  • Today we have arrived in the very picturesque Charleston in South Carolina. We did not book an excursion here so after breakfast we headed off the ship to take a stroll around this picturesque place. The houses here are really pretty! We also took some time to go past the pineapple fountain. After a walk around the houses and shops we headed to the market. There were so many unique items on sale here and was a such a vibrant place. There was so much we could have bought but in the end we just bought some fridge magnets. Oh and a really unique giraffe model made out of nuts and bolts! It was then time to head back to the ship to have a chill and sunbathe before heading for our evening meal. We took a detour first via the show lounge to watch “From West End to Broadway”. One word…amazing!Today we went to Surf and Turf for our meal which was delicious. However, whilst we waited to be seated we did try a cocktail each. Trust Karl to order one that smoked! Another lovely day with Port Canaveral tomorrow. Cannot believe our first week is done! Here is to week 2!

Happy belated birthday, just caught up with your videos. Very philosophical Karl on your birthday. You are right, make the most of life, we only have one. A lot longer in the tooth than you guys so bin there got the t-shoyt! New York is a definite bucket lister. We were there a year after the tragedy and a visit definitely stirs up the emotions. Keep enjoying and keep videoing!!!

I think if you’ve done New York I would book the coach trip to Miami Beach as you are quite a long way from the beach. I would just see what excursions take your fancy. Have a fantastic holiday

Was the port far from the pineapple water fountain ?We’ve booked the same room as you for our honeymoon in October these are the first videos I’ve seen on this cruise and have been a great help :), did you pay to go to any of the restaurants on board ?

Hi. The pineapple fountain is about a 10-15 walk from the ship along the front. We paid to go to kora La and surf and turf. Although you don’t need to as the food in all the restaurants and buffets are all really good. Have a great wedding day and honeymoon.

Loving the updates chaps. We’re embarking 6th Aug. Are there LGBT or ‘friends of Dorothy’ meetings onboard like with other lines. It’s our first time with Marella and looking forward to it even more after your awesome videos!

Hi, the reception staff told us not to bother as it’s really expensive and not very good and was very slow. We just used our mobiles when we were in port and turned it off when we were on the ship

Yes no problem with 4g and 5g in New York. I would check with your phone provider to make sure there is no extra charges

We don’t really know how much dollars to take with us
How expensive is it when you’re on land
    Thanks

Hi we paid for all our trip’s before we went. So we literally only took 500 dollars with us and that was enough for us. Hope this helps
