In case any of ya'll run into a starter issue like this. A starter on it's way out will usually fail when hot (after being driven) and I've found that tapping it with a metal hammer or pipe will generally free the starter to start the car :) hope this helps someone stranded

yeah 100% on this. also happens on cold weather so tapping it helps. i kept a hammer with me when my accords starter was failing lol
I was stuck stranded once. I hit the starter with a golf club and it worked. Just for all the golfer/car guys out there that keep your clubs in the trunk. Hope this helps as well!

Man these Japan trips are the best. I love the regular dut content but the Japan vlogs are so sick. First video I ever watched was dut seeing his r34 for the first time and I’ve been a subscriber ever since.

It’s probably an Ignition switch probably going bad in the Evo. Pretty common problem when you turn the key and it just does nothing.

P.S. coming back on the previous video. The Calsonic R32. A Calsonic R32 ran a top 10 time at the goodwood festival of speed hill climb. The footage was amazing and worth checking out!

Yooo Dustin !! It’s definitely your starter ! I’m having the same issue with my car . I figured how to turn it on . Just turn your key all the way . But don’t turn it on , let it sit with the key all the way in for like 30sec , then turn it on all the way it should start right back on right away ! Trust me .

Check the ignition. I have the same issue with my car. I have insert key and push it towards the front of the car, then turn it. The electrical switch is the problem

Masa’s the not a friend. He’s a brother!
Could be a problem with one of the connectors to the starter. I had the same issue in my S14 where the connector would expand due to heat and I wouldn’t be able to start my car again until it cooled down or I had to play around with the wire. I ended up replacing the signal wire with a thicker gauge and soldered it directly to the starter.
Dustin needs to bring Masa to the US more.
I’d love to see a small portion of Garage Kogeki be setup as a small studio apartment so Masa has a place to stay when he visits America.

@@dustiinwbuuuut in the end it’s going to be the next step into making more high quality videos. A lot of people choose not to watch a video based on picture quality. We already have 8k tv, in time 1080 will be phased out.
Not to mention with most people watching on phones that can't take advantage of it it wouldn't be much of an upgrade for most. Just a bigger hassle for Dut.

I’d love for Massa to get on the plane with you and have a week in the US or you both go elsewhere as the same crew. Or he in the US with you then you fly straight to Tokyo together and do a direct comparison of the car life’s in each others home in one trip
