- Joe rogan talks about why alex pereira is so good at leg kicks, especially calf kicks, in his second fight with israel adesanya he managed to kick his calf again multiple times but israel could not do anything about it even though he was expecting it.

Smartest thing he could add to his game, he has plenty of power weapons. He needed a speed weapon.
speedwagon
His leg kicks maybe its not fast but its sneaky Izzy is the best striker in the ufc and Izzy cant anticipate it
He need wrestling

Zero telegraphing in those calf kicks
Hand drops quite a bit for a fighter who has a stance like he does little cat paw stance
It’s Thaï stance for sure.
This guy like Sagat from Street Fighter Game.
Also you never know where the kick from not only the low kick: every kick.
I think it’s best kicker in UFC or GLORY fighters.
@@bananefarid8594I’d have to say wonderboy in there 2
@@CamsCinemaYtEdwards as well
They are giving me soccer pass vibes, how he rotated his leg to come in with the heel and back foot for max force
He’s not turning the hips, not hitting him with his shin, not dropping his hands to do it. He has broken all fundamentals of a low kick, and that’s my friend what differentiates greats from goods!
Expert techniques are beginners mistakes done on purpose. - icy mike
Yeah he generates power off that kick by dropping his pivot knee down instead of turning his hip over.
Except he is landing with his shin

He's the real life Saget from street fighter
The real life Sagat is… Sagat. Muay Thai fighter they based the game character on.
Brother search 'sagat petchyindee', muay thai fighter on whom the street fighter character is based upon.
Sagat was based on a real person. Most people dont know.
Still Alex looks more like Sagat than the real life Sagat

Its like how the video games throw leg kicks
Sure grandpa
@pooter1239 grampa? Na kid. I'm not that old. When you gonna take them training wheels off your bike tho?
He and jon Jones don’t telegraph kicks.
I was always amazed at Jones kicks. To me, his boxing has never been elite but his kicks are not telegraphed at all. The leg kicks, front/side kick to the body. Even that head kick which finished DC in that 2nd fight was lightning fast and came out of nowhere. Scary fighter especially when you consider that he's a world class wrestler!

Adesanya doesnt want the trilogy. You can tell, he wants to avoid him at all costs.
i dont agree with you, adesanya for sure was so childish when he won last fight, but its ok i can understand his frustration through the years from pereira losses, but adesanya knew if he took this fight for 4th now it will be life or death for pereira and for him too, because he acting like who won last is the best, he want to convince him self and his fans that shit because alex won 3 times, so logically he will not win 3 times too over alex its impossible so he want to make it like that, but fr adesanya wont take 205 alex, if they will fight again i believe it will be at 185 again.
Alex moved up. Not Izzy. Alex has other plans
@@germanboy14 yea but he said he will back at 185 for izzy if he win the lhw title
Neither does Alex. Both are ducking eachother, they've already fought 4 times, they've both been flatline knocked tf out by the other. Why continue to fight when yous can coexist at different weight divisions
In Alex's defense, if you watch the weigh-in of this fight, he looks like in real rough shape, makes you think "how tf did you make 185?!"
LHW seems more ideal for his sake and his size
That flying knee Sound 😂😂😂😂
Iv never seen an fighter throw low leg kicks so sneakily and incognito yet be as smooth and effective as Alex. That’s definitely his strongest attribute. Once the opponent tries to avoid them, it leaves their face open for those quick hooks Alex is capable of. He’s a special fighter.
True but , he throws not enough jabs. Especially against adesanya. Never throwns 1-2 punch combo.
Also he's not afraid of getting hit unlike Izzy. Alex is a million times more entertaining to watch.
Brazilians kicking ass on UFC as always

He got Jiri with it too, definitely played a huge part in the fight as it limited Jiri’s weird movement. This guys currently the best striker on the roster. If he’s able to improve his TDD in a similar way that Leon did, it’s over for the LHW division.
I swear Joe talks about every fighter like he is the best fighter in the world
He helped Rousey get a big head, for sure.
I just got 5 calf kicks in a fight, shit got me walking like my gramps for days 😅😂
Izzy was lucky Pereira let his guard down, if he kept picking him apart like he was he was winning that fight 100%, he was too eager for that KO.
How was it luck when alex got caught with the exact same punch in the fight before?
@@devilkazumi578 Can you read bro? Izzy was lucky Pereira let his guard down again and unloaded. Thats why Izzy was able to get the counter in. Izzy was lucky Pereira didnt learn from the same mistake he did in the first fight
@joshlin50ja can you think bro? You're calling one of the best counter punchers lucky that he landed a perfect counter on alex it's not luck alex just had no respect for izzys punches and paid for it
@@devilkazumi578 I guess its a waste of time trying to explain shit to you but I have a couple of minutes. I was explaining the very simple point that you painfully failed to comprehend. Nobody called it a lucky shot. It was a very good strike. You said it right there: Alex, a highly decorated kickboxer himself, who knows how Izzy fights, who was rocked badly in their first mma fight, made a massive mistake by not respecting Izzys punches. Considering how fucking good Alex is, making such a big mistake AGAIN is really stupid. Stupid mistakes are unusual for elite fighters like both of them are. Perfect counter, but he was lucky Alex put himself into such a bad position for the counter.
@joshlin50ja yeah you're wasting you're time because you have to result to insults to make a point which you suck at
Even izzy said after the second fight that he needed to go train with Alex to learn how he throws that without any telegraph at all
The secret? A lot of weight on his back leg

One of the greatest MARTIAL ARTISTS of all times for sure!

People genuinely don't understand how impressive it is to mask that calf kick so effortlessly
Its the eye contact, once you make eye contact, your eyes focus and you lose peripheral. He knows where he needs to hit without looking.
He probably look to the center of the chest.
You can see it all from there.
Shoulders, hands, hips.
You don't need to look to the eyes of the guy, at all.
Pereira a real life rock ‘‘em sock ‘em.
Rogan’s impression of alex’s stance was on point 😂
Broooo...it was 100% spot on 😂😂😂
Welp. Gotta rewatch this fight for the 5th time this week.
That knee came out of nowhere!!!
Na that knee sound was hilarious
That's how elite he is. There's no tell, none
So after the first fight I added the way he calf kicks to my game and I love it so much. It always lands.
His shoulder and hip does rotate when throwing a kick.
He just throws a kick as swift that you wont even notice
His outside game is better than Adesanya’s, which is saying a lot.
It may not be the most damaging shots individually, but if you chip away long enough, something’s gotta give.
the sound from knee was hilarious
For anyone who knows how a low kick feels. It’s ok we will get through this together and waking up tomorrow is gonna be even worse than you feel after class 😭
he’s like fighting zohan
Honestly this is how I throw most of my leg kicks. I once sparred a K1 kickboxer when I was in Japan and I could barely land anything except for my one best weapon, the lead leg leg kick.
Cap
This almost looks like Steven Seagal wrote this comment but it's not braggadocious enough. Needs more front kick.
When Polish power realised he wasn’t the strongest. 🗿
Smart fighter
The crazy thing is that Pereira was beating Israel in the second fight, and he got too confident, when Israel as a great fighter got him...he left the plan behind of being cautious and that cost the fight, big lesson for him.
The editing is always on point 🤌
That’s called point ✅
Joe rogan is the first fanboy of perieira
This is what Michael Jai White was talking about...Telegraphing things.

Pereira reminds me of Anderson Silva without the joking around
Fcking love poaton man. It's definitely his time. Hes taught me so much
Pereira after breaking his shin - 🗿
It’s that Bas Rutten squared up stance. Everything becomes a power shot
"He stands like this"🗿
"His shoulders dont swing" bro and the sound effects kill me
Maann it was lookin like Pereira was gonna win that 😒
Alex got cocky and rushed him, it happens. I think he wins the rematch though.
Young legend
Cause you have to worry so much about that power in those hands he catches them legs
I think that's the only reason it works. Otherwise people would read the calf kick.
Now imagine if Poatan fires a calf kick with full force... 😂
Pereira watching this video🗿🗿🗿
There are 2 telegraphs & Izzy makes the read.
When pereira is thinking about throwing the Leg kick his hands are positioned above his hips his hands are almost parallel with his fingers pointed upwards to make the opponent think he is going up top.
The 2nd & in my opinion the most telling is whichever leg he throws the leg kick the same hand drops significantly for example…
If he throws a R leg kick his R hand drops if he throws the L leg kick his left hand drops.
It’s so hard to capitalise on it because he throws the kick n drops his hand simultaneously.
Nice editing
This was their 4th fight. 3-1
The first fight was debatable tbh
one of the only fighters that can pull off the muay thai stance in the UFC
when your as big as he is you already have power just need to land it
That kicks are basically what won him that first fight in the ufc
He was kickin the bleedin leg off
I can’t stop laughing at the sounds of the hits😂
I love when they edit and insert these silly punching noises! 😂
"Yeah I know, I know it....ehehm....yeah, oh....right..."
Whether in streets fight u can’t hit your opponent with full force cz its human instinct unless he is drunk or tired..
Lol we call that „chopping the wood“
the weapon people are not talking about are the body jabs to solar plexus
Wow Pereira trained Strickland well. It's almost an exact replica of the fight on 09/09. I hope The Peoples Champ stays the champ for a little bit. That was a beautiful performance.
The score: 3-1
Adesanya: i made history, im moving on to the next chapter.
Bro got the Zohan kick
Speed=power when really fast
He is like Tong Po in Kickerboxer movie 😅
It's just his leg that moves which makes it so hard to predict the leg kick
And he knows that his opponent focus on not get hit with that left hook
Those sound effects 😂
Joe actin
As if he didn’t get absolutely flatlined 😂
You're acting as if Pereira didn't absolutely flatline Izzy in the past as well 😂. Alex was destroying him until the KO. A lucky punch can always happen in fighting, it still doesn't mean Izzy is the better fighter. If we had 100 chess matches and I won 99 of them and you happen to beat me in the last one by chance, would you consider yourself the better chess player? Yeah, thought not. Same thing here
@@serrobertstrong1377 woah bro, didn’t mean to piss you off that bad. Anywhoo.. ya boy still got flatlined, its time to cope my friend
Israel was inches away of getting his legged kick out lol
CANT WAIT TO SEE HIM FIGHT IZZY again
Like a deceiving magician
Lmao fr , i just noticed that
i think the issue in that second fight was that alex was expecting the same fight for a 4th time (cant really blame the guy) but izzy knew this and essentially wanted to play opossum with him and act hurt to unload a massive counter shot. I think if we get a 3rd/ 5th fight it will be far closer again since alex will likely be more cautious.
Pereira is ALWAYS moving but he doesn’t just shake his guard, he is always moving his whole body, it just doesn’t look like it
Sound fx are funny as hell
Every. Damn. Time. The coconut sound always gets me 🥥
he uses it as a jab at this point
Ty for this knowledge, grandma wasnt saw my shoulder..🥋😎
It looks like he kinda drops his arm everytime he goes to throw the kick, but there's also a common movement. Aside from that there's like no telegraphing
“Where he’s almost square to you” Joe you know what Muay Thai is my boy. 😭
I’m not gone lie that just goes to show how good Alex is buh also how tough Izzy is Izzy stood in front of Alex every fight they had trading shots with him where everybody else were more afraid of is knockout power not saying isn’t wasn’t but the fact that Izzy knows that and still stood in front of him every fight shows Izzy turns into a dog when it’s another dog in there with him
Izzy was very careful against alex . You can see the difference between pereira and all other middleweight he fought
Bro his way if fight is funny but effective 😂
No telegraphing is such a huge advantage. Experienced Kyokushin fighters are some of best at this.
His stance is more like Muay Thai fighter than a kickboxer
Izzy could take it because he was the one actually doing this to other people, using those long limbs to punish. Remember the Costa fight 😂
and the lights are cut off
It's crazy how Pereira can just throw those no telegraph calf kick with ease I tried doing it in real life myself and I can't do it without at least chambering my legs I guess I'm just more used to the muay thai way of doing it. So either Pereira's leg kicks are just tapping shots over and over again like this video said or he has so much brute force in him that it doesn't matter how he throws his kicks it'll still hurt you. Because the calf kick Pereira throws it's such a unnatural movement my hips hurt when I try to Mimic the way he does it so Pereira a beast frfr
I am 44, used to fight professionally, and still spar sometimes. I copied this style in sparring recently. I wish I would have kicked this way when I still fought. It lands over and over, not nearly as hard has turning my hips over, but man it does more damage. It is so hard for them to avoid or check it.
When israel say if he beat me again is 4 and 0 now.. no no
