  • This is my do it yourself hamster cage for Dustin, a djungarian dwarf hamster. I used 4 precut panels which I screwed together. For the large window I used acrylic glass which I cut in size. In the video it is shown how it is done.

    This cage looks nice! I only suggest making a lid for it as hamsters are good at escaping

      These are coated fiberboards from the diy store. Paint is not suited to protect the wood from urine.

    Really great idea, only problem for me is not enough stuff in your cage and the bedding is harmful. I might do this with mine but I have two so I’ll have to figure out how to add a second on top.

      No that bedding is safe that’s aspen wood shavings the only wood that’s good for hamster

      it's acrylic glass also known as hobbyglas. Thickness is only 2mm.

    What glue did you use?? This looks intimidating to do but i would rather do this than pay $200 for one online! Im usong a clear bin right now.. it definitely isnt pretty like this lol

      First I take the hamster out. then I remove all the interior. Finally I remove all the litter with a hand shovel.

      It's melamine so it's waterproof to a certain extent. However I would add some liner also just for added protection. :) x

      2mm acrylic glass from the DIY store and B7000 glue from AliExpress

      sure, it was less than 50$ including the interior
