Teenager who helps Santa gets a surprise from a Secret Santa

The EastIdahoNews.com team is busy helping a local Secret Santa give $1 million to deserving people in eastern Idaho this holiday season. Every day, from now until Christmas, we will post videos of the recipients being surprised with these life-changing gifts.
Annalei has a huge heart. For over a year, this teenager saved her money to buy a mailbox for kids to send letters to Santa. She finally accomplished this and bought one.
For the past 3 years, she has written to Santa to ask if her mailbox can be a certified dropbox. This means the elves will pick up the letters each night. If the letters have a return address, Santa will send a letter back. Annalei takes pride in this gift she gives to others.
Last year the wind blew her mailbox over and it broke into several pieces. She and her dad have pieced it back together as well as possible but it still leaks and the lights don't work.
Annalei is heartbroken. She has approached a few businesses to help make a new box, but it is very expensive. She would love a new box to keep her and other kids Christmas magical.
Secret Santa asked the East Idaho News elves to pay Annalei a visit and surprise her with an early Christmas present. Check out the video in the player above!

Good choice secret Santa . This young lady definitely has the Christmas spirit.
In Canada, the post office has a service at this time of year. Children can write to Santa, for free. The letters are answered by the staff, and a reply is sent by Santa. The return letter would have a special Santa postmark, from the post office in the North Pole. I believe that it is done voluntary by the staff. I don’t know if that tradition is still being done.
I grew up in a small town,and my mom worked at the post office, so she would bring the letters home to work on them. As I got older, I would help her. It was a great way to share time with my mom, and talk about the kids growing up in our town. It always got me in the spirit of the season.

I can tell you that Canada Post still does Santa letters. As an employee it is one of the best parts of my job. We have special pens and stickers to put on the letters and we keep the tradition up, even through COVID and everything else. It's free to send the letters to Santa and they don't need a stamp to be returned, Santa takes care of that :)
I love the idea of Secret Santa spreading more Christmas Cheer. It looks like Anna Lee is the perfect helper and it makes me so happy that giving cheer to others makes her so happy! Merry Christmas everyone.
Teenagers get a bad rep, I suppose teenagers have always had a bad rep. I think there are more good than bad, but this young lady is on another level.!

She is wonderful! When we lived in Belgium, my kids would mail their letters to Santa. They would automatically go to Lapland, Finland Arctic Circle (home of Santa) and he would reply! My kids were overjoyed each year to receive his letter! So what she is doing is VERY special.
