I created a new channel here: youtube.com/@cockneygamer
I’d love to see you all there but thank you regardless for your love and support on midlife gamer.
I set up the new channel as I felt this one lacked energy and I could only take it so far. The one one is the same type of games and the same bloke behind them, just done so with a little extra spice.
Thank you all xxx
I own a bus company and this is how it would actually work doing the roots you have to have it balanced because we don’t want too many passengers to overfill your bus but it depends on what time of day that most people are there so you basically have to be careful on which stops to pick in real life😀
Also it's common to let passengers off at quiet stops in reality and you need to regulate the route so numbers are important you need to make sure the passengers have regular service. Loading less passengers at quiet routes allows space form more passengers on the busy stops. Each bus on the route then should always have some capacity and at peak times extra busses are laid on to cope with the excess demand and still having room
Good no-nonsense reviews, with a lot of useful info/opinion - keep it up!! (you deserve a LOT more subs)
hi What is the impact to arrive too late or too early at a bus station ? (out of hours)? I did not see any impact for my part
All the bus stops change as they level up, you just need to go up a few levels to notice the difference.
Why you need to select areas not in demand? Because you are offering a public transportation service :) As such it is not just a matter of where most people hop on or off, but in connecting areas together. If you would play games like "cities in motion", you would get a bigger picture of what a transportation simulation should cover. I think the devs did a good move in adding data related to each stop, but what they messed up is in explaining why things have to be balanced.
You also like just to drive; but what most people asked from BS18 was to actually run a company, so that is what they did. Upgrading bus stops is just a gimmick sadly because updating those stops should have done something in terms of what you offer at those stops or increase passengers number for example
You're spot on. I think you're right in that connecting bus stop of all demands is the way to run a bus company, but the explanation is poor. You in essence get docked down (reduced capacity) if you don't balance it.
As for running a company, its not so much that I was against it the idea behind it, but likewise the way it was done in such a spreadsheet style format (click a + sign to upgrade a stop) fell so flat for me. Having feedback from what I was growing along the way would have been a great driver (excuse the pun) in pushing my company forward.
Thank you for watching the video and taking the time to comment, I love hearing people's views!
@@midlifegamer7468 I agree with the poor explanation. I have hard time to even figure things out to be honest, and thanks for making a review that is longer than 2 minutes, because that helps to understand how the game works.
I appreciate that the management option is simplified; if I want to play a transportation simulator, I would probably not enjoy much to drive too, so I guess their approach was to focus on driving while giving some company management mechanics... Obviously can't make everyone happy :)
Did you try Tourist bus sim? That game has also driving and management mechanics. Curious to see what you think about that game (made by the same people that made Fernbus; which is what it is... But that is a different story)
Do you think the graphics are better on Bus Simulator 18 or am I just crazy?
They are better… but I’d say not so much better that it feel like a true sequel. For me it’s just more richer in that more is happening in screen so it all feels like you have multiple effects. But generally speaking it is very similar and ultimately a “kick a paint”.
so is this game worth getting or no?
No save your money
Hey :) Interesting video. However I have to mention that recent updates have made the game so much more enjoyable. With the latest update which was released yesterday they added real life sounds for the E Citaro, fixed pedestrian behaviour in Seaside Valley and so much more. The devs are constantly improving the game, bringing in so many new features that I'm really pleased. Play on Xbox Series S by the way and when it first got released the framerate was bad but they've been improving it ever since
Thank you for sharing this. I may give the game an updated look based on this but I’m going to pin your comment so that it balances out the review a bit based on the new info you provided. Thank you!
@@midlifegamer7468 You are welcome :) By the way I noticed a bug today while playing the new update. On the Seaside Valley Map traffic lights are messed up and cars drive on red lights and stop on green
@@christinamayers3234 haha… why does this not surprise me. Thank you for the heads up!
Hello Christina! A shy meow from a real bus driver playing Bus Simulator 21 in Switzerland to you! The red light bug has already been hotfixed (surprisingly fast, yes). Also, the developers promised on Discord that there will a huge update next week! :)
@@MatthewBluefox That's awesome! Thanks for the info :)
If only rockstar would make a bus simulator..
maybe a group of influential youtubers should ban together and make a a proposal to em!
I restart Bus Simulator 18 on PS5,and having fun on it. I did see Bus Simulator 21 but didn't buy the game yet of all the negative around that I hear and read. Now after all the patches and fixes, is it worth buying?
Bus Sim 18 is still better imo
Is it any better now
This has started given error messages now and it is getting frustrating
The big downer for me is the dingy black and brown road surface colours, makes the whole thing look dull and unattractive. I have Bus Sim 18 which I still play but in free roam only, I got bogged down in trying to create all the routes and stops, got to be a drag.
I know it seems like I hate on this game a lot. Reality is I had fun but the longer I played the more short lived that feeling was, simply because it dawned on me how sub-par the mechanics were and they repurposed so many assets from 18. It's a shame as this could have been a great upgrade but ultimately its just a lick of paint.
Is bus sim worth it??
BS 21 reminds me too much of The Sims, with it's weird characters and idyllic settings. This is still a good game though, but I think Bus Driver Simulator is the better simulator (on console).
Its definitely going backwards, accept the choice of busses, if you can drive them, with all the lagging, glitching, freezing, crashing, it was not pleasant to play that game, nothing was going right, turn everything off, just to try to keep my game from glitching and crashing, never had that with any game, the map is also very short, and many blocks,
It sounds like they are simulating being a bus driver lmao
Thx for your honest review.
You’re most welcome. I actually have a new channel now (click my name) where I review and compare 3 bus simulators (fern bus, bus sim 21 and the bus). New channel allowed me to be a bit more fun with the opinions! Thank you for your comment good sir
For me the two biggest problems with the game are people still will run out in front and on the side of the bus and they will walk out from anywhere and you get charged for hitting them and secondly the bus in front of you at the bus stop, making you lose time. You get two or more stops like that and you behind... That turned me off about bus simulator 18...
I got a mix of wishing for Simulation and wishing for artificial gameplay from this video.
Let’s be real here the game came early because they really need to work with the controls steering wheels are not working at all they need to work on it fast because we have been waiting and waiting but nothing is happening
Biggest lie this game told us, American Buses. We've been lied to for the longest.
For me i bought 18 and i didn't like it. It feels like 2021 is the same garbage with just newer buses and another map. I just don't like the way the game kinda holds your hand and all that stuff. They even (almost) use the same lines when checking tickets and when talking to each other on the bus. It's just not my cup of tea. The buses also look like plastic and a bit childish in my honest opinion. Before i get attacked by fans of the game: yes it is just my opinion and if you like this game it's up to you.
I bought Bus Sim 18 when it came out and enjoyed it a lot. Bus Sim 21, while I thought the changes were cool, the core gameplay and UI felt downgraded.
@@SoAaron_ I agree! When i tried out the Bus Sim 21 i got alot of stutters, performance issues etc. For me it was like just the same game all over again with just a different destination so to speak. I play OMSI 2 the most just to get those realistic sounds in. Graphics look like crap but it’s still a fun simulator in my opinion.
horrible optimzation, one of the worst ive seen in my life. if your like me and you dont spend a years worth of mortgage on a pc then dont bother buying this game. Animations are the jankiest ive ever seen and the driving has almost no weight. it turns like if u were driving a small car.
And the AI traffic looks like cartoon cardboard cutouts at best basically the trend of the game.
Three years later, this BS game is still the same, cardboard vehicles, the empty roads and no realistic changeling when driving.
This simulator is a total flop. What a waste of time and money. Made over enough to buy a new bus, yet it won't even let you buy the new bus. WoW, make it make sense. Reverse to stop. 🤣😂😆😭what vehicle have you ever driven that uses reverse for stop? 🥴
