The dining room is absolutely beautiful. I love that the woodwork is a lighter shade than what you typically see in older homes. The light fixtures are incredible. Love the old telephone too.

This is just beautiful! I love the wallpaper! I took piano lessons in that house as a child and feel a connection even though I haven't been in that house for 30 years! Thank you for all your hard work and sharing. I love seeing the transformation and miss my hometown.
The phone in the dining room reminds me of one of my favorite movies, "Meet Me In St. Louis". The boyfriend calls from New York and the entire family is privy to the conversation as the daughter shouts into the phone, because it is (of course) long distance.
We hid one of the land line phones in our old telephone when we had a land line, so you had to open the bottom to answer the phone. Our old house was in Oak Park, IL. We still have the old phone but now just a wall decoration and something for hubby to bang his head on.
Enjoyed the video! Love that you put William Morris wallpaper through the house. Perfect! The dining room looks wonderful! And the phone is awesome. You definitely wouldn’t want it in the parlor. Looking forward to seeing your future videos. Hope you get some sweet corn soon! My husband drove up from Texas once and bought 200 ears, mostly for friends. A few great corn parties, too. I super enjoy your videos! The humor is on point. Also, that red wallpaper is perfect for the space. On a Victorian house tour. The dining room had red wallpaper. Because, and I quote, “red promotes digestion.” Whether that be true or not??? meh. Anyways love the house and cool to see the progress. It gives me the motivation to keep working on my house.
@@JamesABeckHouse We always wanted to restore an old house, but we have been in this 1978 ranch for 30 years and are still just keeping up with repairs. We go into old houses (100+ years) that are being torn down and rescue doors and trim and anything else salvageable. We give it away or sell some but just want to keep it out of the landfill. The last house had hand hewn two by fours with the bard still on two sides. LOL.

Great way to hide the thermostat, but I wondered, why did you go with antiqued/distressed looking William Morris paper and not new WM paper as it would have been installed in the house? Both of course would look just fine.
@KeiPalace good question as we did look at both. But found that there was just something too new/perfect about it that just seemed off and prefer patina and imperfection over perfection.

You could actually have one of those phones on each floor and connect them. They will work and you'd have an intercom.

Red does encourage appetite, and speed is yellow, that's why all fast food restaurants are in red and yellow! (or white)

Did you think about lining up the patters horizontally between the rooms so your eye doesn’t “jump” as you go from one room to the next?
