    • Roland JV80 JV880 JV90...
The file will be sent to your email as .syx. You will need a high-quality USB to midi cable such as the Roland UM1 MK2. It is available at Amazon. www.amazon.com...
I cannot vouch for any other USB to midi cables but from experience, the cheap cables have never worked for me when it comes to transferring bulk and .syx files back and forth. I used a free midi utility to create this file and to send it back into the JV80. I have
double-checked to make sure that the file I am sending you works properly. Here is the free midi utility that I used. I did not have to make any adjustments other than select my midi cable device from the list for input and output.

    1) Press WRITE.
    2) Use the CURSOR RIGHT button to select "PROTECT."
    3) Press ENTER.
    4) Use PARAMETER SLIDER 1 to change the "INTERNAL" memory protect value to

JV-80, a solid foundation for all its successors, starting with JV-880, JV-1000, JV-90, VE-JV1 Voice Expansion Board which is the JV-80's heart and soul, and continues to JV-1080, XP-50/60/80, JV-2080/1010, XV-5080, and Integra-7, and still remains in the subsequent release of Roland synthesizers.

Something like that, yeah. JV1080 tried to incorporate the D50 interconnections with these 4 "Operators" again, which were completely boringly parallel in the JV80, just like in a Korg M1.

Synth patches are really well built. Love it. I`m pleasently suprised how lead tones sound good for such a old unit. Some are maybe too bright for my taste, but most are very warm and full. Those GM alike presets are not my cup of tea.

I (try to play) Genesis and want to get a keyboard for the piano and organ sounds. Are patches easy to access, easy to program and change existing sounds? Sounds great to me!!!

@@stevemmx These are relatively cheap used... normally under 500.00.. hard to beat! Also look for a Roland JV1000 or JV90.. exact same sound engine. I also have the JV1000... the difference is it has more keys and a built in sequencer. www.ebay.com/itm/Roland-JV-1000/153384663625?hash=item23b6703a49:g:zBsAAOSwTIlcYD6M:rk:1:pf:1&frcectupt=true

@@PeterWalkerHP16c What a tragedy! Im obsessed with my Juno, JX10 and SH101. Funny that you bring up the UNO LX, I was actually up for a few hours last night comparing the two back and forth. TAL did a good job trying to recreate the juno but its just not the same. The plugin isn't bad by any means but theres something smoother and arguably thicker about the real ones. Hope you get another Juno someday!

Hi, I am a Korg user with machines fron that age. I also own a Roland U220. To me is easier to put my hands on Korg, deep editing but logical. I bet the JV88 has the typical Roland editing I found on my U220. It scares me a little, but I really have to do it. I think we have to look for some Roland old modules tutorials here on CZcams. Probably it is easier than we think. Let's do it!👍
