if I have 45 ppi in the pre-filter do I still have to put a sponge in the filter?
You can roll with all matrix in the baskets if you want
You can roll with all matrix in the baskets if you want
I don’t even know what you are talking about but I still watch your vids. Keep up the great work.
Haha thanks brotha! Every penny counts! 😂😂😂
I recently installed a Biomaster 350 Thermo on a new 45 gallon not too long ago. It’s sooooo quiet. I like it so far.
I just got a used Biomaster350 and have been searching the internet for a video like this on set up and maintenance. Good narration and straight to the point, Thank you.
“Do you even lift, bro?”
“Yeah, every water change.”
😂😂
Love the enthusiasm and swag in all your videos man!
Thank you bro! The Brooklyn in me lol
Nice update 👍 I’ve never used this brand before 😁
Gotta give it a try!
Great Tutorial Thanks I just got one today
I'm upgrading! Thanks
Good video, very helpful. Thanks very much😊🐠
Welcome! 😁
Love this channel!
🙏🙏🙏
Great video! Entertaining and informative. You cover so much in a short period of time. Your commentary is excellent. Keep them coming, looking forward to the next one. Btw- what size tank can the Oase 350 support.
Thank you! Def more to come. For the 350, it’s rated for up to 90 gallons. But since I run planted tanks, I like to look at the gph and making sure its 5x my tank. This filter I run on a 48gallon tank.
Great Channel!
Thank you so much!
Good to see someone actually using this awesome filter to it's full potential, namely losing the sponges and cramming it full of bio media. In the pre filter I use a combination of 2x 30ppi sponges on top, 2x 45ppi sponges in middle and 2x 60ppi sponges on bottom. This way I'm collecting all the debris before it reaches the main canister but also helps to keep better flow without having to clean the sponges as regularly.
Hey, just a question, why not the other way around for the sponge on the pre filter ?
I ordered this filter to replace my Eden 522, waiting for it to arrive, and I'm looking for informations around.
Thanks for your answer :).
@@Alfakyn1 the pre filter sponges that come with the filter (blue) are medium and will clog up quickly so depending on your stock levels, will clog up faster. More changes, granted only the pre filter, but also greater loss of flow rate quicker. Course sponges (orange) are better on the pre filter, they will collect the large debris but the smaller debris will go through to the main hub of the filter which is then collected in the fine filter floss used in the bottom tray so the bio media in the rest of the filer trays stays clean and flow rate should be better for longer. czcams.com/video/JKy0kVbd4Gs/video.html
@@jdthebear1 yeah but why are you using the 3 different types in your pre filter ?
All I read everywhere was saying go orange cause you will get less loss of flow rate.
I'll use mine in a 90L tank and will clean the prefilter every week so I think it's gonna be ok with the one already installed in. But I'll test the orange ones anyway I think.
@@Alfakyn1 I tried all blue and I was having to clean it 3 times a week (heavily stocked African cichlid tank) as the flow just died to nothing after 2-3 days. Went with all orange and the flow was great all week round, still cleaning them once weekly with my weekly water change, but then found the filter pads in my bottom tray were getting dirty more quickly. Using the combination of blue and orange and the flow remains steady throughout the week (noticeable slowing down on last day before water change/clean) and also keeps the pads within the filter cleaner for longer so less cleaning of them. I clean the pads and media in main canister once a month.
@@jdthebear1 thanks !
One good tip for maintenance is to get yourself some food grade safe silicone grease and lubricate all of the O-rings and seals. That way you're making sure they last a long time.
Don't put ur self down man there's nothing wrong with ur tank cabinet it's a tank cabinet they look like that I like it looks smart
Man you sold me! Oase 250 thermo it is for next filter! They should sponsor you with that selling video! Hope all is well!
😂😂😂 I wish, long ways away. Thank you for the support!
@@TankTastic you’re welcome bro! I don’t think it’s that far away! 😁
Hello and thanks for your video, Just wondering how you would rate the noise level of this unit?
I have a 250 thermo on my 20 gallon. Filter maintenance is so easy it's worth the price of admission alone.
Yea man, making my life easier is priority lol
How's the flow on a 20 gallon? Is it too much or fine?
@@LMS2027 I think the flow is perfect. If you find it to be a bit too strong though you can always put a valve on the hose to turn it down a bit
@@Rycraft5v8 Thanks. Have you had any issues with noise or other problems? I've seen some complaints about it.
@@LMS2027 zero issues. I've had it running for a year and a half and am 100% happy with it.
Very informative. Does this 350 enough for 180l ( 48 us gallon ) fancy gold fish tank.
Model: boyu Ea 100. Please suggest
Is this better than fluval 407. This oase 350 is expensive...
What’s the best solution for air bubbles?
I must say that I have the Biomaster thermo 350 and 600 and I love them. I do, though, wish Oase made pre-cut fine polyester filter pads like Fluval and Eheim do for their filters. Oase: Wake up, you can make more money, please make custom cut fine filter pads, not just the orange sponge pads.
Haha they probably thinks everyone uses that pool filter floss. But yea, for the trays, they only make 20 and 30 ppl. I’m thinking it’s because if you do get the 60ppl prefilter like me, you probably dont need it in the tray? But then again, people like options. Lol
You must have money to burn.
Perfect timing, I can't decide between the Eheim 4+ Thermo 350 and Oase Biomaster Thermo 350. I like the pre-filter on the Oase, but I've heard that it is more noisy than the Eheim
Oase, hands down. Its quiet like the eheim. Only time its noisy is when air is trapped inside, but thats all filters.
@@TankTastic yeah I am also leaning towards the Oase. It seems like the better deal! What size tank are you using it on ?
The 350 runs on my 48 gallons. So its perfect for me.
Let me decide for you, don't buy the Eheim. I have 3 brand new eheim pro 5e 700s and they're all being returned. I've had them less than three weeks an they'vee all failed.
The oase 600 is the most noisy filter I had plus the flow is ridiculous, take the Eheim, it’s silent and the flow is genuine
Great video! I'm sold on getting an Oase Biomaster 350 now! How often do you change the prefilter section on the filter?
Depends on your tank stock. I personally do once every 2 weeks, you willl start noticing flow restricted when it gets dirty
How do you prime it again? Do you add water in the cannister before hooking up the hoses? Great video btw! :)
Thank you! You can add water in canister and that makes priming easier. Or just prime it without.
Thanks for the video, it was helpful! I bought the same filter, it's my first canister filter. I haven't set it up yet. When shutting off the filter and detaching the in/out flow connectors from the base unit, how do you prevent all the water build-up in the tubing from spilling out? What is the best way to do this? In your video, you kinda skipped this part so I'm curious. Thanks!
When you flip the lever on the front to detach the manifold it closes off the outlets so the water stays in the lines.
^^^ exactly what he just said. You will absolutely love this filter.
Agreed
Bought this filter myself about a month ago, i love it so far. Prefilter and the internal heater are genius
What light do you have over the biomaster in the cabinet? It look nice😁
Twinstar 900s Light 3
where would you put your chemical filtration like carbon/purigen and like phosguard if you have silicate problems? top tray?
yeah
What do you think of your Landen tank? UNS and ADA tanks are impossible to get right now.
Landen is great, tbh even a no brand tank will do. Just make sure its low iron glass and you are good. Don’t say anything but my second 90p, the 38 gallon one is a no brand rimless.
I have a 20 gallon long tank with pea puffer but will like to upgrade to a 30 gallon in the future. Immunotherapy sure which one to buy now. Should I buy the Biomaster 250 or 350?
350…always future proof your purchases. In case you go bigger tank in the future.
Can’t decide between the oase biomaster 600 or the four Val 307/407. You do own both. Which one would be your pick?
I like the pre filter and heater on the biomaster, but reviews are complaining about the noise.
Noise comes from sucking in air and not properly maintaining it (from my experience). My pick is the Oase, it makes your life easier.
@@TankTastic thanks for the quick response!
#savealife !
🥰🥰🥰
It's the oase not oways lol non the less it's a really nice piece of art I want one myself I have a sunsun hw702a fluval 207 eheim pro4+250 and eheim classic 350 IV more canisters than I do tanks now maybe I'll treat myself to the biomaster 250/350 come my birthday in October maybe befor we ll see
Hi bro,
Do u experience any purging of air from this canister?
Yup, all canister does that when it sucks in air. Normal
Even after doing the maintenance the problem still persist? Any way to eliminate this issue?
Especially after maintenance. Just shake it back and forth to purge
Noted boss.. will try that.. 👍🙏
Also, if you got a skimmer, make sure its not sucking in air. Let me know how it goes
Can you reduce the flow ?
Yes you can, same way you release the flow valves, just turn that notch a bit (not all the way obviously, that would be a nightmare) lol
I have both the 350 and the new 800 series from oase. The inflow and out flow pipes have a dial that you can adjust the flow rates right before they exit and enter the tank. I wouldn't recommend you adjust flow at the canister, as this could cause a leak of either air or worse, water. I love both of my filters and highly recommend them for ease of cleaning, dead quiet operation and quality of filtration overall. It's money well spent!!
Why purist aquarium people clean filtermedia poop, with poop?
Nice part : easy to clean, integrated heater, plastic quality
Worst part: bad flow (due to prefilter design ) and very bad humming bassy noise coming from the head.
Back to Aquael and eheim…
Man aqueal needs to enter the usa market ASAP!
so this is just a bio and mechanical filter .. which is cool but to make sure i understand..
Avoid it. The flow problems are real
Great video just got the 850 so configured my filter like yours and removed the sponge 🧽
Thank you! Yea that def helps a bit 😁😁😁
