  • Built as an enduring symbol to introduce the world to Vancouver and Canada during Expo '86, Canada Place has grown into a Canadian icon nestled in the calm waters of the Burrard Inlet. Now, over 25 years later, the roof and iconic sails have surpassed their expected life span and a complete replacement is required, including tear-down and replacement of the "sails" that define Vancouver's sky-line.
The roof rehabilitation is made possible through the federal government's Infrastructure Stimulus Fund - a key component of Canada's Economic Action Plan.
Daily Plant takes a behind-the-scenes look at the process.
