    I always bring up the quote (it's one or two years old now), from a former Swedish prime minister. He was asked by a Danish journalist what Denmark should do, to make sure we avoid the problems Sweden is facing (though, in reality, that likely won't happen, since Denmark took a far harsher stance on immigration almost a decade earlier). The reply the journalist got was:
    *"Save yourselves, blow up the bridge."* He's referring to the Øresund bridge which connects Denmark to Sweden.

      When countries and people (Western) try to make their image better and trying hard to have higher moral ground than the rest, this sh*t smacked in their faces as a reality check.

      @blackrook268 Před 5 měsíci +92

      There are plenty of people who don't necessarily hate the country however they also don't agree with their new countries' values either. This will, regardless of ill intent or not, will create a divide and lead to conflict. For a community to succeed they have to share some form of value. America did it by offering "The American Dream" a shared value of being able to become successful by simply integrating properly and obeying the laws. However even in America that idea has mostly died in the current day large cities. With no other shared value the crime rate spiked because those without the means to succeed were left to fend for themselves as politicians became greedy and turned a blind eye and the police became to fearful to enter such communities. The social experiments have been conducted, we see the results, to successfully meld a group of people you need to strictly enforce laws, with true punishments, and share some common value. Otherwise it will ALWAYS lead to the "strong" taking what they want while the rest suffer as a consequence.

Would their citizens be happy being edged out of their own countries by foreigners who look, speak, pray and act differently than them? The answer is obvious.

      It was quite ridiculous completely ignoring the real reason why majority of gang members are immigrants which is simply because they have connections in their home countries which they can use to smuggle drugs into Sweden! For this is exact reason immigrants coming from more orderly countries do not operate gangs as they don't have gangs operating in their home countries which can provide them drugs. So the picture is a lot larger than a Swedish problem rather it is whole worn-torn middle east and underdeveloped eastern Europe problem. For example Turkey seizes more heroin than ENTIRE Europe combined every year and actively fighting against both Turkish and Kurdish gangs as their income often end up in Iraq, Syria or Afghanistan fueling terrrorist organizations and their drug production activities. On the other hand check how much drugs Greece, Bulgaria, Romania etc seized in last years, spoiler alert ''no data avaiable'' for most of them!! Europe needs to take much tougher stance against drugs which is the real thing fueling gang activity not immigration at all..

    As a german, I want to disagree to your conclusion at 14:49 , that we don't have such problems in Germany. According to the police report 2023, lethal crimes like murder, manslaughter, mayhem and rape are historical high. Same with the statistics about crimes caused by foreigners towards German citizens. There is even a classification word for north africans who are committing multiple crimes and ressistant to rehabilitation.
    There are no hand granade throwings or weapon mayhems running through street like in sweden, that is true. But it is common, that crime family wars are played on the street nowadays. A good example is the fighting between the newcomer criminals from syria vs already established libanese crime families in the city of essen. Or the constant fightings between palestinian crime families and libanese crime families in Berlin and so on.
    It would be really interesting, if you could make a video about this topic please. Thank you very much

That being said, this video does a good evenhanded job of exploring the causes, although the comment section shows that their efforts to be fair and thorough were almost useless since the majority of comments are about immigrants themselves being the problem, instead of admitting that treating these people poorly could be pushing them to do more and more extreme things to survive.

    In the US, states like Utah, Idaho, Montana and a few other nearby states used to have no gangs. The cities tended to be small with lots and lots of wilderness. Big families and family values were higher than in big cities.
    So people who had kids "running with a bad crowd" would send them to live with Auntie etc in these small places.
    Often these kids weren't "big fish" where they were but in a small town they were "uber tough". So they'd share what they knew and eventually the gang "affiliation" developed. Kids from big cities moved to these places for other reasons (parents new job, marriage, divorce etc)
    So, when I got a job working with teens in an "at risk gang/drug program i was quite shocked when I saw these "homie gangstas" who were pale, freckled kids when I expected to see "bros"
    As said in the introduction Sweden as well as neighboring countries have a 'reputation' for being one of the best places in the world to live.
    So people with problems head there hoping some of the "happy living" rubs off.
    But a transfer of ANY KIND usually goes both ways.
    The people coming are looking for happiness but they bring a lot of bad luggage with them😢

    Having grown up as an immigrant in the haven of peace that was Malmõ in the 1970´s (now one of the most crime-ridden cities in Sweden), this is unbelievable...I visited Sweden and Malmõ a few times after moving back to my native Portugal, last time some 4-5 years ago and surely, you could see a lot of signs that things were not the same (both positive and negative, mind you), but I´d never expect it to get anything near this level. Never thought living in Lisbon would be much, much safer than in the quaint, paroquial Malmõ of my childhood. I glad that at least there, there are some positive signs. I still consider Sweden my second home country, and I really hope they can get their act together and overcome this.

And I get called a racist for just mentioning immigration, foreigners or agreeing with anything SD (it's a party) says. Just because I happen to agree with one out of a hundred does not make me a racist or one of them. That's like calling me a nazi for liking the idea of putting my country and my people first. I mean, I gave up on my country a long time ago and even moved to an isolated island to avoid people and whilst I realise that people like me contribute to the problem by just trying to sleep through it all, I just cannot see a solution. Because the government knew what they were doing. Western countries, Scandinavian ones especially, have a declining and ageing population and the government will need to keep the work force going so they opted to get migrant in so they can replace that massive gap that will form 20-30 years from now. Same with Germany.
      I have always said, make the legal alternative easier for expats so you get people who are actually contributing to the community and society and pull their own weight as opposed to letting floods of illegal migrants to come in and then you have to look after them because you don’t allow them to work
      My dad brought us to the UK as his dependents when he applied for his PhD at Imperial College back in 2013. We are still EXTREMELY proud of being a strict Muslim and have not lost touch with our culture or mother tongue. But we are also an active part of the native community, we speak the language fluently amongst other languages, we peacefully coexist with almost any other group, every member of my family either works, or studies or both. Now this was NEARLY impossible and it cost a LOT of money (over 1 million dollars in the last 11 years) and we are still not British citizens. which is why I can see illegal immigration being the favourable option as those people get a house, passport, income and don’t even need to learn the language and everything is subsidised. Fix your system to make it easier for legal expats and you will see the fruits of your labour

      When chaos reigns, the people are willing to hand over their rights to the government. And the government is more than happy to take them, and more, because nothing on earth compares to the feeling of power and control over other people.
      It's a tale old as time.

Kids that grew up together turning on each other because they had no leader ship to keep them in check and it made Chicago a very dangerous place.

    I suggest Sweden implement the "Islas Marias" solution used by Mexico. The offenders could be sent to a Swedish island and serve out their sentences there, and then offered the opportunity to return to their country of origin, or remain on the island as un-incarcerated inhabitants. Some employment could be made available, such as making crafts, weaving hammocks, perhaps fishing and smoking their catches, etc. which could be sold on the mainland so that they could purchase things they felt they wanted. On the Islas some prisoners even had their families living with them.

      No it’s a mainstream topic. It is THE main political debate in Sweden currently and most parties openly acknowledge that the issue lies with our faulty and naive immigration policies. Even the social democrats are arguing for a “very strict” migration policy “for a very long period” so… of course there’s the loonies like the greens and left party who have their heads in the clouds, but aside from them every single political party in parliament acknowledge that our immigration policies have failed. The question is what to do about it. The SocDems take a more integrative approach, hoping to curtail immigration until we have managed to “integrate” the people who are already here, while the centre right is arguing for making it harder to live here if you’re a foreigner. The hard right is arguing for expulsions. All of the approaches have pros and cons. The centre left approach might not work, since it hasn’t worked for the last couple of decades, the centre right plan might not tackle the root issues and make foreigners actually be more likely to not integrate or commit crimes to get by, and the hard right proposals are difficult from a human rights and international law standpoint. You can’t really deport your own citizens, and almost half of gang members, while they have a foreign background and might be eligible for another citizenship, are nonetheless Swedish citizens. The hard right is trying to push for being able to revoke citizenship for serious crimes but I don’t think it’s possible legally speaking

I am so grateful to God for realising that I should look inwards. I have changed, became a lot less arrogant, stopped talking about my country of origin and actively asked my Danish counter parts to involve me in their activities and traditions. In not time, those people became decade long friends. I have put an active effort to integrate, I have not looked for help from the state. The state cannot make friendships and relationships for you.
      These people with immigrant background have no chance because the don't want any chance.
      All these integration policies are bullsh*t. Integration comes from the immigrant not from the host country. People who think otherwise have no contact with integrated immigrants.
      I have to say that I have in my network both integrate and non-integrated immigrants. As an integrated immigrant you end up not willing to deal with any non-integrated immigrants for the very fact that they make an active effort to avoid the host culture and traditions.     The integration itself can be a lucrative goal from an economic, societal and internal security standpoint, an even better solution is assimilation. The problem with assimilating families into foreign nations is that... they're families, they're bound to keep using the same language. Personally I invision a model loosely based on the French Foreign Legion, with the main alterations being;
    -Shortened service time, with at or at least 1 year of service, thus to give time for the foreigners to pass national requirements for being citizens of the nations they serve.
    -Initial ceremonial foreign service, with later being volountary and subject to the regular service.
    -Housing programs, based or inspired by the Singaporean model, which has shown extreme success in removing the arteficial boundaries taught by previous generations, which can lead a path to normalisation of such type of immigration, even in more ethnically monotone nations.
    -There has to be some sort of argument to be made here about a broader Conditional Basic Income, given that even with the pay from the completed service, being well off reduces the chances of not being well off in the future. This video is not about Universal Basic Income however, so I'll refrain.
    All in all, there can be plenty more things done to strenghten both the unity and the availible workforce and overall population number and density, each having distinct disadvantages which are heavily outweighed by the base advantages and the fact that such actions grant greater internal and international flexibility, thus giving the particular states key advantages over others;
    And as reminder, this is mostly theoretical, because societal norms are hard to change when not challanged by a clear failure, though given late stage capitalism and some right side regression...
