Sounds real good not annoying at all. Nice tone and the turbo actually sounds good
I think you lose the whistle due to removing the CAT, if you got a straight pipe after the cat, you’d get a whistle
Pretty much the back pressure from the CAT whilst the turbo vanes release boost pressure (at least that’s the theory lol)

Edit. One way to test is to put just the cat back on and see if you get your whistle back 🎉
to get a good turbo sound accelerate up to 2000-2200 rpm then let go of the accelerator
we have a Hilux 1989 brought it with no motor dropped a Ecotec L67 in it with a 3.5" exhaust sounds mint up in the mud holes got it bogged n will sit on limmie but never seems to blow up we still run it off its guts took it out haunted Hills down in Moe Victoria if your ever down this way you should go ch co out the tracks you might enjoy them haha lots of hill climbs for experienced 4wders but still fun done the tracks while they were wet kinda lost the fourby no insurance but only paid 100 bucks for it

Mute boxes possibly fitted along the intake, remove these/this you'll get your whistle.
Hey brother did you get a check engine light after deleting the cat, because I have an 05 hilux and I’m about to delete the cat. I was looking for the 02 sensor but I couldn’t find one ?
i dont think they have any sensors on the exhaust, mine didnt have any so you should be good.

Just wondering, did you feel like you got much more sluggish, i have an issue where i need a reducer on my 3 inch straight pipes in order to get the turbo to spool up otherwise there’s a massive boost creep
Actually not sure, if does feel sluggish after about 60kmh though, I am going for a cat or muffler now

Nothing more uncomfortable undoing dumppipe to turbo. I Just did a 95series it was poop.

How hard was it to get the part of the exhaust that’s connected to the turbo
it was pretty hard and tight, once i had the right tools it made it a little easier
I rounded off one of my bolts into the turbo and couldn’t take it off. No clue what to do now

Mate how did you manage to remove all the nuts without stripling then in the process I only got one off the rest toast, I used the correct socket impact socket, I am about to pull the entire turbo off just to get to the fkn thing haha

Update? I have the same issue... i have a 2kd equipped with geometric turbo... stock exhaust doesnt have anythn else apart from the muffler.. i deleted the muffler yet no chuu sound..

@@Mezzarino Sorry just reread my reply and doesn’t make much sense. Most aftermarket exhaust for 1KD’s run a 2.5” dump off back of turbo which is usually around 1 foot long. This was to help with overboost/spike issues which would through a engine light. Yours pictured has one.
Do you have a DPF delete? I just brought a straight through pipe, if not that sounds good!

I haven't lost power, I'm not pushing for massive numbers either so it doesn't matter, ill get a cat back in thought because its too loud right now

This dude is hiding something even in his muffler delete video.. it doesnt make that chuuu sound while shifting.. i tried the muffler delete on my 2kd hilux. Only turbo whistling not chuu sound.
