Track Info: Rockford Speedway - A historical .29167 mile asphalt oval with a limestone base. Corners are banked at 22 degrees and are 50 ft wide with a roller coaster effect. Straights are banked at 8 degrees and are 40 ft wide.
Track History: Rockford Speedway is located just seven miles north of Rockford, IL in Loves Park, IL. Rockford Speedway is Northern Illinois’ longest running sports and entertainment venue.
Since the inaugural season in 1948, the high-banked quarter mile oval has been tabbed as “Mid-America’s Finest Racetrack.” Rich in racing tradition, this reputation has been well earned through hosting major events like the granddaddy of all short track post season events, the National Short Track Championships.
This prestigious event has helped launch the careers of the NASCAR stars such as Mark Martin, Dick Trickle, Alan Kulwicki, Ted Musgrave, Rusty Wallace, Rich Bickle, Greg Biffle, Matt Kenseth, Travis Kvapil, Jamie McMurray, Todd Kluever, Erik Darnell, and Scott Wimmer.
The racing is sanctioned by the National Association of Stock Car Racing, NASCAR. Rockford Speedway participates in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series. The divisions that compete at the Rockford Speedway includes: Late Model, Sportsman, American Short Trackers, Road Runners, Hornets, Bandits, Winged Women on Wheels and Figure 8’s. The track also hosts many different touring series including: ARCA Midwest Tour, Big 8 late Model Series, Mid-American Stock Car Series, Illini Racing Series Midgets, Super Cups and more.
Focused on entertaining the fans, Rockford Speedway’s family-oriented racing schedule is nationally known for its innovative events like the ‘Original Trailer Race of Destruction,’ ‘World Famous Figure 8 Trailer Race’ and ‘Night of Thrills.’ The Speedway also welcomes nationally-known monster trucks like Tail Gator, Devastator and Mechanical Mischief along with Doug Rose and his world famous Green Mamba Jet Car.
The Speedway is a quarter-mile, high-banked, asphalt race track with fan-friendly grandstand seating on both sides. The facility has been used for circuses, concerts, car shows, sporting events, swap meets, outdoor sales and numerous community fundraising events. - Auta a dopravní prostředky

Nissan Xterra driver here: They always line me up against fast cars, first that awd Jeep and this Continental.
I REALLY wish they would at least match the vehicles a bit better on the first round!

The Corvette jumped in finals on race 1. Should been STI that won
I agree but Subaru had AWD which is a big advantage and inside lane on the rounds to the final. What the Corvette did on the 3rd final lap was immense as he cornered better than the Subaru to win it.

Notice how the smart racers, buick, cobalt, convertible vette, stay outside and carry speed through the corner and accelerate on their way out. It's the longest line. But it's also the fastest.

i had the challenger i was scared to even race that hoodless pos dude tried to run the camaro into the wall. not worth risking your daily for races against people who don’t give a dam about their car. racing that corvair was a lot of fun though that thing had the engine in the back seat with a full roll cage and sequential shifter

The announcer thinks he is the wittiest man alive, and the volume of his voice increases wit by 10%.
Buick out of pity. The announcer apparently doesn't know much about a Buick of any kind. The 3.8 was Supercharged in some of them.

The Focus driver was focused on high school Harry's hair instead of focusing on the starter.

Since the Subaru is meant for this kind of small race with its AWD it’s obviously going to get a better start and traction on corners along with about 300 horses and that huge spoiler for downforce. Having said that the C4 Corvette was immense, yes he did jump one start but the final 3rd round the Corvette looked like he was cornering better than the Subaru. Also the Subaru almost entirely had inside lane on the races throughout the rounds, which is again an advantage. All good fun and just goes to show how adaptable those Corvettes were.

I understand if you're not a car guy, but you'd think he at least wonder why THEY DO BURNOUTS before they lineup AT EVERY DRAG STRIP. Let me keep it short for ya skinny, burnout=heat heat=friction friction=traction. Nobodys trying to "impress the highschool girls".... Like you notice the guys that do even a slight rip before they lineup, always have the jump. And sometimes the jump equals the win. Little thing called a holeshot in MX racing.

@nthgth it's most effective and widely applied in drag racing, but no matter what you definitely want your tires warmed up. You never want cold tires, and you don't want your tires too hot either

No I got way more power than the focus. Also it's Def not fastest Focus it was just loud
Focus wins that race vs the STI. Run the times for each race. Consistency faster. It actually wasn't even that close.

Fact, mustangs and corvettes get beaten every day on the street, none of them are fast, their owners egos are bigger than their own heads are. It's fun watching them get all pissy when they lose, especially if they spent a fortune on their car and they get beat by a Honda with 2 grand of motor work done to it, puts a smile on my face every time
Your comment is so wrong, this C4 Corvette is an old car and the Subaru has a huge advantage of AWD a huge spoiler but on the final 3rd lap the Corvette cornered much better to win. Corvettes through each generation are faster than Porsche 911’s mustangs BMWs etc.
