I’ve been making my coffee in the shower for years.
Thanks for including the Melo comparison as that's what I was wondering about the whole time!
I've had one for 3 or 4 weeks but only use it on the third pour, with a Kalita dripper. It has greatly improved my coffee. Will certainly try out your method using it for the whole pour over procedure, tomorrow morning. It certainly simplifies things. Thanks, much appreciated.
Great in-depth review!
Great transition
Guess I need to try is :-) Thanks for the review!
Funny thing is: I've been using my Gabi Master A for the same purpose. I don't have the goose-neck kettle and haven't been able to justify the expense considering our budget -- so this was my solution. I would think to myself: Someone should invent something like this. Now they have.
Yep. Dripmaster A version is better than B since it's all-in-one and can replace or even enhance your other drip makers like the V60. I also use it to make a good cup of tea since I forget to take out the loose leaves and it becomes bitter after. So it's also great for that.
Nice idea
Nice intro!
Oxo have been selling this system with their good grips range (pour over and cold brew) for awhile now ! Works a treat, comes with a good filter basket and a top to keep the heat in. Never did understand the need for the "art" of pouring hot water into a filter, more style over substance ! Failing that, just use a watering can. Good to see a good idea being expanded into the market, well done OXO, i mean Gabi..
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
What do you think of using this with a Size 02 V60?
This is a pump away from being a coffee pot.
Good idea but at $20 it's too expensive for what it is. At under $10 I'd buy it.
Indeed, it's overpriced. Might as well just place a vietnam dripper on top of the cone dripper and utilize it as the "shower head distributor". It's basically gonna work the same way; it's able to do a better job keeping the water warm since it comes with a lid and it's even cheaper while being a standalone brewer.
@@blasterargento5743 brilliant idea. I bet a smaller phin press would fit perfectly over a Kalita 155! I’ll try tomorrow.
Would this fit under a moccamaster for a better brew ? 😊
Gabi drip
It needs a lid to keep the water warm enough

where do i buy this? not on your website
We unfortunately discontinued this product several years ago, but check out the Mellow Drip (also not on our site).
how is this different from melodrip?
Did you watch the whole video? Steve goes over it at the end.
Pouring from a kettle is actually far from being precise. It's actually pretty inconsistent and unpredictable.
That romantic idea of pouring manually from the gooseneck is fun and looks like you're a master at it, but from a technical perspective is highly inconsistent (you can't control your pouring flow precisely) and induces fines detachment, pockets, channeling and uncontrollable/unpredictable turbulence.
Just to make it clear.
Most people (mostly baristas and enthusiasts in general) look at these drip assist devices as the training wheels for your bicycle. They are wrong.
Devices like this one or the melodrip or the Hario drip assist are designed to be like a modern aircraft's computerized fly-by-wire control interface: it's there to help and make things more predictable, smoother and safer
I don't see, why I should turn my manual brewer into an automatic one with this gadget. I could then just use an automatic coffee maker with an adequate showerhead in the first place.
The whole art and feeling of manual coffee brewing gets lost with this thing.
I thought that too and agree for home brewing. But I think this product would really shine at a cafe, where some baristas may not be as trained as others, so it can act as a sort of quality control device so that it ensures a good pour over every time. But I agree on home use, it takes away from the experience of home brewing.
I disagree, if you have a really nice dripper already why put down 100+ bucks on a coffee machine that will just steal a lot of counter space when you could achieve similar results with this 20 dollar device? That's how I look at it, not everyone already has a (or want a) automated coffee maker
Also very nice for when youre travelling and dont have a gooseneck available, or even a proper kettle!
Meh
As an espresso drinker, this coffee looks like slightly muddy water.
