- I kept my glasses on, in front of the camera to have the courage to sing high pitched like this...and also to train, because you don't have so much light on stage. I must admit that it also has to do with a little bit of swag XD...
So, I made several mistakes, but like always, i recorded that first shot :)
You have the PERFECT voice for QOTSA songs. I'm wicked impressed. This video deserves way more views than it has. Especially since you took the time to do a back track.

Your French and you sing without an accent which very impressive. I will say Queens of the Stone-age music is very hard to sing. Lyrics are complex and they don't typically use consistent American phrasing. For instance an American would never say "Maybe, I don't need them too". You sing through w/o issue which is hard. Your voicing and guitar timing is spot on as well. Well done sir thanks for sharing.

@@ratedjosh i won't have time to make a vid for a while so you can try & make sense of this - I bar the 4th fret (strike strings 1 to 4) then add the Am shape (making it C#m) (same strings), and repeat in succession (alternating down and up strokes). That emulates the fretting of 6-7-6-7 on 5th string at 1:13, except those notes are now on the 2nd string. Work out whatever rhythm to finish that phrase, then move to the G# chord (6th string, 4th fret). Your method sounds closer to the original but it's not as comfortable to me as hanging about on the 4th fret.
I wasn't aware of this song till yesterday and having listened to it a few times now, I think your version is better than the original - but I have an acoustic bias. If you're not familiar with Corey Heuvel on YT, he also does great acoustic covers of QOTSA, like Noone Knows.

5 to 10 years, as an autodidact pure amateur 😉
2 months is quite short to play kind of advanced power chords and stuff like bends slides or whatever in rythm during an entire song.
