaleModelExperiment
      @ScaleModelExperiment  Před rokem +1

      Hi Dwight, thanks for watching. Yes, unless it’s a Tamiya model I test fit my models to make sure everything fits the way I want. I hate modifying painted parts.

    What did u use to hold everything together for mock up?

    • @ScaleModelExperiment
      @ScaleModelExperiment  Před rokem

      Hi Jeff, I prefer to use Elmers school white glue. You have to be patient but it holds everything together well enough for test fitting. Disassembly is easy and little cleanup is needed afterwards. Try it out sometime!

    • @ScaleModelExperiment
      @ScaleModelExperiment  Před rokem

      Hi Jesse, thanks for watching. I suggest that you mock up the interior and put it into place. Mark where the window is on the door panel and duplicate what I did in the video. You’ll see immediately what I mean.

    When doing a mock up like this before paint do you use glue?

    • @ScaleModelExperiment
      @ScaleModelExperiment  Před rokem +1

      Hi Fabian, yes I use Elmer’s white glue to hold the pieces together for mock-up building. It peels right off when you are ready to paint.
