  • In this video, we'll be talking about comparison and how to stop comparing your home with others so that you can truly be more content and happy as a homemaker, despite not having your dream home. It's easy to fall into the trap of comparison, especially with the constant barrage of picture-perfect homes on social media. However, it's important to remember that these images often don't tell the whole story. Every home has its own unique charm and imperfections, and what truly matters is the love and effort you put into making it your sanctuary.
First, let's focus on gratitude. Take a moment each day to appreciate the things you appreciate about your home. It could be a cozy reading nook, a thrifted rug, or even a sunny window where your plants thrive. By shifting your focus to what you have rather than what you lack, you'll start to see your home in a more positive light.
It's also helpful to set realistic expectations. Remember that every home has its own set of challenges, and no one has a perfect living situation. Embrace the imperfections and see them as opportunities for creativity and problem-solving. Instead of focusing on what your home isn't, celebrate what it is and the potential it holds.
Lastly, recognize that you may still have moments of ‘want’ or frustration. Just don’t stay in those thoughts. Acknowledge these feelings and remind yourself that you are doing your best. Your worth as a homemaker is not determined by the size or style of your home, but by the love and care you put into it.
By shifting your mindset and embracing gratitude, you can find true contentment in your home. Remember, a happy home is not about perfection; it's about creating a space filled with love, warmth, and joy.

I literally tell myself this EVERY DAY because there are things about my home that I dislike that I used to allow to take up too much space in my mind. Life is much more enjoyable when we have a positive mindset. Yes, please include me in your prayers. Thank you ❤

It really is 😊 especially when most of the time we can’t really do anything about it then and there, so why let it consume our thoughts and take away precious joy from us?
      I will ❤️

I am the opposite. I love old things that have been handed down for generations. In fact my den looks more like a storage room right now because when my mom passed, I couldn’t part with so much of her stuff. I have got to tackle that room and figure out what I have room to keep. I’m very much in the grieving stage and it’s about impossible for me to think of parting with her stuff. I didn’t bring clothes and stuff like that. It was donated to charities that give them away to people
In need. I did however end up with some furniture, some decor and THREE sets of her dishes. I also brought home some of her nicer towels and blankets and some kitchen items. I’m praying the the good Lord will help me figure it out after the grieving process. Thank you for the video. ❤

I am the type who loves small kitchens! Compact is best to me! I don't have much storage but i have a hoosier cabinet holding a lot in other room & blessed to have a basement for storage & home grocery store. I know I'm blessed & i focus on learning recipes. But i have bought vintage used things for my interests-affordable decor. Agree with you! Making do. I think your kitchen is awesome. Thanks

Thank you 😊 🩷 I love that you love those things ☺️ it’s funny, reflecting back on the audio it probably sounded like I dislike all “old things” but I actually do like certain vintage / antique things. My daughters dresser is very old and has that vintage worn in old look to it - because it is, and I actually searched for months looking for it and bought it second hand because that’s the look I was going for 😅

Gratitude is very important, we must be grateful for everything and most for the life we are given by God, because without it we would not be able to experience what we have… there is a poem I love to listen to “we are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars we have a right to be here, and whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should” there will always be things that is greater and lesser than ourselves, acknowledge what we do have and be grateful once we are grateful we can ask for and gain greater things, however with what ever greatness we do achieve we must remain forever humble and grounded knowing that we came here without and we will leave without!

Love what you said at the end
      Job 1:21
And he said, “Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked shall I return. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.”

I had the exact table like yours. Someone blessed us with it. Yeah it was old, and not my style but I was so grateful for that table I took good care of that table (3 years) until God allowed us to move and we were able to get something else. So many good memories were made around that table 😊
