In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion. - Komedie
I love Victoria. Even more for saying Alex is what she wants on television. Alex is tv magic
I've thought for years that if I could pick someone off TV to be friends with it'd be Alex Horne, so Victoria summed that up well!
Alex is TV magic. Alex is radio magic. And he’s podcast magic.
Alex is magic.
Alex Is Brilliant
Love Alex. He is funny and extremely talented And his music on 8 out of 10 Cats does Countdown is brilliant always 🥰
The best part about Taskmaster is that the outtakes could fit perfectly in with the usual show. It's just a good time all around.
They should just make the show 30 mins longer and include more banter.
@@michaelcolbourn6719 I personally disagree. Too much talking is the reason why I quit watching Pointless even if I liked the format but that's just me.
@@wciii6592 I agree with pointless cos the chat is boring. 7 comedians in a room isn't.
I wish we got everything uncut like the 80s
@@michaelcolbourn6719 they could release regular episodes and then extended versions like QI XL or sth
As Victoria said, it really is weird without an audience. It's so eerily quiet. We can't even hear the crew.
Am I the only one who prefers the level of awkwardness that it unmasks?
I enjoyed the no-audience environment for what it gave us for something new, but I'm more than ready to get back to the original style. Mostly for Greg's behavior, I miss how often sort of hilariously combative he'd wind up getting into with the crowd.
I loved it.
So much better
@@kevinw712 I agree with you on both sides. This format threw me off for one series but then I grew to enjoy it. But I do really miss the audience-based shenanigans and reactions.
The last scene fucking kills me. Especially the brief pause where it's quiet and Greg says "...think I can't?"
8:08 Refusing him the ability to explain and just asking for a name is comedic genius right here 😁
Lovely to see Alex genuinely laughing.
"I will roundhouse you on television" might be my favorite Greg Davies quote.
Up there with "I'll be on you like a puma." 😂
6:23 is the moment where Victoria, Alex and Greg all have the same pun that works so well, it’s beautiful
Alex is far more sassy than what is shown on regular TM!
Yes when I've met him he's extremely gallant, charming, and together 💙
Well, it's his show.
"Ah, very old..." really surprised me in that sense LOL
I feel like he's grown increasingly sassy over time.
it's really weird to actually see, that he's actually in charge and responsible for it. And also that they get along very well despite the sassiness on both sides.
I guess the massive success helps.
I agree with Victoria's comment, I think Alex is perfect... very weird, but always funny
disagree with her crumpet comment, though, they need to be softer
@@iamdb1990 crispy crumpets ftw
@bad1dobby softER, they can have a harder outside crust (for lack of a better word lol) but the middle needs to be foldable (again, for lack of a better way of wording it lol) if you can't fold it, it's overdone, or as I've done all too many times before getting a toaster, full on burnt lol
Alex Horn is a genius! Developing this show and then making himself the assistant and the butt of everyone's jokes and wrath.
honestly greg getting angry is just a sight to behold
Honestly seeing Greg almost not able to complete a joke because he’s laughing is better
Honestly seeing Greg almost not able to complete a joke because he’s laughing is better
The fact that I laughed just as hard at the outtakes as I did the actual show just shows how amazing Taskmaster is. I love how every series has its own dynamic with the cast but also between Greg and Alex, sheer perfection. I mean I get why they cut the flying horseman bit because it runs a bit long but my god I was dying! Here's hoping for a great series 13!
Very appreciative we get these videos! I was laughing the whole time, good fun.
This is one of my favourite outtakes! XD
the alex wife insult still makes me laugh
The last one was incredibly hilarious :'D
I always love outtakes.
But they also make me realize how much I miss crowd noise in the studio.
I think TM will definitely step up a gear when the audience returns.
Well, this was the last series (hopefully ever) filmed without an audience.
@@MisterAppleEsq Omicron says, "Hold my beer."
We could've been done with COVID months ago if there weren't so many stupid people around in the world.
Yeah all those stupids believing the government! 80 weeks to flatten the curve wasn’t it. We were so close!!
@@MM-ev1fg homie will still be saying that in 50 years
What an absolutely phenomenal cast - right up there alongside series 4 and 7!! :-)
My exact thoughts! 4, 7, and 12 are my favorites
Hugh was a little unnecessary in series 4, 7 was brilliant though.
Add 5 to that list - purely for the song task - and they are the best serieses
Series 7? Wang made that series absolutely unwatchable for me
@@masterboby1 Really? It was so small you hardly saw it.
They might've noticed that outtakes from their past seasons have been going around
yhep. That's one of the reasons I love this show. Their online presence is fantastic.
To je fair they did s11 last time too. But these might have gone out faster. Aldo they have been posting some of these Instagram
Someone should make a tierlist of all the ways Greg introduces Alex at the start of the episode
"He says he's over 6 foot but he's only 5 foot 4, its little Alex Horne!! 🎶"
My absolute favourite was a hotdog rolled in cat hair (or something like that).
There's a whole sub-category of "meat with hair" insults to sort through
Aren't we all meat with hair though
@@BudBonkerson if you throw fox hair at a cylinder of meat 😭😭
Alan's monster noise in the final nearly had me on the floor
*wow*
wooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWW
Victoria is so quick witted. I love her little monologues/...rants... 😅
you know what would be brilliant - a compilation of all the ad breaks we didn't get to see this series. i would genuinely love love love that.
oh god yes, I sorely miss the ad breaks
@@ydfgydg she means the little bits before the ads that they don't include include on CZcams version
@@siramea i'm pretty sure we all mean the same thing haha
@@Stepanka1111 yes :D
"Go adverts! GO!!!!!" 😂
I second what Victoria said about Alex! He is the ultimate show runner and I would gladly watch anything he does! He has enriched our lives, brought us so much joy and laughter and helped me personally and so many others get through the pandemic w HomeTasks!
Thank You Alex Horne!
“Smelly back cake” is among the most upsetting things I’ve ever heard.
It's a shame really - it could've made a great title for an episode.
Awesome, thanks! Will we ever get to see series 11's outtakes, incidentally? I've read that a lot of Lee Mack's wit never made it to air, can only imagine what he must have been saying!
I have seen the one he has a fight with the phone on the plane, it's so funny! Defenitly want to see more of that
There are already several season 11 outtakes, including a legendary outtake of Lee Mack involving a hedgehog. What you're on about?
@@Prelmable There's a few, yes. It sounds like there's so much more though!
@@RuailleBuaille Like WILTY? Nope, there is probably hours of it
so much of Lee's quick wit is missing simply because the production cameras used by the Dave channel aren't capable of shooting in a high enough frame rate to catch it
The last bit is the best 🤣 never saw greg so “human” in this series
We need Taskmaster XL with more banter included.
THIS!
In that moment, we were all thinking "Wombling free"
alex really is the heart of the show, this was hilarious
What are you talking about, Taskmaster Greg Davies is obviously the heart and soul and brains of the whole operation and Alex is but his lowly assistant, everyone knows that, how dare you
The show is Alex's creation, and in the original Edinburgh versions he was the taskmaster. Obviously it works better with Greg being teacher, but all of the stupid tasks are Alex's responsibility.
@@humblescribe8522 Mate, they're joking.
So wish they'd do another series with this cast
We say this every season and collectively fall in love with the next bunch anyway
I wish they'd do another one with every series' cast.
Every series would have one person that ranged from 'doesnt really do it for me' to 'yeh gawds, glad we are seperated by a sea', but other than that every contestant was at the very least entertaing, but with great chemistry with a few others.
Watching Alex trying to direct the show while Greg keeps missing the cue while becoming increasingly upset is easily the highlight of these outtakes for me. It's such a great fusion of showrunning meets their unique flavour of on-screen chemistry. Also hearing Greg going on about his increasingly dynamic (read: lethal) roundhouse kicks is amazing
The last bit is perhaps the funniest moment I’ve ever seen throughout all 13 series!! I genuinely cramped from laughing so hard for so long
Victoria complimenting Alex in the beginning made my heart swell
I just love Alan wheezing in the background.
I don't envy the editors who have to cut this show down to fit its time slot!!
So much good stuff has to end up on the cutting room floor.
Victoria is too fulfilled, loving, and gracious to be on this show.
The lack of audience gives it a feel of a bunch of friends hanging out together and its still really fun to watch
Can we all appreciate that it's actually Alex's show (and another comedian who I can't remember the name off) and Alex just let's Greg do this like it's nothing
Tim Key, he was on the first series
@@jimmy_the_squid9456 ah thank you I've been trying to remember who it was
Tim Key is just a 'task consutant' in the credits because, as Alex put it, he runs things by him down the pub sometimes ^^
Tim Key was the inspiration because Alex wanted to create a game that he couldn't win after Tim won a comedy award Alex coveted.
It's like 99% Alex and 1% Tim Keyes
You don't want the scores greg
I would love to see Greg do a Round house kick (not to Alex). Now I really want to hear why Alex would have accepted Desiree's proposal.
It was a call back to the task they had just completed, where the contestants had to make the best wedding proposal. In Desiree's attempt, she sang that she didn't have a gag reflex. 😳
Gregs politeness shining through at the end. 😂
Alex mouths the words of his inventions answers-love this show.
that was adorable
This was one of my favorite series. The final live task made me laugh so hard.
I would watch this show uncut, with hours of footage Idc it's all gold
For some reason not having a laugh track works fine for me. They're all cracking up anyway, I mean. It's fine. You could do the episodes like that, with this style of longer banter and uncut shots, it's funny enough
Omg this is gold, more outtakes please!
8:13 I would pay to hear what the Andy's are saying in his ear in these moments. You can slightly hear them but I can't make it out.
The Flying Horseman enters the legendary space alongside Icabod Crane the Headless Horseman.
I was today's years old, when I realized that Taskmaster contestants are seated in alphabetical order of their first names from left to right. How have I never noticed that before?! They've been doing it since season 1...
Daaaaaaaamn! Thanks!
I beg your pardon hahaha. I am also today years old when I found that out hahaha
What about in the episodes when I they have to do something for the person who comes next or them in the Alphabet? Like, I think it was season 5 when they had to pick an outfit out for the next person to do a task in.
@@pearkore6821 I seriously never gave it any thought whatsoever. Maybe I was too caught up with the gifts/outfits to notice
And no one in seat 1 has ever won
6:23 I am delighted that my brain completed the "......wombling free" line only to then hear the TM cast doing the same a split second later.
My life is complete.
What does it mean?
The wombles are a classic British kids tv show and the theme song starts with the line "underground, overground, wombling free “ my brain also went there 😂
@@libbywilliams9969 Oh that's really adorable. Thanks for explaining!
Honestly, I'd watch the unedited show. It's all so good.
oh Greg....thank you
thank you for sharing with us mere mortals your godly, dazzling brillance
I love you, Taskmaster
I'd love more of these, please.
Better yet make the episodes themselves longer and include more of moments like these in :D
"Taskmaster XL"
One of the best seasons hands down 🙏🙏
This is my favorite season from them all right now, just brilliant.
Weirdly, I remember almost all of these being in the actual episodes.
Me too, although in edited fashion.
Was the Horsemans Kick actually in the show? Somehow I missed that!
@@heidieaston3741 No, that definitely wasn't.
I believe him. He can roundhouse.
5:44 Greg and Alex deny their dynamic being a D/s but someone every other series will mention it 😂
Already can't wait for the next season!
This has really highlighted that I want to be friends with Victoria.
Thanks for this!!
Finally! Perfect!
I love Victoria Coren-Mitchell so much I would gladly vote for her if she ran for prime minister. Or her husband. Or Greg for that matter. Basically I hate British politicians
Wow, looks like an incredibly difficult process without an audience.
I was apprehensive of the darker tone when this series began but this series was legendary and PUNCHED HARD. A departure from the wholesomeness of series 11 but incredibly vicious and incredibly special
"the darker tone" ??? "departure from the wholesomeness of series 11" ??? What are you on about???? - Series 12 was extremely "wholesome" and the guests were extremely supportive of each other; it almost became difficult to think of it as a competition.
"incredibly vicious" ??? - You sound like a food critic who has written their review before ever eating at the restaurant.
These are amazing.
Love these out takes.
3 people quoting the Wombles at the same bloody time.
Cripes! All this time I thought there banter is so great it MUST be rehearsed! Can't believe so much is off the cuff!
Clearly Greg needs Phil Wang's Game of Death jumpsuit to pull off the Flying Horseman kick.
Dear Mr Alex Horne, can series 13 just be the cast of series 12 again?
i love there dynamic so much
I'd -love- to be able to see an unedited version of the show.
I always sing along to the closing music... "Willllllll there be eggggggs I likeeeeee tasks with egggggs"
Greg gets the lines wrong that threatens to kick Alex in the face.
Classic TM.
Thank you!!!!
Thank you Alex for your hard work. Victoria says it perfectly.
I always talk to much and trail off and everything. So listening to Alex sometimes reminds me of myself and how some of my friends just end up letting me talk half the time! 😅 Oh and the tail thing made me think of Shallow Hal movie..
Ok, the last one was pure gold! xD
The BEST cast on TM 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
That was so good! I have to google flying horseman now. I don't know what it is but I'm absolutely certain Greg Davies can't do it.
Loved the last one!
you find yourself rooting for meek alex, the perfect passive aggressive protagonist.
The contestants’ reactions when the meditation music played was exactly mine. Episode 3 and 4 were EPIC
I want to see a flying horseman
It is kind of weird without the audience, but still just hilarious as ever
God I love this show. Still as fresh and original as S1!!!!
These are just as good as the aired bits.
more series 12 outtakes please
So funny, I love these.
i was scared it would be a taskmasterless thursday
Like a dream come true 😄
I wonder if Alex found a Hoot-owl of Death in his pocket?
Well played!
Love Greg Davis
I wish we'd gotten more Victoria on the show ❤
I want to hear a bedtime story narrated by Greg based on the pig tail description. Oddly soothing.
Any chance we could get series 12 full episodes visible in Canada on this channel? It’s been country blocked the whole season despite the first 11 being available…
lovely
Is there any way to watch the full series of Season 12 in the US? So excited to see the full thing!
Absolutely loved this video ❤️
Also, it made me like Victoria even more
Oh, and the last bit is hilarious hahahaha
