  • Many students and even seasoned coders seem uncertain about the difference between codes identified as “unspecified” and those identified as “other specified.” These are also expressed NOS and NEC.
This video defines these terms, compares them, and provides examples of both.
In addition to this CZcams channel, I have a Podcast channel. See

I have written books on coding, including ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and E/M coding. These are available on Amazon: www.amazon.com/s?k=tropin&i=s...

Hi Terri thanks for posting today I appreciate you. I have a question what do you think about A I taking over coding jobs revenue cycle jobs should we be worried? If so what and where in this field should we pivot to? I’d appreciate your response.

AI already took over, it’s called EPIC. If you do outpatient professional coding all your basically doing is auditing. EPIC can pick the E/M and diagnosis codes for the provider. Your best bet is to go toward the inpatient facility side. IMO.

@@talk3194 ohhh wow that’s really funny because I use Epic as an Outpatient coder but the system doesn’t add modifiers like I do this is really scary I was thinking about getting an Epic certification and move around that way. But I think I’ll take your advice Terri inpatient is challenging for me since I have gotten older since you’re not teaching anymore I was thinking about training for inpatient with Libman I think that’s the name any suggestions for inpatient training? I am a CCS and CPC.
