    Why not shim it with a stainless steel shim?

    I had a 0.004 gap on my rifle ejector, so looking at the same view as your rifle removed the upper pin from Rt. To Lt. inserted a 0.002 shim and replace the pin LT. to Rt. I will be shooting today and let you know if I have any problems…. But I have to say that your video was food for thought…. Thanks

      I actually debated shimming it. That is probably the better way to do it and should work for the lifetime of the rifle. Thanks for sharing!

      @@ringsteeltv3179 It has been some time since I've have gotten back to you about the shin working and it does works very well, but I do have another problem with the Bergara, it does not like hollow points. Have you experienced the same problem?

      @@lja4429 I think the only HP I shot was the American Eagle 38gr. It was a miserable group and the worst performing. My recollection was I thought something was wrong with the rifle after I shot it. I think you will find all HP rounds supersonic and possibly copper washed. I had zero luck with supersonic rounds. Thanks for watching!

    Hey great video. I am particularly interested in what you call Bolt locking issue. I have not seen a video on that and that is my problem with my B14R.
    That occurred on first round I put in it. Just wanted to cycle live ammo and the failure rate was 50-90% depending on ammo. Bergara sent me replacement extractors. Got any other ideas on that?
    Keep up the great videos

    Good video 👍
    Looks like a easy fix.
    Just wondering if you sanded it down before you put it back in the chassis.
    Wondering if the dimples would affect the bedding?

      @davidaguiar1387 Před 4 měsíci

      No. The ejector can be seen through the magazine well. It is not in a area that contacts the stock at all.

  • @dman3526
    @dman3526 Před 9 měsíci

    So what happens when the extractor breaks and you need to instal a new one?

  • @FishOn1
    @FishOn1 Před 2 lety +1

    Maybe I understand this incorrectly, but you seem to be staking the receiver. I thought the idea was to stake the ejector itself. Bottom line, either way will probably work.

    • @ringsteeltv3179
      @ringsteeltv3179  Před 2 lety

      That is correct. Im not staking directly on the ejector would work in this case. In my case it was loose in all directions. To stake from the bottom you would need to ensure the ejector was pulled as far away from the bolt as possible before using the punch. By staking the way its done here the ejector can be as close to the bolt as possible. If you look at BCG staking of the bolts holding the gas block you stake into the item that needs to be secured from the surrounding metal. Same with castle nuts. You don't stake the castle nut but the metal backplate it rests against. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!

    I believe I'd get begara to give me an ejector that fit , rather than staking a the receiver that's seems a little shade tree

    • @ringsteeltv3179
      @ringsteeltv3179  Před 2 lety +1

      Unfortunately this is Bergara's solution whether you do it or you send it in per the USA support rep.
      "As long as your ejector is not moving the only thing it can be is how you cycle the bolt. Mechanical ejectors only work as well as the individual cycling the bolt. Check for movement on the ejector and stake it if need be.

    Get a pointer when showing what you're talking about.
    Fingers are too big and you can't see what for !
    You see those two screws @ 2:50 mins. they were hitting my mag. and messing up with loading a round so I filed them down and now the bolt moves freely over the lips of the mag. Before about 1 out os 10 would always jam when loading.
