Great effort documenting this, really good video. I had a release bearing fail on the Mk1 Polo after hardly any miles my last trip out, no idea why as it was from a NOS Sachs kit. Drove home basically grinding the body of the bearing into the pressure plate fingers but luckily didn't damage the lever or anything else. Just changed out with another NOS Sachs kit but a newer one this time with a sealed cartridge bearing.

I made the drive to Dallas with some friends in the 90s from Chattanooga to Dallas. Oh how that drive sucked.
The only good news is you don’t have to stop a lot in west Texas or New Mexico
Why bumpstart in 1st gear? With my old MK1 Golf I use to start in 2nd gear when i had Cutch cable issues.... but cool...

I synchro shift (float) my gears in my semi truck every day and i always wondered if it was ok to do that in my personal vehicle or will it mess up my transmission?, what's your opinion on that?

I don't understand how you drive with no clutch.
I've lost the clutch a couple of times in cars over the years and both times were recovery truck saves.
The car just revved but wouldn't pick up momentum.
