Thank you so much for producing this video. I have a second hand Nippy skiving machine and it came without a manual. I have barely used it since I bought it. After viewing this video I realise I now need to find the tools you used to clean and sharpen the stone.
Hi, could you take some pictures of sharpener stone belt routing ?
I'm trying to compare different types of presser feet. The foot you use here has a steep bevel on the curve. I have found such feet to be fine for edge skiving but not too good for panel skiving. Feet with only a very slight bevel seem to work better for panel skiving. Has this also been your experience?

Yes, you need to grease and oil the machine. There is a video showing how to do it somewhere on the Internet.

Is it possible to setup the Nippy NP-202 so that the speed of the feed roller can be controlled individually, while the bell knife turns at full speed (like in some Fortuna machines)? Or would this require a second motor?

I see what you mean, that is not possible on mine. It must be possible to add a second motor I had a friend who did it on similar type of machine but I never the need of it.

I have a problem, the grinder is sharpening the blade but in the wrong place. It does so far inside, and not on the edge where it is supposed to do it. I Try to move the blade to the right, so that the grinder can do it at a better angle. But that is not enough yet. I want to know what I can do, if there is a way to move the grinder so that it can sharpen in the right place. Please if someone can help me 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
THat's probably because your blade is new, you will have to leave the sharpening on for a while until the blade has the right angle.

Machine is cutting into the fabric instead of skiving
What are you talking about ? This is a skiving machine, it is used for leather not fabric
@@Theleathercraftacademy I loosely called the leather fabric for grammatical reasons. What I meant is the leather is being cut instead of being even if I raise the stone.
Leather is being stuck between stone and blade. Which adjustments should I make?

Your knife might be blunt and the stone should sit as close as possible to the knife.
What leather type are you using ?
