Midnight screening, midnight screaming!
Film isn't even active yet, but I already love the cover frame-grab photo - you gotta love the cine techs they had in those days! Visual/mood aesthetic out the wazoo. Lighting, wardrobe, direction/scene-planning, and cinematography had an _awesome_ synergy going.
Wish my work ID photo had been taken by the cover frame grab person that chose that still :-)

Aptly named film for a midnight screening
That crisp hat could be used as a weapon - if frisbee'd, I bet it could cut through a Frost metal fence.
The "cymbal" hat: feel the urge to tap it with a drum stick to find out if it has good ping and sizzle, bet the bell clears the room.

Love films of the 30s just a few years after sound coming in. It feels like a direct link with my parents and grandparents who would have seen these at the pictures.
One of the things I love about early movies is the fashion in them.

The opening few minutes gives me a headache. In my L.E. career, I headed up a 17 man undercover narcotics squad, and had to do a quarterly "evaluation" of each agent's performance via individual meetings.
Once my report was turned in to the Capt, I then had to listen to the objections of those who rec'd unfavorable ratings. That job put me onto drink!

yes, something about that hat/her look..... body language experts have plenty to work with here. Hope man on the right of the frame is keeping his sentences short and factual as lady looks like a human lie detector.
