I used to think it was a bore reading through the Bible. But once I realized the depths of its structure, and how it builds on itself in types, it really does come alive. Ancient writing is very unlike modern writing, it just takes seeing it through new eyes. And at some point I realized it’s not just a cute literary device, but the actual way God works in history.

Every nation wanted an empire and plenty existed Britain was just the best at it. We had an Empire that wasn't perfect but it was by far the most benign in history. Like the Romans, we took what we wanted but we also often improved countries after we left. And unlike the Romans we supported them after the fall of our empire with the commonwealth.
The USA would not have become the bastion of freedom it is today without our influence. We came up with common-law and our Christian based laws and culture helped liberty to flourish.

We actually used to use a lot of spices in our early recipes (since 1300) and the Romans brought plenty but maybe because they aren't grown native we didn't really get a good handle on how to use them until recently 🤣

@@oldistdragon7129it's actually easier than you think. It's not until you have one and start figuring it out, that you realize if CAN be done. I know, as someone without kids, you can't fathome it. But as someone that was 23 and made 11 an hr, I made it happen. Now I'm about 30 and made my way up. Not much left over thanks to inflation mainly, but I have three kids now, and it's easier than you would ever think. Once you have that baby look at you, all the work is worth it and sooner than you want, you'll see those days fly by and almost, almost, with to go back lol
I guess in short, don't be so harsh, everyone has the same outlook. Then they have kids. Sure not everyone becomes good parents. But that's a personal choice. YOU decide to be a good parent.

It takes a couple of years, it’s always been that way. When my brother was born and I was 4 my parents also had a roommate, the 3 of us shared a room in a bad neighborhood and my brother was in the closet, literally. My dad worked long hours and eventually got promoted to a 9-5 and income went up from there.
Young people believe this myth that previous generations graduated high school and got a six figure job right out of high school and bought a house for ten bucks and it just isn’t true. They just grinded more and complained less.
We’re a one income household. My husband makes 40k a year as an assistant manager at a grocery store and we have 3 kids we homeschool. It’s totally doable. We share one vehicle because we only need one. People are babies and scared of giving up video games and eating out 3 nights a week. We’re considered the very lowest of middle class. Having no degrees and therefore no student loans helps. It’s a lot harder with Biden as president but it’s not as bad as people have it in other countries or as bad as it’s ever been in this country. I wish I would have started earlier and could have had more kids.

Using a civics test wouldn't work because the wrong people can study to pass a "test" just to shape the direction of our country.
