John Landis should have been jailed. Screw that man to hell and Jennifer Jason Leigh still hasn't forgiven him neither has Steven Spielberg. This why Hollywood pisses me off.

manslaughter seems murky but they certinatly were guilty of hiring those kids illigally not that i am defending john landis and how he presented himself in the courtroom he paid like 2 million to the actors faamilies out of court

Yeah. I saw this ages ago and it was an eye opening experience for sure. So is reading through books like Outrageous Conduct on the case. Someone should have been held accountable with fines or jail time for what happened on the set of Twilight Zone. It's similar to other on set fatal incidents like The Crow or Rust. I don't necessarily agree with some that every single member of the crew should have served jail time. Especially since so many of them were bullied and intimidated by Landis and other producers on set. To me the majority of the blame falls on John Landis.
All of this was his idea. He was the one that wanted to shoot the scenes that were unsafe, he was the one spear heading the whole bit about the two kids along with the producer. But since he was such a big name in Hollywood at the time, pretty much everything that happened was ultimately up to him. Because all he had to do is pass on the dangerous set piece and not agree to hire underage kids and have them work outside of legal parameters.
In short, screw John Landis. I still like some of his films and he is a talented filmmaker, but he's a pathetic excuse of a human being who acted like a total jackhole on the set of this film and even after the tragedy, showing up at the funeral of Morrow despite him not getting invited and having a speech that made the whole funeral about him in a disgusting way to massage his giant ego.

Guys like Harvey Weinstein have huge disturbing dirt on them. And That’s why I completely have a nasty disdain hatred for Hollyweird. A lot of shlt goes on that we don’t know about. Like the unholy things they did to actresses like Uma Thurman and Rose McGowan are just awful. This is what they did to these girls coming up. Hollyweird is a sick place.

It's really difficult to find any of the E True Hollywood Story episodes to be honest, I managed to find the John Belushi and John Candy one and the River Phoenix one (that's another one you should look into, the died young club), and I definitely remember the Twilight Zone movie on E's 101 Shocking Entertainment Moments list next to Sam Knnison's death and Chris Farley's death (thet had Belushi's death too but also two Michael Jackson related things, one of which was the uhhhh..baby over the balcony moment which was only shocking because of how high the balcony was and it was just the media mistreating him, and the plastic surgery one, I can honestly say that at the time, making fun of MJ's appearance was common but definitely they didn't mention his skin condition) and Phil Hartman's death (you should talk about Phil Hartman and what happened). Vic Morrow did in fact say in a biography that 'i'd have to be crazy to do this.' regarding the stunts. And also yeeeeeah the story about Landis flushing John Belushi's drugs down the toilet.

There's a few on CZcams. There's also episodes of Mysteries and Scandals with AJ Benza. Hollywood is such a shit hole. When I was in art school studying animation I couldn't wait to go to Hollywood. But I was young and naive back then. When you see all the shit these guys get away with and creeps like Dan Schneider who has ruined kids' acting careers, it makes you wish that place got hit with an asteroid. The fact that scumbag John Landis got to keep making movies after this is infuriating 😠

i’m wondering now what you might think of what happened with Natalie Wood during the filming of “Brainstorm” (if you’ve even seen the movie with her and Christopher Walken) I always thought Natalie was to “Brainstorm” as Vic Morrow was to “Twilight Zone” movie.

I saw somewhere that during the production of "An American Werewolf In London", in the ending scene, Landis did not tell any of the extras about what was going on in the theater when the extras thought there was a real animal and their screams were genuine in the film.

Oh man oh man, I remember reading about the helicopter tragedy during the making of The Twilight Zone: The Movie. While it is infuriating that John Landis and the crew got acquitted, the director's later movies began to tank after the incident. I'm also reminded of the 'Midnight Rider' train incident that cost Sarah Jones' life, who was the camera assistant for Furious 7 at one point, leading to Randall Miller becoming the first director to do time...although for manslaughter. 🤦‍♂

5:18 Me neither bro here's something interesting I found out that the real reason Eddie&John Landis got into it with eachother on the set of ''Coming To America'' was because Landis was pissed at Eddie for not showing up at his trial to help support him which Eddie give his reasons why saying something like ''I don't even do that for my best friends that's your problem and your shit to work out on your own''
7:53 That a very good choice Spielberg made there.
8:56 I buy that especially if you watch that ''Inside Animal House'' documentary he did come off at times as a prick with most of the cast members sadly I hear the same thing about his son Max as well I guess he figures'' Well my Dad is one he's made a lot good films by acting like that to get his way from actors &crew members why shouldn't I?''
13:11 I believe what those 21 people said also.
I use to watch all of these type shows back in the late 90's like''E! True Hollwood Story'',''VH1 Behind The Music''&''Biography'' I remember seeing this episode I wouldn't revisiting it again sometime? A very awesome job on the review👍👍

Celebrities usually get off easy because they are seen as "celebrity gods". They are above regular people like you and I. This is a big reason why I want Hollywood to end. Give the people back their minds and stop the culture worship. I'd love to shut it all down like in "They Live" show the whole world who these people actually are.

You're right, it did explain...it explained that it really was John Landis' and his crew's fault. They deserved Jail, 100%. John Landis and the producer wanted to hire children 'out of the studio system'...because he knew that if the studio as well as the child labor folks found out he was gonna use kids next to explosions and dangerous situations, the studio would shut the film down. And if not the studio, then the labor laws. He bullied people into following his away...that's why multiple people on the stand said 'I was intimidated by him'. Landis was a druggie who was irresponsible and wreckless. John Landis is to blame and he got away with it.
