as someone who loves learning languages, this is such a great way to practice. your pronanciation is so so good! I also walk around saying things in korean to practice my skills lol and I just love how you treat your classmates and compliment them and give them confidence. you guys seem fun!

I'm British and quite often some of your words sounded like British English.
Like 'dinner, teacher, dating' all sounded very British.
I find it interesting as an British English teacher in Korea, it would be so amusing to hear all of my students speaking with a "British" accent.

Honestly Alyssa Rose, obviously there's Korean Americans in the West but it's up to the parents or guardians to teach them their heritage language. I wish I knew my heritage language but it was lost in the colonization like so many others.
Tbh they’re all pretty good at speaking English imo. To pass as someone who lived in a country speaking English, the accent is key, so to pass as someone in the UK a British accent, someone in Canada a Canadian accent, the US, an American accent, etc. But I love accents from other places, I love the Korean accent, the French accent, the Venezuelan accent, and pretty much all of them. So I feel like the goal should be to know a language, but not necessarily pass as someone born there (with the accent of people from there, that is). If I went around and everyone had the same accent, I would miss out on all of the cool and different accents from everywhere.

Your motivation to learn English is commendable. I'm a substitute teacher who just worked 2 weeks in an English learning class in the US, and only 10% of students actually wanted to learn English, even though they live in America. The other 90% of students were being so mean every time I tried to get them to learn new words. I applaud you for wanting to try 👏🙌 Im learning Korean, Mandarin, and Japanese, and trying to relearn French since Im from France. It was funny hearing you count numbers repeatedly in French 🤣

Your pronunciation is very good! It’s so interesting when you’re learning something like Korean and people bring up dialect where is the same thing but English and different accents. Sometimes you sound more American. Sometimes you sound more British but your articulation is very very good!
Your English is so impressive! And so is your French~ You have quite a natural accent and as someone who wants to learn Korean, but has not learned a lot yet, this is quite inspirational! I love languages so this was very interesting to watch :)
I’m learning Korean, I like TTMIK, Korean Grammar in Use, and Anki the most.
Korean Grammar in Use as a reference
Add all words I see in life and TTMIK into my Anki deck, and some grammar points.
Learn Hangul (like 30 minutes)
I wanted to type in Korean so I learned that
TTMIK grammar book & workbook 1 w/ Notes
Then 2
Then 3
read TTMIK Korean vocab
read TTMIK’s my first 500 Korean words
fluent forever training for pronunciation
Then, TTMIK books 4-10 maybe, that’s what I want to do.
HTSK is also good (How to Study Korean). I use it mostly as a reference for when there’s a grammar point I just don’t quite get.
Read, write, speak, and watch videos that are in Korean. Try to immerse yourself from home. There’s a website, it’s called something like Canadian books, and it has many books at different levels and languages for free. Korean is one of the available languages! So I read using that. And I read manhwas and write words that I don’t know and add that to my Anki.
NAVER diction has been the best dictionary for me. Any new words, I chuck them in there (see, typing comes in handy) and then I can just add them to Anki.

I didn't know school could be this fun. In our schools phones are not allowed at all. I'm from India btw but it was nice watching you guys speak english cause I didn't have to depend on english subtitles this time. In India english is our official language along with hindi and we start learning it from kindergarden itself so we're mostly good at english. Just sharing our pov as well. good work guys! @Nanno stan EVERGLOW that's a very broad and harmful generalization to make. there are over a billion people in india, and each group of people has different accents. not everyone here has the heavy, stereotypical accent that first comes to mind for foreigners

My friends used to speak only English to each other in school too but our punishment was getting hit in the leg really hard. 😂 We also changed the language on our phones into English for a week and I loved it so much that I never switched back. I only went to Korea once when I was in 3rd grade, I went to elementary school during the summer and my Korean is really bad... but all my classmates were so welcoming and their English was really good too so I never felt out of place ㅠㅠ This video just reminded me of that memory, thanks for sharing :,)
