what a strange choice of keybinds.
Aura Kingdom, an anime MMO made by Aeria games and now somehow involved with Gamigo (because of course it's comehow involved with Gamigo) actually, in all honesty, is not that bad.
I mean there are issues but, I can see why people would play this.
Thanks as usual to the supporters on Patreon and Twitch, you're all awesome.

@@bchgh I realize now that my reply could sound aggressive when I didnt mean it to, apologies! I think I managed not to get roped in because my parents had told me all about how to be safe on the internet since I was little, they used parental control but I was a stubborn little shit and managed to get the password to it so I could play more. They knew they couldnt exactly stop me so instead they taught me how to be safe, which looking at kids these days seems to rarely ever be the case.
I think that its part adults assuming kids nowadays know how to use the internet because they were born with it, and the kids who were taught that "everyone you meet on the internet is a 50-yo pedo trying to get you" but finding it was overwhelmingly not the case having kids and thinking that since they didnt experience that their kids are safe, and not teaching them basic safety rules like not giving out your name or location or your age (unless its to tell someone who's making advances that you're a kid, but in that case just say you're a minor) or picture or anything that could be used to track you down, and lie if necessary.
I remember only having one class in middle school teaching us internet safety that was pretty out of touch, and my brother who's only 3 years younger never had one, so unless an effort is made for school to give accurate classes it falls on the parents. But its also not to say its always the parents' fault as well, because most of them are either misguided or don't know, or are the sort of out of touch that makes children roll their eyes like "sure mom, every single one of my online friends is an old pedophile trying to kidnap me, thats very believable". Its just, we need a comprehensive way to teach people, especially children, how to behave on here. The shit I see sometimes...
But I ramble on! Long story short, it was sonly thanks to my parents teaching me how to behave online in a reasonable way that it didnt end terribly, and sadly my case seems to be more of an outlier these days.

The GMs and GSs quit at around the same time as each other and their replacements weren't very good. After Twin Saga (basically the Eden Eternal/Aura Kingdom clones by the new devs) went live, It was met with a plethora of bugs and to no one's surprise, later updates in AK were also just as buggy as their new game.
Most of the player base move to private servers that were being handles better and the servers merged. They released a mobile version of the game (which has been discontinued as of now) and I've heard of AK2 which is the same game but with FF14-esc graphics.

People need to remember due to the nature of MMOs, they WILL die one day. To ensure your favorite MMO survives as long as possible, being kind to the rest of the playerbase is essential. Everytime you help give a player a positive experience, they are more likely to stay active longer and recommended it to other people who may try it themselves. Everytime you are rude to another player, you risk them quitting and telling people to avoid trying the game. Do your part and be kind, even if you don't care about them, I'm sure you care about your favorite MMO surviving!

      Something important.
I was introduced to MMO's by a good friend. Guild Wars 1. We played together. And we grouped for the mission. That's how I learned to play MMOs :
      Full. Pickup.
To me, they have always been a human adventure. The game by itself isn't that fun. People are.
I prefer we fail together, that I win alone. The experience is more enjoyable, the memories are more vivid.
And when we win, it feels deserved and long due !
In real life, I am not particularly generous, but I always enjoyed giving stuff away in games. I gave gold, rare items, advices, some of my time...
One time, during a guild raid, one of our filthy rich members showered the floor with rare materials and consumables. It was a really rippy "raid" (hard mode Abyss, for those who know). Everyone rushed to pick up the stuff, and the entire party went down ! We died with still a bunch of it on the floor, and were kicked out of the instance.
Then, one of our member started complaining he didn't get anything. He was floored ! Somewhat of a new or average experienced player, but not the kind to be bleeding gold.
So I whispered him : Join me in town ! And I handed him the equivalent of five hours of endgame farming. I didn't want that guy to feel like he was unlucky or left behind that day.
A week later, I made ten times that amount in half an hour by winning a wagger. Fun times.

It's been up for 7 years now and still hasn't been abandoned... There isn't much p2w bullshit and holy hell are there still a crapload of players running around the map.
I came back after 4 years and I'm surprised the economy still isnt wrecked with the bots running around.
Main quest rewards aren't stingy (can literally powerlevel a lvl 1 character to lvl 200+ even if you rush) which is enough for the true Toram experience.

I had 1.1k hours in this game. I spent most of the game in an amazing guild called The Crimson Angels where I made many friends.
Our guild leader ended up quitting because his wife caught him having an affair and he stopping playing because he either got kicked out or was trying to work on his relationship (wild) and he transferred leadership onto the 2nd in command.
Our new guild leader was my best friend who was crushing on me hard, we had another girl in the guild who used to get jealous that we were friends and tried to get him to hate my guts basically and it sorta worked for a while. Lots of drama and fighting happened in game and in discord.
I got to know other people and I ended up in the top guild in our server called University that was full of whales and elitists.
We all used to run dungeons, but they had all spent so much money they all one shot everything so it was so boring. I much prefered my older guild, because we were mainly all f2p or ''few bits of money spent'' players so we still felt challenged.
There was so much drama between the top guilds (The Crimson Angels were 2nd to top) where they would raid other guilds discord and chat shit to each other. It got so bad that the ''Game Sages'' (not gm's, but they still had ban hammers for some reason) started making friends with the guild members and leaders from all the guilds. Our guild leader was an elitest asshole honestly, always bragging about him and his guild being the best. They basically perma banned him because of drama, even though he was a dick I still think it wasn't right for the GS to get involved as most things were happening off the game and in the discords.
It was their worst decsion for the game imo as one of our members had spent 50k+ in a year on the game. I'm not kidding when I said we were full of whales. You couldn't join the guild unless you were, except for me because I was friends with the leader and female. (which also caused drama)
Most of our members quit when he got banned. A few stayed and made a new guild but they rarely played and just stood around in the city chatting to each other.
It was a crazy world; bad and good, I miss it. I also played it when I was a teen when it was new and Aeria Games hosted. It was a good time in my life but now I'm an adult I'd never go back. I have tried it out again a few times but it's not the same. I also remember how long it took me to grind to max level with being decently geared and just thought NOPE better games to play out now.
PS. There was a good way to make money in the game for free. There was a shop system/minigame called paragon where you could win cosmetic items with a few other things, you could get free tokens doing certain end game content. The paragon would change every week or two so you could use the free tokens then keep the cosmetic items, then wait a few more weeks to sell them on the AH for stupid amounts of money. Whatever was in the paragon for the week would sell for dirt cheap on the AH as well so I used to just bulk buy then sell them for about 40x the price a month later as some of the things would only turn up once.

Yes the items were expensive, but I was content with the gear i had collected. then eventually i grew up, the game didnt, the bugs remained and stuck me, so i left. ...I wonder if what happened was that you weren't walking. If the game doesn't support characters actually being underwater, and if the devs made the mistake of having the waterfall actually be "water" and not a water-textured wall, then what may have happened is that the game put you in a swimming state and wanted to keep you at the surface of the water... by checking the water level directly above your head, and animating you to that point.

When I was a kid I remember I loved playing this game, and now I currently work as a freelance character designer. Honestly, I would argue that most of the characters (mainly Eidolons) in this game are very well designed, heck they're actually a lot better than most current games right now, even Genshin Impact. The non-humanoid Eidolons looked really cool, especially Quelkulan, Nalani, Eligos, and Abraxas. I would however say that most of the environments are recycled from past maps, which is a pity because I remember I loved visiting Ventos Praire because it's really pretty (and so is the dungeon of that map, Wrathborne Temple).
I still play the game, although I don't play on the Original Server because the Private Server is a lot better and more rewarding to play than in Original one, cosmetic items can be earned for free as well. Hence, my issue with the game as a whole, even in Private Server, is that the grind can be unbearable and collection can be very tedious because they actually matter. I also get that you're not supposed to Solo some stages but at the same time I feel like the ability of unable to Solo stages that are meant to be a Solo player dungeon on the same level is mind-boggling like the Time Library. I may be complaining because I've been playing more recent games as of late and they've been very balanced when it comes to grinding and the reward you gain from the grind, but I don't know, CMIIW.
And yeah, I wholeheartedly agree with the reviews. It's definitely not a bad game now, and it is iirc regarded as one of the better anime games to play back when it was released because the graphics were actually considered great back in early to mid 2010s. It's so well received that a lot of games either copy some of their design or rip the gameplay for their own. 7/10 is definitely the spot for me as well. Also the lady who did the voice acting is a top tier. I need more of her in game :(((((

I remember as a middle schooler playing many games from Aeria Games, what really made me get into MMOs was Grand Fantasia and I was so excited to play Aura Kingdoms when they released it. Although GF was my main MMO, it was my beginning, so AK would never surpass it. Ngl I liked every MMO I ever played, I always looked at the aesthetic, the graphic and the classes and the one that really satisfies me was GF. But I liked other games with the same-similar cutesy art/aesthetic like Maplestory, Elsword, Eden Eternal etc.
I don't regret playing any of them, not when I was a little kid and not even now, I cherish every single moment and memories, and what I liked the most abt those memories was joining Guilds and basically made friends, whom I would talking every single day and then never see a trace of them (tho I had periods when I didn't wanted to play so I would just take couple of years to break and then coming back whenever)

If you play it long enuf you'll see that they actually crammed in most features that can be found in more mainstream MMO's. The monetization was not even that bad with Aeria as the publisher. There was a way to get most cash shop items without spending real money. (Although this took some work.) I wound up with lots of outfits, eidolons, mounts, and a pretty tricked-out house. - The default interface arrangement (At least for me) was different from that. And if it wasn't, there is an option to reset the ui to way it was supposed to start.
    - The starcaller intro is coompletely different from other classes
    - You CAN create a guitarrist for FREE, but you need a high level character for that (I think at least one char on level 90)
Aside from that, I agree with everything. I honestly only play this game for the dungeons and visual.

Kudos to Aeria for adding the ''awakening'' key into the free LP shop, awakening was the biggest challenge a new player faced and alot of people got stuck at lvl99, basically forced to run the same 3-4 dungeons until they muster up enough gold to get their gears adequetly fortified and beat awakening, the Paragons were extremely bad before, now they are pretty decent. The AP shop is terribly priced unless you're from the US or UK, it's not worth it at all to cash for this game imo. 10k hrs

It wasn't laggy, its very smooth, relative crafting(not useless), intense world boss and sky tower raids for the whole server.
I left since it was becoming a chore when reaching the cap just waiting for nxt content. The only thing going is for it is getting your ideal eidolons that will suit your playstyle and also customization of skills you want to upgrade, if you're into collection its a challenge. To be fair, the gameplay is what makes up for every short coming in this game. I love the 3 class combos I ended up using (those being Bard/Wizard, Ronin/Brawler, and Gunslinger/Grenadier. The last of the 3 is my main). All the different combos you can weave with the two classes you choose are honestly really cool. The one and only shortcoming that should be fixed is the leveling system. The experience gain progression makes ZERO sense most of the time.
Here's what I mean, and I gathered this from playing on my Gunslinger/Grenadier by actually paying attention:
Level 1 - 20: 35%/56% of your experience bar is gained from completing a quest, depending on type. 40% for talking quests, 60% for everything else.
    Level 21 - 35: 28%/42% of the bar.
    Level 36 - 50: 16%/28% of the bar.
Level 51 - 72 (believe me, I know this is weird, but it's what happened): 3% for talking, 6% for everything else.
Level 72-78: 12% across the board
Level 78+ (I'm currently level 81, if I'm remembering correctly): 8% across the board.
This progression should be fixed and make way more sense. As it is right now, it's not balanced at all.

Played it for some time, however, I quickly realized where official server is going and instead went to play on private one. Yeah, it is not the best but it is not bad either. I will just say that since you like hybrid combat, Aura Kingdom gives player ability to have primary and secondary class, a mechanic which you didn't have an oppoturnity to encounter. You start with primary and later, you can choose another one, so you can have primary class which can tank damage and secondary which is focused on healing and support, so in the end, you get a tank with pretty decent sustain. This game is really not scared of giving player ability to find a good combination of classes to fit well with everyone's play style. There is also a weekly tower raid, I think that's from where the SAO-related review came from.

I used to play this when I was younger... I don't remember much about it other than it gave me a lot of artistic inspiration and nostalgia and that it bugged the hell out around level 50 and I quit playing bc I couldn't progress at all lol. This was really fun to watch!!!

I would like to see you reaction to Grand Fantasia, is another Aeria Games MMORPG and if I am not wrong, predecessor of this game. I remember having lots of fun with the game back then, but some years ago I tried it again and it wasnt as I remember. See you playing it and giving your opinion would make me very happy!

@@7svn. i dont think that a game worth playing would be on this channel in a video called "Worst MMO Ever?". but if you personally still play it i am interested in some info on why this game is still good from an active fan.

@@grayhairs6292 Well for 1, "worst MMO ever? that ? at the end is a question and more on is it worst? or is it good? the description shows he says it does have issues but its not bad.
Im not a active player sadly i do log on n off a lot i play more runescape than anything else, but what i do like about aura kingdom is its anime base, and lot of focus on cosmetic items such as outfits, im always out for looking for new styles and looks in the game and mix matching to make one i enjoy.
and this game offers that, but the biggest thing for me about this game is its free, yes it has paw 2 win features n all but no one forces that on you and no membership or anything so i dont feel obligated to put tons of hours to get my moneys worth i can play as i please since it cost me nothing :)

@@7svn. i liked the cosmetics and outfits too. one of the best anime games ever in case of artstyle. that kept me playing for about a year back then. and i didnt read the discription of this video, so yeah thanks for pointing. now i am not so upset)
