Thanks for joining us! - Zábava
Great show! Loved the stories about the Air Races since I live near the area where the races were. And I wonder if he worked with my dad at NASA.
Outstanding show. I've read about Keith over the years. Read his articles too. I've seen his planes at the Toledo expo. This was such a great interview. It should be made available by link to anybody reading his AMA bio. It reminds me of the conversations I had with George Aldrich, all dust blown away because they were not recorded. Consider a sub genre of podcast, the RC Roundtable Biography Interview.
That was a great interview with an extremely talented and brilliant individual. Dr. Shaw has definitely been a great influence on our hobby. I particularly enjoyed the history part of the interview. I do, however, have a not so positive comment. Toward the end of the interview Dr. Shaw states "we won". I found that to be a bit of a devisive and condescending comment. I thought we were to invite any and all types of flying aircraft, not just electric. I also was under the impression that there were no "winners" or "losers" in this great hobby with no right or wrong way to do things. Just come on out and fly and be safe. It's all good as far as I'm concerned. Thanks for your time from one of the many "loser" glow fuel burning airplane enthusiasts. You can all laugh now....... Thanks again.
Here's a video of Keith's first public flight of his amazing Bugatti racer. I'll try to convert and post the wmv file to CZcams.
