They absolutely should make whatever music they want to make. Unfortunately this just really doesn't do it for me. It just feels like generic pop rock without any of the energy that originally drew me to them :/ hopefully this new direction works out for them.
Mad respect to HLH, Hundredth and anyone else who switches it up over time and makes the music that they feel like making. It's not gonna be everyone's cup of tea, and that's okay. Taking their history and any genre out of the equation, this song slaps pretty hard.
Naw man. Hundredth did it well. HLH were good and watered down everything. No pun intended. Theres no dynamics, no switch ups, its just flat, boring pop-rock. What a waste of a previously amazingly creative band
@@lew0013 Gotta agree, Unimagine and Dissonants were two of my favorite albums of all time, they sounded so good, had such power in the lyrics/vocals, and amazing songs overall. This past album and this EP sound so generic, there is nothing from HLH in this, they sound like a regular band that plays at a bar once a month. Its good they are doing what they love, if that is the case, but they lost what made them unique and special, it's a shame...
They're pioneering the new genre called "generic core".
They went from the soaring melodies and intricate exciting guitar riffs to sounding like if The 1975 tried to make a soft rock album.
FIDEL CASHFLOW bands evolve brother. They can’t keep writing the same album over and over again. Learn to embrace their new direction, and if you can’t do that, then respect their creative decision to try something else.

Don't put disrespect on The 1975 like that, they have some really fun and interesting guitar riffs and they're at least making interesting music. Admittedly even I don't love their new stuff as much but you have to give artists room to experiment. I hope their whole album doesn't sound like this single but it can stand on its own without having to fit into their other body of work.

It's not the same Hands like Houses we grew up with but hey that's fine. If they feel like this is a natural progression then let it be.

I love their old stuff. Their old stuff is absolutely amazing. But their new stuff is really good for what it is. And that's just being chill and having good vibes.
@@bradleywilliams1323 they have a subtle change between each album. Dissonants and Anon was the most drastic change between albums. But Anon was still an awesome ass album.

@@Tophvr yeah... but they had that kind of transitions with heavier riffs towards the end of most songs from Unimagine and Dissonants, I am no an expert musician, but they sound like breakdowns to me

Finally a new HLH single that I can get along with!I like the relatable verses and prechorus but the chorus could be more energetic with hard hitting guitars.Also cool ambient bridge.

What’s crazy about this is that this isn’t a bad song at all, but it just seems uninspired in comparison to what we’ve seen them do before. I’ll be honest. If this wasn’t written by HLH, I would probably never give it another listen. It doesn’t entice me like their previous work. They’ve written groundbreaking melodies and have captured breathtaking ambience in their previous albums. I’m not saying they need to write another GD or Unimagine, but it just pains me to see a group with so much potential put out something that sounds so unlike them. Like I said, it’s not a bad song, but I feel like they are holding so much back. We know what they’re capable of, and I really hope that someday they can capture me with that feeling that drew me to them in the first place.
I get the way you feel i feel like this when it comes to wage wars latest album. However coming into this as the first hands like houses song ive heard i gotta say i actually think its a banger. This is just my opinion but i think if you look at it as a layed back late summer bop rather than a peice to take seriously id think youd have a bit more fun with it. Im definately going to check out more of them tho.
Yeah I agree, I really loved their first 3 albums and the direction they were going in but Anon. was real different and I really couldn’t get into it no matter how hard I tried and it seems like they will just be doing more of that.
Dan Goodwin I totally get that. Like I said, not a bad song, and I can definitely see the appeal especially to newer fans. I think it might just be hard for some of us who have followed them for quite awhile to come to terms with the change in their sound. But yeah, definitely check out their other stuff. I’d highly recommend Tale of Outer Suburbia, Introduced Species, Antarctica, or Colourblind.
Jordan Taylor It does seem that way. Surprisingly Anon has one of my favorite songs on it (Through Glass), but other than that, I don’t really care for the album either.

Still havent come round on parkways new stuff. I've since checked out colourblind since typing my original response and I'm really liking what I'm hearing.

I use to love this band, like I was obsessed with listening to them but now they seem to be confused of who they want to be. I wish they stuck to the sound of unimagine
I also really loved Dissonants, I think that was their peak, even though Unimagine is a 10/10 for me :)

they caught themselves. they are less metal now but thats okay with, we still have the old songs, maybe they do it like the offspring who mix old and new styles in their albums :)

Not really a fan to this kind of sound, but this is better than their previous singles. I hope they sound like this only in the upcoming EP and get back to their old sound in the upcoming album.

Definitely sounds like you guys wrote this by the beach haha. For me I like it as a song to put on in the background while doing other things and just kinda bop to it. Seems like a good driving song too. Not my favorite from HLH but I think it fits the upbeat and catchy side of their sound.

randomly stumbled upon this song that i quite enjoy but i've never seen fans been this dissapointed by a song lol. i get it's not what the artist usually does but damn.
I don't see why people really hate this song. I think the lyrics for this one is reminiscent of their older stuff. And while I think the EP is a little on the weaker side, it is just an EP and they probably want to explore some different sounds in it. I also really like Stranger on the EP as well.
This and Space are really good. Hoping the rest of the ep will be just as good.
