Every year this song is much needed, for different reasons.
Currently, it's a song I need to believe. Difficult seasons make faith really difficult. Sincere spiritual experiences are few and far between for me right now due to being too worn out to seek them out. But there has always been the reminder in the back of my mind of God's goodness. Every year, when November rolls around and an inevitable tragic thing happens, I have the reminder in the back of my mind. No matter how much I want to sometimes entertain those "where is your God" moments, I know the Divine is not gone. I know theres something that is transcending this current time I'm in. But that doesn't change the difficulty of the time i'm in and i'm grateful for the grace found in this very moment. If the way i have reacted to my current circumstances were to dictate the good I should receive, i shouldn't have any...but grace upon grace, i suppose.
