  • ▶︎▶︎ Red Bull is introducing the second part of their upgrade package that aims to change the entire concept of the car compared to the RB19, but it seems like the Austrian team will find it a bit harder to ‘dominate’ in the remainder of the season now that McLaren and Ferrari have shown some great and promising signs about their own competitiveness. After the latest statements of Zak Brown, as well as the expectations from Ferrari’s first massive upgrade package backed up by Vasseur’s optimism, Red Bull might find themselves in murky waters, especially considering the fact that they are no longer the best team in terms of tyre management and they do not have the strongest duo of drivers on the grid. With this in mind, could Imola be the race that will mark the turnaround point of the 2024 season?

I doubt that Red Bull have been caught up with. I believe, Miami being a sprint weekend caused Red Bull to not get the car dialed in.

      Depuis quand as-tu connu Verstappen?

@@thomasshelby8542 Incorrect, Max’ car is setup in a way which many drivers would struggle to drive because it’s so snappy and front focused. But the fact that it is so front focused makes the car faster. So Max’ talent makes it possible for the car to be that much faster because he can control the car.

McLaren won on pure pace. Assisted to gain TP by safety car yes but the delta was that high verstappen even with the pace advantage would have struggled. Now you might argue why didn’t Norris breeze past Perez earlier. My higher fuel loads and the level of tyre saving from Norris at that point was much higher and the offset for both drivers was the same.

I have a question if you can answer please. Miami is a circuit which is only used for F1 race weekends predominantly and I heard someone say that the track and its grip levels were unique and may not be able to represent an accurate picture of tyre deg on other track surfaces. Does that mean that the tyre managment from Mclaren there maybe a 1 off?

    • @FormulaTodayF1
