    Good lesson. Cad is a real word. It's old fashioned, not used much, but it means a boy or man who does not act in a respectful manner.

    Did you notice that while you didn’t want to add a short u sound to “d”, you consistently added it to the sound of the letter “g”, saying “g says gu”.

      Yes, I realized it later too. This video was before I had a mic and was trying to make the sound louder so it could be heard. Definitely, make sure the schwa isn’t modeled for students. 😅

      If you say 'cad' is real word, how to explain 'cad' to your Kindergarten group?

      @@debreale5236 it's a word but not something kindergarteners would know or should know. I always ask students if it's a word we know. If it's not something I expect they should know, I quickly tell them it is a word but it's a word for big kids, one that we don't need to worry about right now.

    I’m sorry, but ‘cad’ is a real word, and not all that uncommon. Please be sure not to give your students bad information.

      Know better, do better. In the moment, I didn’t think it was a real word. It’s impossible to be perfect all the time… even for our students! There isn’t a way for me to edit this video. I’m planning on remaking this video in the future but until then, please extend grace. 😊
