@Steven Darkins My first time seeing a 6000 on a 103rd route was in April 2003 when i saw one parked at a Popeyes on the 106 East 103rd at 103rd/Dauphin as the driver was getting some chicken. That was when 77th sent the last of their 6000's to 103rd for some 5300's.
These buses were definitely were the end of an era for the high floor buses. I should've mentioned that about 100 of these buses were assigned to Forest Glen garage in the early 2000s until their retirement in addition to their assignments in other garages like 77th, 74th, Kedzie, 103rd, and even Chicago. Even North Park used these buses as loaners during 2009. I do also I remember riding one on the 52A
Imma have to tell you that Chicagobus is wrong. All units have the ZF transmission and 6305-6329 have the M11 not the C8.3
Yea I knew something was fishy I’ll keep that in mind in the future when new videos are being created not to rely on Chicagobus.org anymore.
Keep the bus reviews coming man
I used to see these all the time on the 8 and the 63. Those were my home routes.
I use to ride them a lot on 55 and 52A a lot heading towards the Orange line for 52A or MSI for 55

I'm glad that CTA did stick around with ordering High Floor buses after D40LF 5800s
I agree with you on that
The 5800s were a experimental order. I think the 6000s were already approved to be delivered to cta before the new flyers were considered
The TMCs and the Flxible Metro B and E were from my childhood that I used to ride until 2010.
I used to also ride all of them until 2010 that’s when only the Nova and New Flyers were kings of Chicago
I have no chance to ride the CTA NABI's.

A lot of them would be at Forest Glen until the Novas came into play starting in late 2001 with upper 6700’s and 6800’s winding up there
Update: There are two Metro Es located on 106th. They still there as of last month as I went to see them recently.

6031 is about to be scrapped as far as 6127 it’s still here but at 77th boneyard
Some of them were also in accidents that still gave legal holds on them even after all these years
