  • This is a video on how to do a tuneup on a Lexus CT200h year 2013. The vehicle was making a rattling noise particularly in the morning. This video shows how to take care of that by changing the spark plugs.

    ❤️❤️❤️ 2014 here my baby ... Lexus told me to never let anyone mess with sealed liquids I’ve spoken to other owners and they said they don’t mess with anything but spark plugs oils change every 3k to 5k miles and tires and brakes and flush of of the on the left side of the car can’t remember what’s it’s called. ThAt fluid with the black cover fluid to your left arm in the video 😩 I suck at car work lol .
    THANKS FOR THIS VIDEO IF I EVER NEED IT

    If you don’t have a magnet I used a 5/8 sparkplug socket pull the plug out and insert the new plug and 14mm socket to tighten

    Manual recommends not to change gap in spark plug I checked gap in new plugs and it was correct from factory 1.1mm

    Changed spark plugs. And still makes the idle noise when i turn it on. What can be the issue after that?

    • @MikeDiCiero
      @MikeDiCiero Před rokem

      its a cold weather issue, its a design flaw in the manifold, ice is created in the manifold and the noise goes away when the engine heats up

    It looks like your head gasket is failing. Cold starts knocking misfire from wet cylinder is head gasket problems

    My lexus has started to make a similar sound when the engine hybrid battery goes low until it picks up some charge again and then the noise disappears. It's not harming the car but the noise is embarrassing. Anyone got any ideas if this is also spark plugs? Manufacturer confused why it's happening.

      Look into couple of other things:
      - EGR pipe & cooler cleaning (former is fairly easy to do yourself, latter i havent done but it's more involved).
      - Cleaning the throttle body (also fairly easy)
      For EGR pipe, i used this video as guide: czcams.com/video/oQXa5MJaTOk/video.html
      Good luck

      @hiwrenhere Před 2 lety

      Check if you are losing coolant. If you are, then your head gasket will need to be replaced. The EGR cooler isn't going to cause you to lose coolant.

      @@hiwrenhere mine ended up needing a head gasket I scoped it and saw cylinder 2 had coolant in it. Very small coolant loss. 250k miles no big deal. Putting a rebuilt head on. and all egr stuff is clean with new injectors LOL

    If your engine is shaking....you might have a broken head gasket failure.

      This is what ours did. We took to dealership and after a few weeks discovered cracked head gasket. Advised to drive til it died b/c replacement of head gasket would be as expensive as new engine. Drove til it blew up. Purchased used engine, had it replaced (not at dealership) over year ago. Drives like a champ.
