- I could not check in for my cruise. I have cruised over 30 times and this the first time going to the cruise port not checked in. Let's talk about it.

We booked last minute on the NCL Epic and therefore couldn't check in online. When we got to the counter, it was no issue. I just gave them our name and booking confirmation and no delay or troubles at all. Bon voyage!!
The cool aspect is that you are about to do something you've never done and add to your experience as a travel advisor!
0:56 - And now we see where the "magic is made!" I checked-in late on NCL one time. We just went and did it at the terminal before we boarded. It took just an extra ten minutes for four people.
Don't miss Burn The Floor dance show..best I've ever seen in 42 cruises! Also, dine OUTSIDE in Ocean Blue..great meal, KILLER Key Lime Pie...and KILLER Tiger Shrimp!!
NCL, from customs to onboard, is so well organized logistically that I doubt you will feel the difference had you booked early. I certainly am anticipating the outcome. See you at the lido.
The GM is Mario Markovich. Check out the "smiley face" on the helipad. It's the only ship in the NCL fleet that is so adorned. When I sailed, the GM was Mario, the Captain was Luigi. Seriously, the NCL Nintendo!! If you do see Mario, tell him Nita says hello!
I'm sure they'll let you on board, Tony, provided you have all the documentation. That's why I love cruising with Princess, as all you have to do is complete the Medallion App, and you are checked in. Anyway, have a great cruise.

Same thing happened to us on a last minute cruise but it was all good when we checked in at the port. HAVE A WONDERFUL TIME!!!!
I had a single cabin on the Getaway and I am your size. Everything was fine until shower time, I had to get out to turn around. I would suggest getting a pass to the Sauna and using there very large showers.

Tony. I did my first solo cruise and also my first time in an inside cabin. I enjoyed both! Cabin was cozy and perfect for one person. Do anytime dining and meet lots of nice people. Then follow up in the piano bar!!

Well, this will be interesting to watch :) We have never booked late so have no idea what that would entail. Hopefully next year we will have that problem as 2 retires ready to have some fun!! Have a great trip Tony!!

I booked our latest cruise on Royal Caribbean only 48 hours before the cruise, and although I could not book a lot of things ahead of time, I WAS able to check in online the evening before.
Just got off the Getaway this morning. I am a Platinum cruiser with NCL and have been on both the Getaway and Breakaway. Dissappointed that our itinerary was changed last minute, like at the dock and St Thomas eliminated without explanation! Buffet not up to snuff as in has been better! That said, staff was exceptional! O'Sheehans my favorite place for breakfast, and quick service. Make sure to see Burn the Floor (my fav also!) Embarkation was a bit of a nightmare because of weather and supposed early arrivals waited to arrive till later causing a real problem with crowding. I'm not much for poolside stuff but walking by it looked like people were having a great time. I'm booked on the new Prima for northern Europe (Iceland, Norway) Aug 2023. I'll be interested in your take of your cruise.

Did ship inspection on the Getaway it's an amazing ship & staff was awesome!
Only remember not checking online prior to to 2015 not sure when online check became a thing. That’s great information to know when booking last minute. Enjoy the cruise.

Enjoy the cruise. Was on the Getaway 3 weeks ago and it was awesome.
Might I recommend going to see the "Broadway" show in the Illusionarium....its kind of a prequel to the Million Dollar Quartet show, which is one of the two shows in the Theatre.
(Broadway show and MDQ have the same performers in them)
The broadway show was great, Million Dollar Quartet was outstanding-definitely a "cant miss" show.
The other theatre show is Burn the Floor which was also outstanding.
In addition, make sure you hit Syd Norman's Pour House as I feel those are also can't miss shows, albeit on a much smaller level. They mainly play classic rock songs although one of the nights they played Fleetwood Mac's "Rumours" album and gave a glimpse of what the band was going through at the time. We were at Syd's 3 nights out of the cruise and all of the nights are different.

ok for one or two cruises, but basically you can only do a Caribbean one or transatlantic from there. We fly as we are trying to go to countries that are far away while we are able. Time runs out.

Happened to me before. The website was having issues but I had my receipts and there was no problem at the port.

NCL.is my line of choice. We sailed breakaway first.week of May. First time i ever waited 5i board the ship more than a half hour. Enjoy!

Happened to me in June…. I was really nervous because I’d never experienced that before… Told them i couldn’t check in and didn’t have edocs…. They put me in a priority line and I was checked in and onboard way faster than everyone else, some who waited up to four hour!!!
Cruising since mid 90s when only option was in person checkin. Not a big deal. Actually like being greeted by a smiling person vs glowing blue screen.
having cruised / flown pre 'online check in'.... I still don't get it.... how are you 'checking in' when you aren't there yet? What happens if there is an accident or a delay...and you don't get there?

Just got off The Getaway this morning. It was a great cruise. A little disappointing that Stephanie Thomas was canceled but, oh well, that cruising in covid times. First time taking the thermal spa package. I loved it. Highly recommended. Have a great cruise!

I was on the NCL Getaway out of Miami in 2018.
Shouldn't be too much of a problem. You might get diverted to a separate desk to read and sign a bunch of forms. The line for this can be long, but hopefully most people are doing advanced check in.
My friend forgot to upgrade her internet in time in the NCL Gem in June and they took care of her as soon as we got on the ship. Same price.
Back in April I took a cruise on the Breakaway. My daughter was SUPPOSED to drive us to the airport on the day of the cruise. Instead 12 hours before we were scheduled to leave, she decided to go with us. We did allot of running around but she did end up going. She booked the cruise 15 minutes before the deadline. Needless to say that she could not check in online.
My roller skating song was Wild Wild West by Escape Club. I could skate backwards when I was 12 but its been a LONG time since i have been on roller skates. Not even sure i could skate forwards now. Lol

I’ve had the apps for checkin not work. My attitude was not my problem! Not much problem checking in at the pier.
Never booked last minute so I've always been able to check in. I love the NCL Getaway. Its a favorite. GO TO SID NORMAN'S! I'm not kidding. Its great!!! But.....you have to go early and stand in line or you won't get in. If you don't, go outside the window and sit on the couch. You can hear it fine.

It's Cruise Day....Have a Hot Dice Time
I sailed on the NCL Getaway July 2 out of Port Canaveral. We had a 10:30 Check in assignment. It seemed the rest of the ship did also. Check in was mayhem. We stood in the building entry line for and hour and then the check in line for 30 minutes to have the agent tell us she would be right back. Another 30 minutes later she returned. The Agent in the line next to us told the people she was leaving and to go find another line and then just disappeared. The people in line yelled loud enough to get one of the many Jacketed "supervisors?" wandering back and forth to come over so they could ask WTF to do. Eventually one of them came over to run the line. The rest of the cruise was good. Check in was terrible. I had done the online part so we just needed to show passports, vaccine and covid test and get room card. I can't imagine what would have been added if I had not. I sailed on the Carnival Conquest out of Miami in June. They use an app for the Covid piece and the line was consistent with a metered ingress of passengers. From stepping off the Bus to stepping on the ship it was a 20 minute afair with no discomfort or drama. Night and day experience. That said, the Carnival Cruise experience was too much of a party vibe for me and I much prefer the NCL cruise but that's definitely personal preference.

I do not anticipate any issues at all. NCL has such a good system in play at the port. I observed 2 different people, one a group of 6 and one just a couple that were late purchasing. We later met that group several times around ship. The group of 6 told us on ship they were told by NCL agent that they were the last guests allowed to purchase for that sailing. They told us(this was April and things change almost with a blink of the eye)that they were allowed to purchase at discounted rates because of the time frame but had to go to guest services for all of it as someone had to manually bypass something in the system.
Tony maybe you could create a patch and sell it to NCL?
