Rangers Football Club are a massive team with a lot of history and tradition. Would the Celtic FC fans acknowledge this and could I spread some positivity between these bitter rivals?

Inter Milan the fact that Jock Stein dared to cross the sectarian divide in Scotland or remarkable in its self something I personally could not bring myself to do.
Jock Stein's father used to wish him luck before every game unless he was playing Rangers his father just could not bring himself to wish Jock well before any Old Film game his Dad was that much of an ardent Rangers fan apparently.
Now a day's I just cant be bothered with all The Sectarian rubbish that comes with both Old Film clubs I have seen first had the trouble that Sectarianism can bring to people's life across The Irish Sea first hand.

Rangers fan here, Best players for Celtic for me would be Jimmy Johnstone he was a defenders nightmare, and more recent would be Tommy Burns, I loved his style of play. It was real sad days the days these 2 players passed..

The 2 older lads are a credit to Scottish football fans, honest and with a good knowledge to draw from. Probably hate Rangers but they still have respect for them.

@@SlothyWoffy yeah I'm a Rangers fan but I've got a lot of friends that support Celtic. I loathe Celtic, but I can admit to the feats they've achieved and respect some of the players they've had, would have said different things when I was 12.
Sadly there's not enough spotlight on these kind of guys because it doesn't attract as much attention as the negative behaviour of fans. But I love seeing it on this channel, somehow my man always finds the sound old boys to have a chat with.

Achievements respect the most: historically, winning the European Cup. in my lifetime, the times they beat teams like Barcelona, etc, a Parkhead.
Greatest player (in my life time): Larsson. 100%. Genuinely gutted that I never saw him play.
Favourite Old Firm moment: Any good Celtic Old Firm moment is usually shite for me 🙂 but I think, in recent memory, would be Scott Brown going over to Glen Kamara before the match, after Kamara had been racially abused in that European game.

Glad you pointed out Brown and Kamara. That's the way it should be. During the 90 mins, get tore in, wind each other up, but remember that at the end of the day, we are more alike than different and someone in different colours is not the real enemy.
From a respect point of view the passing of Tommy Burns and the actions of Walter and Ally will always be something I'll respect of those two gents. Rose above it all for friendship. That's what I believe most right-minded Old Firm fans tend to do. It seems to take tragedy for both sets of fans to truly understand their own minds beyond all the noise.

Weird how they demanded that the derby be postponed for O'Donnell (a bit-part player departed eight years prior) yet didn't do the same when Tommy Burns died, who made hundreds of appearances as a player and was a former manager most of the players knew personally. I wonder why?

My favourite Celtic player ever is John Collins; his time at Monaco and his games for Scotland made him my favourite Scottish player at World Cup 98.
I don’t know if it’s because I was young and a combination of Celtic being the underdog, but I didn’t hate Celtic back then as much as I do now.
For me it's a close call between Larsson (ofc lol) and Moravcik. HATED the fact they wore green instead of blue.

Thing I admire most is the atmosphere at Parkhead; its outstanding. And 67...no one can take that away from you, an unbelievable achievement.
Best player I saw at Celtic, of course, was Larsson. Moravcik was incredible too. Either of those could win you a game against any team in football.

I agree. I'm an Aberdeen fan and felt the embarrassment on behalf of that idiot. It's one thing to be loyal to your Club/Team, but you have to acknowledge achievements of your rivals.

In many ways it's Scottish Football's Achilles Heel, that our fans are so tribal in many cases.
@@scottw.3258 football attracts all sorts, good and bad. I don't think we are unique in the tribalism but it's probably made worse in Scotland by all sorts of things that have nothing to do with football tbh.

As a Rangers fan I'd say my best Old Firm moment was winning the league at Celtic Park during the Advocaat era.
I'm a Rangers fan and can quite easily say the best old firm player in the last 20 years has been Larsson, and some of the biggest results in Europe aswell coming from Celtic Park. Both the Manchester United and Barcelona games in particular. I have a strong fondness for Nakamura aswell not just for his performances but also his work ethic in training. We have struggled financially though and that was far before what happened in 2012 so hopeful and confident we can balance that out in the next decade or so. Celtic no doubt too will continue to have some strong performances and it's always great to see our league being well represented regardless of the club it is as it's not a very great league anymore.
Voted for you mate. Refreshing to see honest unbiased views and a big change to see someone talking up Scottish football. Too many down south just trash it without any objectivity. Our pub leagues have more spectators per capita than any other country in Europe!
You have a good football knowledge and are obviously a football fan across the leagues and levels of UK football. Also sensitive enough to know that some now call it the 'old firm game' while some call it the 'Glasgow derby!' Keep up the good work!

I think this is a brilliant concept for a series of vids for teams across the UK. It helps outsiders understand the rivalry and learn a wee bit about the club's.

What do I respect most: the financial backing the fans have given the club to dig them out of the massive hole (of their own making) that they were in.

Good to hear so many reasonable and fair comments on this vid. If you judge only by social media, you would think the vast majority of Celtic supporters are obsessed, deluded nutcases, but I know many honest and decent Celtic fans irl and I'm glad to see there were quite a few around when you shot the vid.

Celtic achievement I respect - has to be European Cup in 1967, even if it came two decades before I was born. Though the swing from Rangers dominance 1998-2000 to then Martin O’Neill winning a treble was incredible. Seville run too.

As a Celtic fan, I would take Glen Kamara. I think he's a technically gifted player who is very comfortable in possession. Would suit the role McGregor currently plays for us.
I have respect for their Cup Winners Cup success, and the amount of domestic success they've had. These are things you can't fail to respect really.
Favourite memory of a Celtic v Rangers game is probably the 1-5 at Ibrox. Never thought I'd see a scoreline like that in my lifetime, but Rangers were obviously still in a transitionary phase.
Best ever Rangers player? Can only comment on the ones I've been around for, so I'd probably go for Albertz who I thought was a very talented player. Rated their keeper Klos too, and McGregor has been very good in both spells.
