My faith gets so stagnant in the summer and every time I grow complacent and halfhearted I find it so hard to get my faith back to how it was again. I know only God can restore, but after years and years of being a believer, I still struggle with doubting that He will always long for me to come home when I stray... thank you for your words :)

Wow this speaks volumes to the materialistic, unfulfilling lives so many people (myself included at times) live. If we all just stripped away that which is of this world, and focused on God and his plan for us we would be living our lives with so much more purpose. Because we would be living according to His will. Thank you for being brave enough to stand firm and share your faith!!
This poem is something I found before I found my faith. It lead me to God and I still come back to this and remember what it means to have faith in God.

For the past 8 months or so I have been living in constant pain from my injured shoulder and my chronic migraines. I relapsed, ended up drinking and getting hooked on painkillers again. I've been trying so hard this past month to come back from that and even though I've only been two and a half weeks clean, I can feel God moving in my life again. This spoken word really lifted me up. I loved it.

Hi! I am so sorry this is such a late reply!! I get in ruts ALL the time. I find it helpful to listen to worship music, talk with the Lord, continue writing and letting Him speak to me through that. I know it is tough, but we are always growing.. sometimes those “ruts” are growing pains! You got this and He has got you!
"Is this all an imaginary battle?" Nothing is more realistic than this thought. Knowing god is there, he is watching you, we speak to him every day confessing everything. But aren't there moments when we question if he actually watches this helpless, alone child of his?
