I just want to say thank you. Started photography as a hobby and have learned a lot from you. Thank you
Really enjoy your videos. I watch a lot of photography channels. But what I enjoy is you share the tips without hiding key details to get people to buy into a class or something of that nature. You explain things well and get great shots while keeping it fun. Just a great channel all around. I hate watching others channels and then realizing they hold back a lot of information you wish was out there for help.
I'm binge watching you. I loved the photos from this video. They made me emotional. Why I don't know. I can't wait to create !
Love how candid and specific your tutorials are. Plus your work is brilliant. Thanks.
Bruh. Your videos are so useful!!!!. I saw your video about 7 thinks a photographer shouldnt go without. You give excellent information sir. Thanks for sharing. You are a blessing to the game bruh. Thanks again.
first time viewing your work. i am a flash rookie so very much appreciate you sharing your energy and your experience. thumbs up.
I just want to let you know that I subscribe to a number of tutorial channels...your channel is by far is the most comprehensive! After watching your videos I immediately but your tips into action and see a world of difference. Thanks Bro!!!!!
Manny, Doesn't matter what video I watch I always find myself coming back to this video. Please do more videos like this"much love from SOUTH AFRICA"
Manny, I must have scrolled through 15 videos trying to get to one (you) who teaches clearly and concisely and is not just about headshots, thank you bro :)
This Tutorial was just what i needed! I've just started shooting indoors and I only have a single Flash and a reflector. I was wondering how I could incorporate these two together! I hope you make another tutorial on outdoor shooting with flash! Keep up the great work!
Mr. Manny....Thank you so much for all your video lessons and reviews. They are much easier to understand than others.
Never Stop
Thank, John
Thank you Manny for all the great videos you make. I wish you and your crew the best.
Man I needed this video 2 weeks ago. I bought a ton of stuff I didn’t need.
cancelled my order just in time and ordered what i needed
thanks Manny ...you explain things so very simply and easy to understand
Thank you bruh as an old film head im just loving your flow because of this I’ve recently abandon all of my yongnuo flashes and picked up the adorama’s brand the evolve 200 and a few zoom li-onr2 ttl flashes with the x1 triggers and I just love them.
thanks for your info and stay smooth bruh
Bro, thank you and keep up the good work. I really appreciate the time you put into helping out the community.
Awesomeness! Thanks again for sharing your wisdom!!
Jesus MANNY this is my first time seeing this video and the photos are possibly some of your best. So damn good!
You’re an amazing artist. I’m a photographer as well and I have really up my game watching you! Blessings to you love 😊
Love how you help the learning community of photographers from all over the World .. much love from Long Beach Ca .. Thank you ! You got my subscription 🤙🏼🙌🏼🙏🏼
Great video, Manny! Only thing missing is what settings were used, such as manual or TTL flash, f-stop, shutter speed, ISO. I'm also interested in how was the white balance achieved - in post or with gels + camera setting combo?
And one more thing, which may also be a nice topic for a new video - what are the advantages and disadvantages of using this kind of Monolight instead of a basic Speedlite? There are some Godox flashes which are also able to be wirelessly triggered with the same tool you were using.
This video is beautifully composed and I'm benefitted out of it. Thank you so much bro keep up your works ❤️
You've given me a ton of knowledge, Manny. Thank you very much for all that you do for us!
Thank you, just discovered you and now you are locked it. I like those who are confident enough to share all details. Looking forward to be educated. God Bless. Inspiring photographer from South Florida.
@manny Ortiz what was your settings? Especially your flash power settings? Amazing work
Quick and to the point. Great tips!
maf36 I try man. I know people have OCD on youtube
Manny Ortiz but on a serious note... your videos keep getting better and better and I am grateful that you share your gift if us!!
Can you make a video on gear for beginners on a budget? Please.
You are my favorite photography content creator!!!!! Thank you for all the great information!
Good video Manny. Clear, succinct and all of your links worked! Thanks
No body talking about the model.. Nice work Model😀 Also, I use a car windshield reflector/ car shade.. cheap amd is amazing
thanks for suggesting the car windshield. I need to keep low budget :)
any suggestions for making your own light umbrella?
@@debbiegroves2649 Lets take a look on pinterest... loots of idea! I ave creat a kind of soft box with dollorama things
Windshield car shade... excellent, I will include it in my studio.
I always love hearing about different photographers' tricks and techniques for different effects. Car windshield reflector? LOVE IT! I had considered one of those, too.
so your video was just a suggestion in my feed... let me tell you. fk photography lighting! The lighting you have when you're talking is oh so immaculate 👌👌👌
For that im subbing
+Josh Bari Appreciate that Josh
Thanks for reminding of what I did 20+ years ago. It works. Scavullo did it for years for Cosmopolitan. Coming back into the biz will be easier and less expensive than before.
I'm a new subscriber to your channel and it's packed with so many tips for us beginner photographers! Just wanted to say thank you!
No idea how I ended up here, but great video, great stuff on your channel. I am quite a beginner trying to improve my photo/video skills (a6300) every day and left a sub
Do you go about setting your camera settings in studio the same as when you're shooting outside with a flash? do you underexpose?
Different places demand different settings
Great video! I just recently finished researching this light that I think I’m going to finally invest in. The lighting is 👍🏽.
Just came across this video yesterday because I had a shoot this morning and I just wanted to say thank you for the info truly helped out today.
Hi The images you shoot are beautiful!!! do you have a tutorial on how to edit these raw files? Appreciate it!!
Has he ever responded to you ?
@@bonbagayi 😁
Manny would you recommend constant light for starting out or would a flash be better for a total newbie photographer
I am asking for my mom
Photos By TIM constant light. This way you get a better understanding of how light work
It's better a strobe, because with continuous lighting you cant freeze the subject!
Thanks for including the link to the backdrop! Like always, great video!!!
Thank you, Manny, for presenting this tutorial! Your description is simple but highly instructive. I’m watching this on November, 2021, so I hope that the equipment translates to this time frame. I’m shooting with the Olympus OMD- EM1- MARK 2 and giving myself the other equipment for Christmas. Gracias.
You look like "Ghost" from Power Series...
Good tutorial, thank you
Dang! Love your lighting effect! BEST tutorial on light! Thank you!
Gi Pamperien Thank you
Got me hooked up on your videos. I just started taking photos, developing a new hobby and your videos are on-point. Thanks. Subscribed!
Your photography work is really beautiful and inspiring. Love it!! Thanks for sharing your wisdom.
Hola hermano could you share your camera settings for each of your shots please would be really helpful thanks brother:)

Why Drake is not singing anymore
Always enjoy when you guys post! Keep up the great work!
Yo Manny...you're an absolute beast bro and a blessing to the Photography world as well as CZcamsographers..lol. Thanks for all of your hard word, dedication, creativity and sharing it with us all!!!!!!!
Would you bring this single light setup for an outdoor shoot? Or for a travelling photographer?
Jasper Ibe Yes all the time. Take a look at my older videos
I'm so sick of Squarespace...
Literally every photographer has a sponsorship with them
I didn’t like the look or feel from it at all.
Still it's better than the "I just created my website using Wix" adverts, where the person obviously has never used it in their life 😀
@@marcg3923 I honestly don't care which one is better of easier to use. I don't even need a website. I just hate how annoying and intrusive Squarespace is getting on CZcams. If I had to choose a company I'd exclude them because of this attitude.
@@antistiolabeo8950 still a pretty cool company for website.
Nice set of options for single light and reflector. Thanks.
Clamshell is another basic configuration for one light and one reflector that is quick and easy and looks great.
Aspiring photographer in the making here 🙋🏾♀️I’m so anxious, overwhelmed and excited all at once 😩😭 wow never knew how much it is to photography for the most perfect outcome but man I LOVE learning!!! Thank you for this vid it really helped a lot! New subie just subscribed 🙂
When I read the title for some reason I said it as if I was singing Nas song "one Mic" lol "all you need is one light one light" lmao
Do you know of any cheaper alternatives that'd you'd suggest for a flash? I'm a freshman college student and am trying to set up something very similar in my dorm - just want to try and avoid paying so much.
Thanks for all the dope videos! Hope to hear from you soon.
Devyn Allen Just get something like a Godox V860IIS. It can be used as an on or off camera flash, has support for wireless shooting via 2.4G with the Godox Transmitter shown in this video and it supports HSS. Best of all it's really affordable and powerful but if it's still a bit too pricey you could go with the TT685S which is as I recall almost the same but runs on regular AA Batteries and thus has a slower recycle rate and is a bit less powerful (not quite sure).
Devyn Allen I agree. Get a flashpoint speed light and a cheap modifier like an umbrella
Thanks for the information!
The Godox set up is cheap and as Manny will attest, reliable. One thing you need is consistency with gear. I've yet to have a failure from the AD200/TT660 or TT685 with the X1T trigger.
I appreciate the reply! However, I'll be quite honest, I've never done anything like this before. I've only shot portraits, sporting events, etc. So I wouldn't know where to begin. I do however love the price of the equipment you mentioned.
Could you possibly list out everything I'd need to set up a small studio? Modifier, flash, etc?
I'd very much appreciate it, sir. Also, I'm not sure if it matters or not, but I thought you should know that I'm shooting on a 5d mark ii, so if I need anything extra please do mention it!
Regards,
Devyn Allen
Thank you so much, Manny! I've learned many things from this channel! You are perfectly awesome!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
As someone who shoots mostly natural and is now finally getting into off camera flash, this tutorial was helpful for sure.
I came to this video hoping to hear a remix of “One Mic” by Nas in the intro😂
I literally changed the lyrics in my head
Lol you're not the only one.
Yea Yea Yea The Best Lens?Yea The Gmaster 85mm 1.4?? Yea its Your Fault Manny I Been in the Dog House for the Last 3 weeks...I explain to the wife The Same Thing you been saying about this Lens and she aint trying to hear it.. So now I throw my leg on my lens instead of my Wife while I Sleep...She will get over it.I Hope...Lol...Like Always,,Great Video Manny...
PISTOLPETE315 fe 85 1.8 works just about as good for a fraction of the cost fyi
Your coupon code didn’t work, had to use some one else’s!
or you could get the minolta maxxum 85 1.4 for about the same as the 85 1.8
50mm f1.8 is the best
This is too funny LOL
Love your videos Manny... they’re really informative and very easy to follow!
Love your straightforward approach to teaching! I've learned a lot from you
I feel like stealing your beards
Great lighting! My go-to setup is one large octabox and a reflector. It's simple and very versatile. Also, thanks for sharing the Franklin Backdrops info. Their backdrops look very nice.
Awesome to see some studio work... Thanks Manny. Keep them coming.

Love it man, I’m a videographer stepping into the world of flash photography. This is excellent.
So crazy I was working on a similar setup (without the Xplor 600 and the Painted Backdrop). I plan to purchased a few painted backdrops soon for a new concepts I'm working on. This video was confirmation. Thanks for the inspriation Manny !!!
Fine art portraits incoming! Looking forward to another good year of work from you Manny it’s a strong start already
