I honestly felt the entire time that mrs tarantula wasn’t really as bad as the rest of them
Like Wolf, she was quick realize that she and the guys are capable of being good
as someone who likes this character, and also happens to know a thing or two about tarantulas. I cringe in fear every time she falls anymore than a few feet. tarantulas are surprisingly fragile creatures, too high of a fall and without anything soft to catch them, that abdomen practically explodes.
one of the biggest fears of T keepers. if your lucky it's a miner rupture and a little super glue can save its life but nine times out of ten the T will die anyway.
She just needs more substrate
I never even knew that, arthropods are usually light enough that they can survive being dropped. But I guess Tarantulas are pushing the size limits.
Does this have anything to do with Tarantulas movements running on internal pressure instead of muscles? So like i assume sudden impacts could make something pop.
@@kennethsatria6607I'm not entirely sure about the internal workings of Ts, although I do imagine it has to do with their size. I'm pretty sure a very young small T could survive a fall like a lot of arthropods like you said, but an adult most likely couldn't.
I also know that keepers have to be careful about having them in tall enclosures, sometimes they will climb onto the lid and if they can't climb back down they eventually tire and fall onto their backs causing a rupture. That's why most keepers I know have them in either wide enclosure with low ceilings or if they HAVE to use a tall enclosure they put a lot of plants and softer substrate so they can hopefully find something to climb onto or catch them. Of course the trade off for lower ceilings is that if your T is jittery and prone to bolting, its pretty easy for them to get out. Tarantulas are the slowest spiders around, but even they can bolt with surprising speed.
The fact that you just said super glue can help tarantulas recover from injuries almost makes me fascinated despite the fact that I'm absolutely terrified of them.

IMrs. Tarantula is my favorite DreamWorks Animated character but in real-life I HATE Spiders, except for Mrs. Tarantula and Charlotte are lovely animated spiders. 😅
