This song ain't sad, it gets me teary eyed but it's cause of the motivational and triumphant feel
He was the biggest heartthrob for my Mom and her friends in the 1940s
My dad’s favorite song by him. RIP dad & Frank 🙏🏼🕊️
RIP OG
Frank was part of the "RatPack" which included Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Peter Lawford, Joey Bishop, and Angie Dickinson. Elvis did a great cover of this song.❤️
THANK YOU VERY MUCH
OLD BLUE 👀 EYES CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD FRANK SINATRA SANG MY WAY 🙌 LET THE KING 👑 OF ROCK AND ROLL ✨ SING IT ELVIS AARON PRESLEY DID IT BETTER 😎 THANK YOU VERY MUCH 💖✨ AMEN ⚜️💫
It's sadder as you get older, like I am, I will be 76 in March, and now I cry when I hear this, I can relate, but I missed out in a lot of things I had wanted to do when I retired, but health issues and finances make that more difficult to achieve. So,we never know when our time is up when you get to be around my age. I enjoy your reactions Sceez, as some others here have said, you are an "old soul" since you show an appreciation for music that came long before you were born. SO MUCH GREAT MUSIC from the '30s, '40s, '50s, '60s, '70s and '80s, and so many different genres. Starting in the '90s most music done then until now just doesn't do much for me, sadly. Maybe because it's all been done already. Keep up exploring all the great music from those decades, Sceez!
I agree with you, I will be 75 this year and I cannot get into music after 1990 except for a few exceptions. I have noticed that the reactors latley have begun to react to stuff I dont recognize, I think they think they have done all the good stuff but they really have missed a lot of it.
This song is not sad...Sinatra is a LEGEND N NOTHING TO BE SAD ABOUT....
This song is for every man n his dignity to live
thanks to the writing of Paul Anka
This song was way ahead of its time. It’s time was today, men have to stand strong and say what they truly feel, and not bow down with words that kneel
This song says if you stand for your true believes, he will have to take some blows.!
Personally, this song has never made me sad. I could see if it was playing at a funeral or something like that, but it is inspiring, as you said.
This was written for Frank by Paul Anka, who was a teen idol. He has many songs of his own you should listen to. Paul has been singing and writing since he was 14. FYI John Bon Jovi is Frank's great nephew. Imagine the family gatherings.
It's like a testament.
I agree, definitely not a sad song. Everyone should live their live that way, men and women. Of course when you’re Frank you have a full live to sing about.
It really is the ultimate song about a life well-lived
I love this music thank you for the video
Can’t say I’ve noticed anyone putting out as much work as you !! And the diversity of the music you listen to is amazing . You’re a pleasure to watch and you’re just going to keep growing.
The chairman of the board !
I told an aunt of mine that I want her to write it down and save it somewhere so that I can I have this played at my funeral which probably won't be for a long time because I'm only 32.
.....Frank Sinatra, a.k.a. 'The Chairman of the Board' had a long career starting as a vocalist in the big band era and had hits well into the 60's, he's got a great catalog !!! 😎
This is one of the songs I played at my dads funeral… he loved the song and lived his life his way!!! ❤ great reaction…. Loving the mixed content. 😊
Great reaction. He was my Dad's favorite. I am 66, I grew up with Frank in our household. I was not a fan hen I was sixteen, my Dad liked him, no way I would like him.. But as I have grown older, I love the man. My Dad took me to see him when I was 28, it remains one of the great concert experiences and one of the great Father/Son experiences of my life. My Dada passed in 2005, this song was played at his funereal. My Dad, did it his way. He was respected by anyone who knew him. A man's man. Thank you so much for reacting to this song, and keeping this amazing music alive. If you ever do another Sinatra song, and you want to do one that is always relevent, I suggest "'That's Life "
Frank was a gangster!!!!!!
I have 1 Frank CD, quite useless now having Spotify and all... but I still play it every great now and then. Just like every Christmas season I play Dean Martin... just cannot deny the classics!
Blue eyessssss
Men just LOVE this song!!!!!! Don’t get me wrong, it speaks to women too, but I feel like the message really speaks to men’s souls.
I think it makes some people sad because so many men of the older generation have had this song for their funerals. Me included, my grandpa loved this song and it played at his funeral. So I get a bit teary when I hear it.
Never knew you liked "Swing/Big Band" music until I found this. Some other artists you need to listen to are Pat Suzuka, Bing Crosby, Billie Holiday, Dean Martin, Cole Porter, The Andrews Sisters, Bob Crosby & the Bobcats, The Platters, Brook Benton and ESPECIALLY Gayla Peevey.
I love it 🥰
Excellent review. It reminds me of Colin K.
Totally agree! Inspiring!!!!
Your reactions are refreshing as well. Such a great appreciation for all music!
Years ago I heard Frank's daughter, Nancy, say that among the qualities that set her father apart from others, was his clear enunciation of every word. This was a perfect fit for Sinatra as composed by Paul Anka.
Sceez, I've listened to many of your reactions and find you're someone with insights beyond your years. This song as you correctly surmised is the perfect message for young people on how you should live your life with integrity, humility and learning from the bad. If you do it this way you can be comfortable at the end of your life that you pretty much have no big regrets and couldn't have done it differently. Hopefully you made the world a better place for people around you.
😂❤😂❤ exactly best review
That's life is a banger bro
I don't know who told you this is a sad song. But you should be suspect of anything they tell you LOL. They don't know their stuff. Just as you said, this is an inspirational song. You are very smart.
Love Sinatra, you should react to New York, New York, Lady is a Tramp and/or High Hopes amount other songs. Btw Elvis did a great cover to this song.
The song was written for him. It was based off his life. Look up his life story.
Wonderful reaction! Thanks and God Bless!
This is the men’s anthem
😁❤😁
frank is the best singer ever no doubt
Frank is classic OG. This was a great first song to do. Please do more of him! AND other "crooners"
Check out It Was AVery Good Year by Frank Sinatra
You should also listen to Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr. They were also in the Rat Pack
The iconic British punk rockers, The Sex Pistols, did a cover of this song! That's how big it is.
Great assessment. Paul Anka wrote it. Incredible lyrics.
Class act. Part of the legendary "Rat Pack", including Sammy Davis Jr., Dean Martin, Jerry Lewis and Peter Lawford.
Fly Me to the Moon is my favorite Frank Sinatra. It's not a meloncholy song like this, it's more upbeat and just lifts you up.
Top of the lift.
You don't have to use the stairways to heaven.
Use my super lift to the very end.
And very beginning
The first.
Right...Sad? NO, definitely not sad.
If you like the inspiration of this one, you will like "Like a Rock" by Bob Seger.
Welcome to the world of crooners, which Frank Sinatra ranks at the top, along with Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr and Bing Crosby. All well worth diving into.
