He's a Sales Person. That's what he does and what the film is all about. Remember the entry scene where it is shown how he paints the picture of the story by saying what color his car has and then the color of the car changes? The film shows how Jordan Belfort really sells a story to you. It's just an amazing mind-blowing film, but Jordan Belfort is just what he always was: A liar. And that wont ever change. Don't believe anything he says, he always uses his own sales tactics against you. Scratch the truth, but the deaper the story goes, the wronger it will be? Did that boat sink? Sure. Did they get rescued? Sure. Did they drink Tequila while sinking and did he take 10 Ludes while 1 knocks a normal person out? Probably not.
That's how his system works. And you're the guy at the other end of the line that's being fooled. It's your decision to believe him or not.
