    Here's a band that isn't famous but should be. Nobody ever mentions them. Barkmarket.
    The singer, guitarist, and main songwriter was Dave Sardy (also known as D Sardy). He has gone on to an illustrious career as a mixer, engineer, and producer for a who’s who of the music industry. Have you ever heard of any of the following? Red Hot Chili Peppers, Slayer, Helmet, System of a Down, Marilyn Manson, The Dandy Warhols, Rage Against the Machine, Bush, Jet, Johnny Cash, Oasis, NIN, OK Go, The Rolling Stones, Wolfmother, Cold War Kids, LCD Soundsystem, Chris Cornell, Spoon, Band of Horses, Stone Temple Pilots, Snow Patrol, Fall Out Boy, Royal Blood, Death From Above 1979, Incubus, A Perfect Circle, The Who, and Modest Mouse? The dude has been a producer, mixer, or engineer with ALL OF THEM! But it all started with his own band: Barkmarket, which was one of his first production credits.He is still writing his own music with a new project names UNEQUAL, which is also awesome, but much different from Barkmarket.
    If I had to pick one song for a newbie to start with, it would probably be “Visible Cow” off of the album “L Ron”. If you want to dive deeper into how unique they were, I would recommend "Dumbjaw", "Whipping Boy", or the truly unique "Static" from the incredible "Gimmick" album.

      @jakegomt Před 2 lety

      FAN.TASTIC recommendation. Barkmartket, criminally underrated. Love nearly all of their material, but the final album L. Ron is pure gold. Jamming out to Fresh Kills, Shiner, Undone, etc. they get me every time. Excellent call dude.

    In high school in the 90's I was looking for something heavier than the Korns and Mudvaynes that everyone was listening to and I found that in Vision of Disorder. They steered me into the hardcore direction and I would go on to find bands like Converge, Bane, and etc because so. It was a blessing to have VOD in my life at such a young age. You're more correct than you'd know: while modern hardcore acts like metalcore and deathcore bands are too many generations removed, hardcore music comes directly from the same roots as punk bands in the late 70s at the beginning and some of the older acts like VoD still retain a lot of that lineage so not surprising you'd make that connection just from listening

    Great choice of artist Geebz. That double time section you're referring to in metal means time for the circle pit. They were fairly popular in NY back in the 90's, I bought their album Imprint back in middle school. I would recommend their song "Through My Eyes" because the breakdown in that song live was insanity. The mosh pit was absolutely primal.

    I have no idea if you'll see this! In the UK we just recently lost a composer called Tim Smith who fronted a band called Cardiacs. He was a legit composer of his time but wrote music too zany for the radio. I would respectfully submit "dirty boy" or perhaps the live version of "big ship" for your consideration. He basically wrote classical music but played it via a punk band setup. I think you'd appreciate the compositional approaches. The album "sing to god" has basically every song sounding
    completely different from each other. They have a rabid cult following so should be good for CZcams views, lol
